Getting Logitech Clearchat Headset to record.

Hi, I have a Logitech Clearchat Headset (usb) and am trying to record sound with it. I can get sound into it music etc, but I cant record. I use asoundconfgtk to change from my default soundcard to Headset. That allow me to listen, but I still cant record.
I cant record using gnome-sound-recorder or audacity. Here is the error I get when I set audacity's setting to output: Alsa Default Input: Alsa Logitech USB headset USB audio HW:2.0

  • Cannot get Logitech ClearChat Comfort USP headset to work on Leopard :-(

    Hello,
I upgraded to Leopard from Panther recently and have had nothing but problems ever since. I have become a part time computer tech support person (in addition to my full time day job). To make Leopard work smoothly on my Powermac G5 is an endless struggle....
The current struggle is trying to get my brand new Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB headset to work with Leopard. Googling this issue is bringing me very bad news: that Logitech and Apple do NOT communicate or cooperate, and each company refers frustrated end users to the other company for help--to a problem that has no solution.
Is it in fact true that all USB headsets now don't work on Leopard!? I find this unbelieveable if true--given the zillions of humans using Skype, for example, and how heavily relied upon is communicating internationally or long distance via Skype on a PC or Mac. Why can't Apple and Logitech get their act together and provide drivers and solutions so we can simply use a headset with our Mac?
Right now I have 5 month old (new in my opinion) Logitech headset that somebody recommended I buy to use on my Mac computer--and I can't get it to work, and there does not seem to be any driver for it.
Please if anybody can give me helpful advice, or a solution to this problem I'd appreciate it greatly.
PS: as in interesting sidenote I thankfully have a Sony Vaio notebook. Guess what? All I have to do is plug the headset into the notebook and can away I go to Skypeland, never any problems. Can't say the same about my Mac....always like pulling teeth to get anything to work on this boat anchor
My next computer will be a PC, I'm sorry to say....don't want to be a part-time computer engineer...too much work to do....

Generally, if I see a requirement of OS X 10.4 or later, the device will work under Leopard. Requirements of 10.3 or earlier tend to mean getting the device to work under Leopard is hit or miss.
With that in mind, how did you upgrade to Leopard? Did you use the Upgrade option or the Archive & Install?
It's up to Logitech to make sure their devices work properly with the operating systems, not Apple's.

  • Audio Error with Logitech Clearchat Headset (USB)

After doing the monthly recommended battery recharging overnight, I had upon startup with my Logitech USB Clear Chat headset plugged in an audio error--a grayed-out apple icon in a gray box in the center of the screen, and a recurring beep-beep-beep which defaulted to the internal speaker when I detached the headset. With this icon and sound I had no way to change audio settings--it kept popping back to maximum. I rebooted without the headset and had the same problem, but the noise AND recognition of audio devices (even internal) disappeared with a safe start-up. I could reboot normally and had audio with internal hardware fine, but the beep-beep and icon pop up again if I put in the headset. Running the diagnostic utility discovered no problems with the machine, and the headset works fine on my PC (and was fine on my Macbook until today).
    Thanks for you help!

' orangehat I sincerely hope you (we?) get an answer on this one! I ordered exactly the same headset the same time I did my 17-inch MBP. Still waiting for everything to be delivered - so can't say as yet whether I have the problem too. Hoping not.
' Hoping there's an answer to your question anyways so I can get an idea of things before my kit lands (IF that EVER actually HAPPENS!!!)

  • Audio output using Logitech Clearchat Pro USB headset sounds like chipmunks

I use a Logitech Clearchat USB headset for online meetings daily. On my previous machine (Black MacBook 2GHz) the headphones and mic worked fine. I just upgraded to a new 2.66 Unibody MacBook Pro and while the microphone works fine but the audio in the headphones sounds like chipmunks. If I switch the audio output to the speakers, the audio sounds fine.
Logitech claims that since the drivers the headphones use are built-in, it's not their issue. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this problem and how I might be able to get it resolved.
    Thanks.

  • Trouble Using USB Headset to record on a track in Pr Pro CS4

I just purchased a Logitech ClearChat Wireless Headset and am wishing to use it to record a voiceover on an audio track in the Audio Mixer. CS4 and Mac OS recognizes the headset but the Audio Mixer will not allow me to
enable a track for recording. I receive the error message......
Error message: "The previously selected ASIO driver could not be loaded, and may be in use by another application. The default ASIO driver is now in use."
    No other applications are running.........
Does Pr Pro CS4 not like these USB devices?
    Bruce

    Bruce--
I had similar trouble. It comes from trying to record from a mono device (your headset) into a stereo track (which is probably what you have, since that is what comes up by default).
Create a mono track. Set your system setting as you did to see your input from the mic.
In Preferences/Audio Hardware, select the system default device.
Now when you enable the track, and press the record button, you should be able to see your levels when you speak.

  • Logitech H800 headset not working after upgrading Win 8.1 to Win 10 Preview

In Settings --> Devices I DO see "Logitech Wireless Headset" listed
But, in the Sound Properties dialog box, under the "Playback" tab my Logitech wireless headset is not listed.
It's also not listed in the "Recording" tab either.
Any ideas how I can get this headset working with build 9926?
    -- Jeffrey Richter (http://Wintellect.com)

    Hi,
I would suggest you install latest drivers and reinstall the required software "Media Track Control Software", then test this issue again.

Since this issue only happened in Windows 10 Technical Preview 9926, it might be a device compatinility issue, please contact the Logitech Support to confirm the issue.

  • Help getting a USB headset setup

I'm trying to get my USB headset setup so that I can maybe get it working on Vent through Wine.
First problem is getting Arch to install it, it's hooked up and through a couple of reboots I still can't get it working.

  • Logitech usb headset not usable is some apps

The device works fine in some apps (skype) but not in others (xlite, kiax, audacity). In the apps that it doesn't work you only see the default sound card /dev/dsp. There are no entries for /dev/dsp1 or /dev/dsp2. Very strange. It's not the headset because it works fine on another computer running Kanotix.
    cat /proc/asound/cards shows the following:
    0 [SI7012         ]: ICH - SiS SI7012
                         SiS SI7012 with ALC655 at 0xe000, irq 19
    1 [UART           ]: MPU-401 UART - MPU-401 UART

    2 [Headset        ]: USB-Audio - Logitech USB Headset

    You are not alone!!
    Same problem with Plantronics.
I just bought their Audio 648 Stereo USB Headset and have exactly the same issue you mention at the outset:
Essentially, while my [Plantronics Audio 648] Headset is recognized in the list of devices in System Preferences > Sound, it doesn't do anything in terms of outputting or inputting audio
So Apple, what are you going to do?...
A lot of third party accessory manufacturers must be getting quite frustrated at the numer of complaints they get from Mac users, when it seems its the Mac OS which is to blame...

  • Z77A-G43 B4 Error - Logitech USB Headset

    Hey guys,
I've isolated the B4 error I'm receiving on boot to having my Logitech USB headset plugged in.
Also plugged in via USB are a Logitech G15 Keyboard, a Razer naga mouse, and a WD 2TB USB hard drive, but without the headset, I don't get the error.
Any thoughts on how to correct this?  In the bios it shows up as 2 keyboards, so I'm wondering if the 2 logitech devices are a problem.
    Thanks in advance.

What bios version do you have installed?

  • How to get the last time a record was modified or created ?

Is there a way (hidden system fields for example, system view, other ?) to get the last time a record of a table was modified or the date it was created.

I know I could do this with a trigger, but I was wondering if there is a data dictionary view I can query to find the date/time a table was last updated. What I have is a table that is constantly getting hammered with new data being uploaded from a third party. We need to keep close tabs to verify that this datafeed is constantly running and bringing in new data. Because the data that comes in comes from multiple timezones and there are hundreds of lines, our attempts at monitoring by just looking at the data leave something to be desired.

  • How can I get the number of distinct records that each field of a DB table has?

    Hi everyone,
I would like to know how to get he number of distinct records that each field of a DB table has. When tracing a SQL statement either in ST12 or ST05, in the plan execution, if the sentence made useage of an index, then I can click in the index name and see this kind of information (no. of distinct values for each field of that index).
Can I do something like this but with the whole fields of a table?
What I have found until now is in Tx ST10; I search for whatever kind of table statistics and then use the function of "Analyze table" (which takes me to Tx DB05). In here, I can enter a table and up to 5 fields in order to get the information that I want.
Is there any other way to do this?

    Hi David,
You can export the same to excel and sort as per requirement.

  • How do I get my old Surround Mixer recording sources back?

I recently had my computer repaired where I basically had a complete overhaul. In the process they installed a second soundcard (the one that went with the new motherboard) alongside my original Creative Sound Blaster Audigy card (Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum eX). Before, when I would record audio into my computer, I opened the Surround Mixer software and in the record pulldown menu it showed all of the inputs as they relate to my Audigy interface (SPDIF, Aux In 2, Line In 2, etc.). Now when I open the Surround Mixer software, I only get generic options such as Analog Mix, CD Digital, Microphone, etc. and therefore I can't get any outside audio into my computer.
I figured the computer?was defaulting to the?new sound card so I disabled the onboard audio in my BIOS and then installed the Creative Sound Blaster Series 2 Driver. I clicked on the driver and it said that it needed to uninstall another driver that was already there. The install went a little funny and it got hung up a couple of times. Then, I couldn't get Surround Mixer to work at all so I went to the Creative website and installed Software Auto Update. I downloaded and installed all the critical components?but that also went a little funny. It took about three tries and it didn't seem like it actually finished installing, but when I checked on Auto Update again, it said that I was up to date and that everything had installed. I noticed at the beginning that it installed a new version of Surround Mixer but when I opened it later, it still had those same generic options, not the the ones that match my external interface.
What do I need to do to get my original settings back?

    >Re: How do I get my old Surround Mixer recording sources back?p audiodrome,
Is the external Audigy Dri've properly connected? Does the Plat Ex have the rear jacks? If so, can you record from the rear LineIn or mic jack and play sound files through headphones or speakers? What happens when you run the Creative Diagnostic? What does Device Manager show? Otherwise, yes, uninstall and reinstall the Creative software. If your install CD has a repair option, try that first. However, you may find you need to remove the Audigy from your PC, reboot without it, and then reinstall everything. Some Soundblaster cards don't play well with some integrated soundcards, so you may also want to disable the integrated soundcard in BIOS.
