Getting Labels and Paths of disks under a mountpoint using WMI

Hello Guys,
I need to extract  the drive names and their paths (including drives under a mountpoint) in a windows cluster resource grup (disk dependency) , Now my issue is I am getting the drive dependencies as clusterdisk1, clusterdisk2  using Microsoftcluster_resource
class in a mountpoint.
All I want is to get the drive labels and their paths for the disks ie..clusterdisk1, clusterdisk2.
Is there any way that I can relate/compare clusteredisk1 to disk labes via WMI classes...
for example If I query a disk dependency on a resource. I am getting the information as clusterdisk1,clusterdisk2, and so on...., where as at failover cluster manager I can see the names M:\Data and N:\Log (where M is the mountpoint)..for particular
clusterdisk1,2 and soon... so is there anyway i can relate the clusterdisk1 is whether M:\Data or N:\Log and get that information............pls find the image below.....

Nope, still searching....... they asked me to post in this section for better response..
Johan, I am a DBA, and I've gone through all WMI classes, but cannot find relation between those at WMI...
Can you help me in getting it, scripting guys did their best.. but still the issue didnt resolve as I am unable to get the right information where the mapping occurs.. I mean at diskindex or signature or deviceid from MScluster namespace to win32 nampace..
Also I am working across different versions of OS from windows 2003 onwards.......with SQS Clusters of different versions...........

  • LR not getting labels and ratings from Bridge - SOMETIMES?

I'm starting to feel a bit masochistic 'cause I just keep trying to use Lightroom... But, there are enough things that are so much easier to do in Bridge that I still use it for everything but Lightroom's Develop module...
Anyhow, in Lightroom I loaded a directory of images (about 70). In Bridge I examined the same directory of images and rated some with 5 stars, and some of those with GREEN...
Back to LR... None of the changes show up. Looked around LR for something that would tell it to update the images in its library. The only thing I could find was the metadata/XMP/Import XMP thing, and that didn't do anything (is there something else in there that I'm just missing?). Finally, I DELETED the whole directory, and imported the images again. STILL no labels or ratings. I even shut down LR and Bridge and restarted LR to see if that'd help... Then did the metadata/XMP/Import again. Still no change.
Now I KNOW this has worked before, 'cause I've seen the images with the labels and ratings... Any ideas how come it refuses to work on these images?
BTW: If I change a label or rating in LR it shows up immediately in Bridge.

Tried that as part of the "how do I get metadata from Bridge into here" activity... On this set it still didn't bring in the changes... It may just be an aberation but its really bizarre to have different sets of images appear differently... But, since I just got killed by LR and its "Out of Memory" message I'm back to square one again anyhow.

  • Getting Locations and various WIFI networks under better control...

I have several networks that I use. I have a strong preference for some reason to use OpenDNS.
-Home 1 (Airport Extreme, WPA2 Personal, Static IP although DHCP for everyone else - Bonjour printer attached to AE)
-Home 2 (Airport Extreme, WPA2 Personal, Static IP although DHCP for everyone else)
    School (802.1X, WPA Enterprise)
-Work (Linksys Wireless G Access Point, Static IP, their own DNS servers (can I still use OpenDNS?), primarily a wired Windows workgroup, but all on the same network, so I can still use Bonjour to get a shared printer)
-Random networks....just want to access them and use DHCP with OpenDNS.
So is it possible to cut down on some of the locations? I usually have to select my location when I move, and recently have had to additionally select the WiFi network from the Airport Menu, it has always been automatic I think. I would love a seemless network switch based on which networks are found in range... is this possible without 3rd party, or do I need to go that direction?
My iPhone does this beautifully and automatically... how can my MBP do this? (exceptions being printers and that iPhone will not connect to my school's primary network that I mentioned above, I use their secondary network which I have to lease for an hour at a time - I'm pumped to have my legit 2.0 firmware).
    Thanks for your help.

I just erase and installed Leopard on my angry MBP that always gets ****** off (it's been through 3-4 migrations and restores). I spared no mercy to preferences or backed up programs, all from scratch, just documents, music, movies etc. in my home folder.
So I got to play with a very fresh and clean list of settings for the first time in a while.
My iPhone... manages manual IPs and server settings based on the WiFi network that I am on. When I am at home on one network, I have DHCP with a manual address. When I'm at work, I have a different gateway and static IP address.
Network manual IPs do not change with Leopard do they? The way that I have to manage my static IPs right now is by creating new locations and manually switching at each location. Isn't there some way for this to happen automatically.
I wake up, check my email at home, on a static IP. Boom.
I go to work, open my laptop, get on the internet. Boom.
Forgetting locations, is this possible? My iPhone does it without complaint...

  • My hard rive has increasingly been getting louder, and the update that Apple has to get rid of it, my computer says it's not necessary and won't open it. Suggestions? Its a mid-2010 with 10.9.2 pro

My hardrive has been increasingly getting louder, and in a search under Macbook Pro services I found my problem, but they said to install the Hard Drive Firmare 2.0. After I downloaded it when it opens under installer, a pop-up says 'This update is not necessary for this computer' and then it autmatically closes the installer. Apart from taking it in to the store (which I will probably have to end up doing), are there any suggestions?

    Nilsene,
perhaps your hard drive already has that firmware version installed? That could explain why you’re getting the “this update is not necessary for your computer” pop-up.
Are you making regular backups of your hard drive? Its increasing volume might be an early warning of an approaching disk failure, so if you’re not already doing so, I’d highly recommend purchasing an external disk for use as a Time Machine backup destination — that way, in case of a sudden failure, you won’t permanently lose all of your personal files.

  • Labels and Ratings Unavailable in Bridge

I'm able to apply neither labels nor ratings to pictures in Bridge.  Additionally, although the Labels and Filters are offered under Select Filter Categories, neither actually appears in the Filter list.   Seems to affect CS5 now as well.

Can you right click an image from within bridge and goto the label menu, and select a label from there?
Also to add a rating using a keyboard shortcut, press CMD-1 - 5 depending on the rating level you'd like to rate an image.
Both labels and ratings can be found under the "Label" menu as well.
Once labels and rating have been applied, the filter categories will become available.
If no labels or ratings are found, then the filter categories will not be visible.
If this doesn't help, let us know what else you're seeing, and what OS you're using
    thanks.

  • I upgraded to firefox 4 (from 3.x) and since then I can't scroll using the trackpoint on my IBM R40 laptop. It does work in other applications including foldres, explorere etc.

It worked until I downloaded the last version of firefox, and it still works with any other application except ff.

Apparently it's related to the Firefox plug in.
This isn't exactly a solution but more of a way to avoid opening PDFs with Firefox's plug in.
    1. Highlight "Tools" from the Menu Bar in the top left of the screen (or click "Options" if using the Firefox Compact Menu)
    2. Select to "Options
    3. Select "Applications"
    4. Look for "Adobe Acrobat Document" under Content Type and to the right under Action select "Use Adobe Reader (default)" instead of the using Adobe Acrobat in Firefox
    5. Open a test PDF. It should open in it's own window now.
Again, not a complete solution but something that'll at least let you scroll with PDFs open.

  • I have an Ipod Video 60 GB (1st Gen from 2006) and I cannot get it to show up in my iTunes version 11.0 that I just upgraded to.  It won't show up as a disk under Disk Utility either.  I cannot get it to stop saying "Do Not Disconnect" to use it either.

I have had the same issue with my Ipod Nano (bought 2011).  It would not show up in Itunes on my macbook unibody (2009).  Please help!

    Hi mafiose15,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Restoring your iPod to factory settings is the best way to try and get it back to working order. You can use the instructions below to restore it:
    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
You can find the instructions in this article:

    All the best,

  • Boot image does not exist and cannot read disk label errors.

Hi - I'm having a problem with installing Solaris 9 4/04 on a Netra T1. The Netra already has Solaris 7. I need to get this set up as a jumpstart server but it can't find the boot image. I'm using a brand new bonafide installation disk - not a copy. The system won't let me install/upgrade to Solaris 9 either. I get an error stating that disk label can't be read. I've tried swapping out the CDROM but I still get the same errors. Does anyone know what or why this may be happening? (Oh - and another strange thing - like I said the CDs are the original but there doesn't appear to be a cdrom/cdrom0/s0 directory. The directory I see is cdrom/cdrom0/sol_9_404_sparc/Solaris_9/Tools)
ERROR: Install boot image /cdrom/sol_9_404_sparc/Solaris_9/Tools/Boot does not exist

I appreciate any help at all - is there anyone out there who can tell me what I may be doing wrong?
    Thanks

Hi check that you are booting of the right cd. Make sure it is soalris 9 software 1/2 if that fails then it may well be that your cd is buggered. most likely it is buggered it it cant find the boot image.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

I am having problems updating my itunes to the latest version, on each stage I am getting a message 'The feature you are trying to use in on a network resource that is unavailable.'  I try to click OK it fails and I do not know an alternate path to select, please help?
    I get message like below on each stage of the update, Quicktime, Safari & iTunes;
It's so annoying as until I update my iTunes account my phone won't sync.

Many thanks for the screenshot. (The key to these is knowing which particular .msi file is being mentioned by the message.)
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
(Assuming that the QuickTime and Safari messages were also citing bonjour64.msi, you should also then be good to go with those installs too.)

  • I am getting a Photoshop CC "scratch disk full" error, but my scratch disk is C:/ and I have 40 gigs of free space - help!?!

Why is Photoshop giving me this error when I'm not working on files that are that big given the amount of free space on my computer? They're around 1.5 megs each, .jpeg files (not even PSD files) and I'm only trying to resize them to smaller, nothing fancy at all. Can't even open and do one without getting the scratch disk full error - but it's not full when I look at my C:/ drive (even in PS when I check the scratch disks under Preferences you can see the multiple gigs free).
    Help anyone?
    Thanks!
    C

The rule of thumb I follow to figure out scratch space says to figure on 50 to 100 times the size of your largest file ever multiplied by the number of files you have open.  I have seen the scratch file exceed 800 GB once, an admittedly rare occurrence, but it often exceeds 200 GB when stitching large panoramas and the like.
As an example—and stressing that I'm aware that others have even more scratch space than I do—I keep two dedicated, physically separate hard drives as my primary and secondary Photoshop scratch disks and a lot of GB free on my boot drive for the OS.  I also have 16 GB of RAM installed.
Additionally, if you only have a single HD, i.e. your boot drive, you'd need it to be large enough to accommodate both the swap files of the OS as well as Photoshop's scratch.
