Getting message"insufficient bandwidth"when trying to connect ichat video

I have tried all the suggested tips.
I've updated software, changed quicktime streaming to my 256kbps dsl speed and I still get "insufficient bandwidth" message.
The other computer I"m contacting has same settings as mine.
Is there an apple customer service phone number I can call to get this issue resolved or can someone please assist me on the message board?
Thanks!

Ok Folks,
IS your Mac Firewall On ?
If so it will need to have the iChat Ports Enabled in System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall tab.
Select the New Button and add the ports after selecting Other in the top drop down.
http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/page4.html
iChat, like other applications and games does not use the defalt ports that are open in your modem and or routers and need the ports opened there as well.
http://www.ralphjohnsuk.dsl.pipex.com/page3.html
If these are set then you need to make sure the Quicktime Streaming spped is set to your Download speed.
To go with this you also need to make sure that the setting in iChat > Preferences > Video section > BAndwidth Limit drop down is set to NONE - as the Bandwidth can be capped by this setting.

I keep getting an unknown error when trying to connect to the store. I ran diagnostics and it says secure link to itunes store failed. I've tried all suggestions from apple and nothing will work.
    Please Help

I received this email from Apple and this corrected the problem for me...  I only had to reset the iTunes cache
    1) Open iTunes
    2) At the top menu, click File > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac)
    3) In the Preferences menu, click the Advanced tab
    4) In the Advanced menu, you should see a button that says "Reset Cache". Please click this button.

  • Keep getting sync service error when trying to connect my iphone 5S.

Keep getting sync service error when trying to connect my iphone 5S. It freezes itunes and I can't do anything else. I see that there is an update for my phone and I need to back up, upload new apps, etc before installing. I plug my phone in and get this error every time. I am using a Win 7 SP1

    Howdy Susie48825,
It sounds like you are getting an error that mentions the sync services when you connect your phone to your computer and so you cannot sync your device. I would use the troubleshooting from the following article that  mentions an error regardign the sync services named:
iTunes for Windows: "Unable to load data class" or "Unable to load provider data" sync services alert
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2690
    Start with these steps:
    1. Check that iTunes is up-to-date
Ensure that you have updated to the latest version of iTunes.
    2. Reset Sync History
Resetting your Sync History is a simple step which may resolve some syncing issues. If this works, iTunes will prompt to Merge or Replace the information on your device when you next attempt to sync. To reset your Sync History:
    Disconnect your device.
    Open iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    Click the Devices tab.
Click the Reset Sync History button, and then reconnect your device.
If this resolves the issue, and you know all of your contacts, calendars, bookmarks and notes are on your computer:
Reset the Sync History again using the steps above.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" select Contacts or Calendars.
    Click Apply.
If the issue persists, and you know all your contacts, calendars, bookmarks and notes are on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
Remove all of the contact and calendar information from Outlook.
Select the device in iTunes and click the Info tab.
Scroll down to the Advanced section, and under "Replace information on this iPhone/iPad/iPod touch" make sure Contacts and Calendars are not selected.
    Click Apply.
There are additional steps to use in the article if needed, but these will get you started.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,
    Sterling

i keep getting error code 3212 when trying to connect to home sharing.. i am connected to the internet

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

I'm getting a blank screen when trying to connect to my App Store.how can I fix this?

  • I'm getting error code -54 when trying to connect to iTunes store...

    Hello,
I have been receiving the following message code all week when trying to connect to the store:
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store, An unknown error occurred (-54).
Make sure your network connection is active and try again"
    My internet connection works fine.
Some other strange things that are happening on my MBP with leopard, is that Virus Barrier flashes up IP address after IP address trying to connect to some 5 digit port time and time and time again when I use Skype or any P2P sharing software – rendering them pretty much unusable (a DoS attack maybe?).
I had started this thread beforehand, I don't know if they are related with the iTunes error code mentioned above.

    Any advice much appreciated.

When my Dad is away, I like to talk to him on iChat.
When my Dad tries to invite me to a video/audio chat, it comes up with a message, saying: insufficient bandwidth to run this conference.
I have tried altering the bandwidth on Preferences, but it doesn't seem to work!?!?!
    Any answers to my question?

  • After reinstall of OS on iBook G4, getting an AirPort error when trying to connect to wireless network

Just erased and reinstalled the OS (Tiger OS X v10.4) on my old iBook G4 so I could give a wiped clean laptop to my young son. At the point in the reinstall process where I Select a Wireless Service. When I enter the correct password for my correctly selected home wireless network, it responds with a message box that says, "AirPort error. There was an error joining the selected network." What now? Should I just select "My computer does not connect to the Internet" so I can get past this point? But the fact is, connecting to the internet is about the only thing he's going to use it for. Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh! Please help! All advice welcome...

Thanks for your response, but the initial problem is that I'm still stuck in the set-up process. I can't move past this screen to get to anything else unless I can get it to accept my wireless network password, or I suppose I could go back one screen to the "How Do You Connect?" screen and select "My computer does not connect to the Internet." I presume that might get me past this set-up phase into an area where I could futz around with settings. But I was concerned about disabling something I couldn't fix later (me, not a techie!) by selecting that. What's the consensus? Should I just do that so I can get out of the set-up process? Will I be able to reactivate my AirPort once I'm just in operating mode? I really should be more technically proficient than this...

  • Only get message error -2000 when trying to play DVDs

I just downloaded Quicktime Pro and I have Quicktime 7.0 My computer is PC running windows Vista. When I drag the file to the Quicktime icon to play a DVD using the player it says error -2000. If I try to open the file Quicktime is not an option. Does anyone else have this problem? What do I do?

I'm having the same problem. Until this week, the .mov files my friend was making for me with his camera played through Quicktime without a problem. They opened automatically, but only through the DVD player. Currently, after updating (thinking that was the problem) I can see that there is a file on the disc when in the DVD slot, but if I try to open it, I get error -2000. If I place it in the CD slot, it looks like an empty disc. When I did a system restore and went back to the old version of Quicktime that has worked in the past, I had the same problem.
I'm wondering why it played from DVD before, but not now? Any ideas???

  • I get "wrong password" error when trying to connect to a Wifi network.

Only workarround is to reset network settings before changing to any wifi network. This is a pain. Please help!

It's any network. If I reset network settings, I can connect at home, but I get the "wrong password" but not at work. Then, if I reset it again, I can conect at work, but not at home.
Only way to switch Wifi network is through a "reset network settings" operation.
On my wive's iPhone 5 this problem does not exist. She can commute seemlessly among WIFI networks.

  • Getting error 789 when trying to connect with a PC remotely via VPN

When we set up the VPN we are getting a Error 789 when trying to connect with a PC. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The utilities, provided on the CD, are not required for the PC to access the Internet through the 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn). They are only necessary for administering the base station.
If your PC is currently configured as a DHCP client, it shouldn't have any issues connecting by Ethernet. The AEBSn will assign the appropriate IP addresses required for connectivity to the Internet ... just like it does for wireless clients.

    Hi Guys,

I have looked into the intgserver.jar under P6IntegrationAPI/lib and looked the com.primavera.infr.srvcs.MailServiceImpl.java and can see that there is no destroy method whereas it is defined in the com.primavera.bre.intergration.intgconf.xml as below
