Getting message: can not connect to iTunes store
Getting a message when I try to log in to iTunes or app store. Getting message can not connect to iTunes store.
Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it! It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

When trying to download an app, I get the "can not connect to itunes store" in spite of being signed in. What is blocking this?

After upgrading to IOS 5, I can not purchase anything from the app store. I get the message "Can not connect to iTunes store". I am able to get updates from the app store only through my phone. Also, Game center I.D. wasn't accepted. It said the user name was already taken. Had to create a new one.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Power cycle the router.
Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved. -
TS3694 Error message in App Store saying "Can not connect to iTunes Store"?
Just started using my iPad 3 that I just recieved for my birthday a few days ago. Last night went to download a new App from the App store, which was free. After hitting the "free" button and continuing on and hitting the "download App" button I received an error message saying "Can Not connect to iTunes Store" and the word "OK" under that to make it go away. I continued on with other games to see if it was just an issue with that one but no matter what i hit it says that same error message. I spent hours on the phone with Apple Support only to have the gentlemen have me save everything on my iPad onto my iTunes on my PC and then start to Restore to Factory setting and then was told if had any issues to call them back. I left the room for about 5 min. only to come back to have an error message saying "The ipad could not be restored, an unknown error occurred (3014). I was just wondering if anyone else is having any issues similiar to mine. Please advise. My next step is to call back up and ask to speak to a Support Specialist the gentlemen said..once it goes to the "restore" point regular tech support can not help he explained.. Just frustrated after spending over 1 1/2 hrs on the phone to have gotten nowhere and now have to call back and start again with something brand new.. I just think i got a lemon!!

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

A window popped up asking me to type in my Apple ID password to get downloads, but it was showing an old username/email address. When I went to Settings/App Store to change it all I get is "Can not connect to iTunes". Any suggestions on what to do?
I tried turning off and back on, I was connected to my laptop for power and I was on WiFi.Apparently when I updated my software this morning it logged me off my Wifi for some reason (even though the wifi icon at the top of the screen indicated it was using it), I logged back in and could connect.

Whenever I buy something in game, it says that " can not connect to itunes store". Why???? I fill all my payment information in app Store, bt I couldnt buy any thing. Why???
Additonally, at this point I really want to talk to someone who cares about how a customer like I might feel in such a situation and when I call corporate would like to talk to someone who is interested in hearing my input as it really sucks to think I really don't feel like going to the store anymore and would rather just buy stuff on amazon or newegg these days instead;/ When I know how much i used to enjoy going into the store and getting friendly with kind staff who worked with me to get the best deal on the items I got--perhaps this was because it was at a more desperate time when Best Buys fate as a company was more precarious prior to price matching taking origin. Also, on an aside, would like to add that obviously there is always the one or two people who go out of their way to make sure you have an excellent expeirenece so I am not trying to make any sweeping generalizations here. In fact, I find the forum contributors to be among the most kind and helpful, but that might be because they don't have to deal with the now seemingly dreaded "pricematch" epidemic;D

See the IT Guy and ask about any "Other Security WiFi Blocks"
Other locations [Secure WiFi] -
Try a location with a Non Secure WiFi -> As these locataions "typically" do not have a IT Guy to go to for questions regarding [Other Security WiFi Blocks]
Non-Secure WiFi -
Then try the steps below [Even with the others listed above]
Just because you may be able to get to a Secure and Non Secure Website on safari on the iphone does not mean the WiFi connection is "Perfect or ok" and I am not saying it is not.
Also take into effect servers for iTunes updates/Apps etc could be overloaded at that time.
You can also try a simple Hard Reset [Hold down Sleep/Wake button and Home button at same time - Once see Apple Logo release both buttons - Allow iphone to reset]
If have already tried these and have not contacted AppleCare Support try that too.
