Getting message I'm not connected to Internet when I am.

I'm taking a Photoshop Elements 11 class. I'm trying to import Graphics, backgrounds, etc into a picture and keep getting the message I'm not connected to the Internet. I am. Tried asking the college support for help and they think it's coming from Adobe's side. Funny thing is I can get a few of the graphics, just not most.

Well I haven't done anything different to my computer, but my downloads are suddenly working. Like magic. Like I said, what a waste of time when it was Adobe having the problem. Just wish they knew what they were doing. Thanks all for your help. Now trying to download and open up as many graphics as possible before it crashes again.
I went to the Adobe site and posted this problem. No solution. Someone else posted they were having the same problem and this was the response.
Response from Photoshop Tech:
The Photoshop.com error is because the Photoshop.com sharing/editing/hosting service was discontinued. You should have received email about that starting in February.

Any version of iChat or the Message beta will have issues if you have two connections to the internet.
In fact iChat 4 in Leopard has the worst issues particularly if the computer you are on is Sharing the Internet with other devices (See System Preferences > Sharing > Internet Sharing)
iChat can just about manage in Text Chats to connect with other people.
In Video Chats and Audio Only chats and Screen Sharing ichat needs to be in "One Place"
With two IPs issued from a router for Wifi and Ethernet (See the differences in System Preferences > Network for Ethernet and Advanced Button > TCP tab for Wifi) means that iChat looks like it is in two places.
It is worse if you share the Wifi of a neighbour and use Ethernet yourself.
Using Ethernet may get your computer to access the DNS servers from your router more consistently so that Messages can find the place to download iChat 6 (There is evidence that both downloading Messages Beta and registering the Apple ID needs the correct or adequate DNS server info to work properly)

The point you make though, that a Ethernet connection may work better, is valid.

Why do I keep getting message that not connected to Internet when trying to access amazon yet am very obviously am still connected as can access the apple site or banking sites. Have tried resetting.

I have tried everything I could to fix this, but some things require actually being on Firefox, and since I cannot get on, I cannot click on the tabs to do it. I have even totally uninstalled firefox, and that has not fixed this. I still get the same message that firefox is running and I need to close it or restart (which I have also tried dozens of times). I have removed things like Java, and that has not helped either. If I cannot even get on line in firefox, how can I fix this. I am not crazy about using internet explorer, but right now, it is my only option. I even tried to start in safe mode, and the same message box pops up!

This is what worked for me: Double tap your home button to bring up the programs running in the back ground, press and hold so they show the red close option and close all programs. After that shut your iphone down and power back on. Immediately go to General>Software Update and it should work. Good Luck

Error message "not connected to internet" when trying to sign in to BB id with Mac laptop

I have a Mac laptop and was forced to remove the original BB Link OS when the Z10 launched. I replaced the OS with the current one but now it doesn't allow me to use my Mac's computer name eg. John Smith's Mac book. I can only use a single name. I suspect that is why I'm not getting the itune's library to load. Also, I can't sign into my BB id, I get a message that says I'm not connected to the internet. I've taken the firewall off as I heard that was a solution with Windows but it didn't work. Any ideas?

i have the same problem. I have window 7 pc. I had to use internet to download link so i don't understand why it is not allowing me to use link or do set up. I uninstalled my previous bb desktop driver in hopes that would help. It didn't. I appreciate any help on this forum

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
Apple has started to get "tough" with hacked iPhones, & simply won't permit their activation.
