Getting livid with the inability to bail out...
I have a 60 GB MacBook and an 80 GB iPod Video. You can already guess the problem with this: I have no backup of my iPod and no option to (I had a 250 GB external HD that airport security was kind enough to "lose" for me about a month ago, and I hadn't the money to replace it yet, being a student and all).
I had been manually adding songs to my iPod as one could expect, and today I got this:

Oh goody. So, I go to the terminal and extract the movie files (Tune Tools didn't see anything) and brought them to the front of the iPod, where I could see them:

No problem. I'll back them up to DVD, right? WRONG! I made three coasters. I then found out why: On my iPod, if I opened a movie, let's say AGYX.mp4 which is "Tapestry" for Star Trek, which I converted from a Jean Luc Picard collection I have, I see this:

However, after moving it to my harddrive before burning and opening it there, I get:

I am most annoyed. This is the result of 3 straght months of converting DVDs to a format I can watch on the bus, and now I have zero to show for it, and I need to redo EVERYTHING, assuming it won't just happen again.
Please, someone, tell me if there is still any way to salvage my progress, please advise.

I download Flash player, proceed through the steps, but it takes me to a page where Adobe wants me to buy photoshop and other products and no way to bypass this and just get on with the installation without buying anything. Anyone out there know how to do it?

No purchase is required to install Flash Player. The offer you're seeing is optional. There should be a yellow 'Install Now' button on the bottom right of the page. Is the button not displaying? Please post a screenshot of the page (How to post a screenshot in the forum).

I've been testing out all the settings on the hotspot, but can't seem to get results with the GPS switch. GPS just spins, searches, doesn'. I can access the hotspots settings in Safari on the laptop and still the problem persisits. I did install some new GPS drivers recommended by AT&T, that doesn't seemed to have work. Could it be that there is a port wrong somewhere? Can anybody make heads or tails of this? Any assistance is gratefully appreciated...

We explored using sbRIO for our project, for different reasons we ended up going with a different embedded solution . We are currently evaluating the LabVIEW C Generator to convert some of the core analysis routines from LabVIEW to C so the team that will be creating the embedded solution don't have to re-implement them from scratch.
Before converting our code, I followed the instructions given in the "Getting Started with the NI LabVIEW C Generator" manual to create a static library created inCygwin using GNU Compiler Collection (GCC).
I managed to compile the code, but when I type "run GCD.exe" in the Cygwin console, I just see the window flash with no time to see if the result is correct or not. I modified the main.c cde to add a getchar(), but the window still just flashes and now I am left with the GCD process still running and have to kill it using Windows Task Manager.
Has anyone else got this example to run? I am sure I am missing an obvious setting or step, please help me.

and replaced both Makefile and Makefile.cygwin in the directory where the C code was generated
I also copied main.c from the same location and replaced the one generated
Here is the snapshot of the results after executing "make GCD.exe"
Then to run it I just type
I see a window open and close really quickly and I never see the result. I have tried adding the getchar() line to the main.c file, but still I don't get to see the results.

I am attaching a zip file with the LabVIEW project, my build specification and my version of "Greatest Common Divisor.vi", which should be the same as the one that you have that ships with the LabVIEW C Generator, but just in case. I am also attaching a zip file with the C files generated by the LabVIEW C Generator.
You can also see the video I posted earlier with the steps I followed. I hope you are able to point out where I went wrong.

This may seem basic, but I just discovered that I do not have a share button (the one with the little arrow jumping out) to the left of my address bar on Safari for my Mac. I do have one on my IPad and use it often. Can anyone tell me why my Mac is missing this icon and how to get it? Thanks.

Although I'm learning I am a complete programming / javascript / json / jquery novice so my apologies in advance if this is a stupid question or i have failed to understand the new restful api functionality which is available under this beta.
In the past, where a client has had really specific functionality that was not achievable within the BC framework, I have implented an external php application (with the help of a web developer) and simply linked to it via a sub domain. Obviously not ideal.
My hope is that the new api functionality will open up a range of possibilities that will go some way toward eliminating the need to build extenal applications and simply extend the existing BC framework using the added api functionality.

The above is a grocery pricing comparison website whereby the applicaton highlights the cheapest and best value (comparible) products. The application also allows the user to select from the items displayed to create a shopping list showing where to buy the selected products for the best value. The user can also email, print, or save their shopping list.
My question is for someone who is more farmiliar with the new api and who is perhaps more experienced than me with programming. Would it be possible to create the above solely on BC without sacrificing speed, security, functionality etc?

I never used LabView but need to generate a RS-233 serial output string that contains an IRIG timestamp based on a contact closure. Is LabView an appropriate tool to do this? How much does it cost to get started with the product?
Labview isn't cheap, but it would certainly allow you to build a program (set of vi's - virtual instruments) that would do what you describe. Where would the timecode information come from? Your vi, or program, would: Start up, initialize the serial port, loop until a trigger happened, read the timecode (from where?), output that timecode out the serial port in a loop until you pressed the stop button. There is a free evaluation of Labview software available from NI - the base product itself runs about $995.

3 weeks ago I bought a Mac Mini. A new Mac Mini model has been rumoured to come out anywhere between the same week I made my purchase and the end of August. None's been released as yet.
I wanted one in the week of June that I bought mine so I bought it based on the fact that it did what I wanted and I couldn't imagine anything which could be added that I'd want - my MacBook Pro doesn't have Thunderbolt so the most likely addition isn't really going to be much use for me.
Basically you have to buy what you what based on what's out at the the time.
I can promise that within seconds of the iPad3 being released, the web will be full of rumours about the next one! -

Freight condition getting multiplied with the quantity
Dear Gurus,
I have configured freight condition, ZHD0, copied from HD00. When I am putting Rs 1000 in header, if i have 10 quantities, it is getting multipled with 10 and getting the total as 10000. I want it to be 1000 only and not get multipled with the quantity. Kindly suggest what needs to be done.
Also, if there are 10 line items, the freight value should not be multipled with the quantity.

This could be issue of unit of measure. The sales unit of measure might be different than pricing unit of measure. So system might picking the unit conversion from material master. Like if your sales unit is CS and pricing PC. in material if it is maintained like 1 CS =10 PC. In this case system will multiply the amount.
