Getting message "operation could not be completed because of an error occurred when creating frame 294

Fcpx wont let me share/export. I keep getting this message. Any idea why? I'm using Pixel Studio Film plug ins. Could they be the problem?

Hi thecluemusic.com,
Did updating the FCPX software work for your issue? I'm having the exact same issue with exporting my current project to a master file.
How do you update the software?
Thanks,
Alicia

  • Error 8062 when I try to copy or move files on my macbook: "This operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8062)". Can even not install new software now!!

Since a few days when I try to copy or move files on my macbook, I often get an error message saying "This operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code -8062)". And then it just quits the copy or move.
I searched a lot on the internet, but only found solutions for cases you cannot empty the trash due to this issue.
I tried those solutions for my trash and that helped after some trying.
However, I still have the problem with copying and moving files.
I even cannot install new software now, as it has to copy itself to the programs-directory, and gives the same error-message.
    Who can help me??
Cannot seem to find any info on it on the support-forums or elsewhere.
    My user-account is administrator, I use a 13" Macbook Aluminium (Late 2008). Mac OS X 10.6.8 CPU 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, RAM: 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Tips I received so far (thanks to A-Mac via Twitter http://www.a-mac.nl and Remco Kalf http://www.remcokalf.nl/)
    - make sure you have at least 10% of your harddisk in free space (I had only 5%).
    - do a PRAM-reset (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379)
    - perform a hardware test (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509)
    - make a complete backup (with for example Carbone Clone Copier, see http://www.bombich.com/)
    - after complete backup: use diskwarrior (boot from Diskwarrior DVD, first perform diagnostics, then perform "Rebuild" which rebuilds your file directory).
So far I only cleared up some space on my HD, and already the problem occurs less.
Still, I will go through the other tips too.

  • I have a pop up window that says "Sorry the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (Error code -61). What does that mean?

I am using a portable USB storage drive connected to my laptop.  I am trying to delete a file from the USB drive but it is not working. A pop up window appears that says "Sorry the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (Error code -61)". What does that mean and how do I fix it?  Thank you.

All I can tell you is that is a write permissions error. How is this drive formatted? Check the file's permissions. You can try:
Open the Terminal application in the Utilities folder. At the prompt enter:
    sudo rm -rf
Leave a space after "-rf" and drag the file into the Terminal window. Press RETURN. You will be prompted to enter your admin password which will not be echoed.

  • Operation Could Not Be Completed Because An Unexpected Error Occured (Error Code -50)

Hi, I'm trying to copy files to my external drive. (3TB - Formatted to Mac OS Extended (Journaled)) and I keep getting this error.  I have been looking it up on Google and in the forums and it seems the common problem is that the drive is formatted Fat32, which mine is not.  The files I'm moving are between 1-3 GB each.  This was all working fine until yesterday, and now I can't get it to work.  I recently deleted some music files from the drive, but the trash has been emptied and is clean as far as I can see.  I can move things off of this drive or access them on the drive just fine, I am just not able to add new files, but there is plenty of room to do so - (2.75 TB of free space.)
    Any help would be appreciated.

Try partitioning the drive. If you can't do that either, it's malfunctioning. Try another cable. Failing that, you may be able to salvage the drive mechanism by removing it from the enclosure and installing it in another one.

The permissions are fine, and I have trashed the finder plist and reset the NVRAM.

  • Help! Message "pdf could not be saved because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different l

I had the contents of my (dying) ibook transferred onto my emac. The tech created a new user/desktop on the emac. Now, when I try to open PDF files from a website, I get a drop down window saying this:
"Downloading - users/myname/desktop/xxxxx.pdf could not be saved because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to a different location."
Points to note: 1) The "xxxxx.pdf" part of the above message changes each time I try to open a pdf document, even the same one, and it does not show the real name of the document (e.g. CollegeApplication.pdf). The xxxxx.pdf is usually written as gibberish, like "86hgkjh.pdf" or "sdfj99f.pdf."
    2) this never happened on my laptop;
    3) the settings are set in Firefox to download pdf's to my desktop;
    4) I have the latest version of Adobe Reader, which I already tried opening before downloading;
    5) the settings are also set to open pdfs using adobe.

I had the same problem when I installed Firefox 3, but I think the problem is due to my recent hard drive upgrade. Try changing the download location from "Desktop" in Microsoft Internet Explorer and all other browsers (Safari, Firefox, etc.) to whatever default location you prefer. I never use Internet Explorer, but I think somehow my settings were corrupted when I upgraded my hard drive. I found this solution on another site also.

  • The operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)

I have a Seagate Central 3tb NAS (latest firmware) attached to my wireless router (Netgear wndr3400v3).  I have a late 2011 macbook pro with Yosemite on it.  When I go through finder to use my NAS I keep getting "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)" .  I only get it when I am trying to copy a big folder with other folders and files with in.   I can copy a single file or create folders.  If i try to copy a folder with 100 pics in it then I get the error.  I can create the folder on the NAS and select all 100 files.  When I drag them to the NAS, then they copy with no problems.  Every so often my time machine has an error and says that it has to create a new backup. I read some where to make sure that "put hard disk to sleep when possible" should be selected in the energy saver in preferences.  Still no luck.  A can also drag any file from the NAS back to my laptop or view them from the NAS with no problems.
Thanks for any help in advance.

    Hi there,
Well I have exactly the same problem! Recently I reset my WD My book White light (2 x 1TB RAID disk), due to the fact that the disk ran full because of TimeMachine.
I reset the disk, and now I can only write some files to it, but most give this error code.
I wrote to WD, but they could not give an answer.
Q: did you update the firmware? Maybe that is causing the problem, in that it is maybe not consistant in the filesystem?

  • Hi Friends... I'm trying to delete a back-up file on mu TC but I get the message "The operation could not be completed because the item "bands" is in use. I'd like to start the Back from scratch, could help me out with deleting the current file?

    Hi Friends...
I’m trying to delete a back-up file on mu TC but I get the message “The operation could not be completed because the item “bands” is in use. I’d like to start the Back from scratch, could help me out with deleting the current file?

Sorry, I am very confused. I asked the following question....
Is this the only backup file on your Mac, or do you have other backup files and data on the Time Capsule disk?
The answer that you gave was....
    This is the only one
    Now you are saying that....
But I have lots of other files on Time Capsule! The back up file is only one of them.
    Can you clarify, please?

  • HT201250 i'm getting message: can't be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents. and he operation can't be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003).

I took my computer in to have the Backup restored onto my computer after having a new harddrive put onto my 1year 1/2 old MacBook Pro. When i got it home there was a new User that i had to logout of to getting into my normal user. Don't know why this was, just figured the Mac guys that installed my backup did this for some odd reason. Today i could not open any of my files in the backup on the time machine. All the folder had line going thought them and when i clicked on them I revieved this message: can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents. After talking with that same mac store. I decided to just delete all the files out of the time machine as it was just put back on my computer and i have everything i need. Hours later when i tried to empty the trash i got this messsage: the operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -8003).
Any advise how to fix my problem?
    thanks in advance

While you see a single trash can, in reality there are trash folders on each mounted volume.  I don't use TM but what you are describing implies that a TM drive is no different with the way trash is treated.  So when the TM is unmounted the trash folder on there is gone and thus the trash looks empty.  Remount the drive, the trash folder on it now causes the trashcan to look like something is in it.
If TrashIt! could not remove the file, I'm sorry, you will need to use the terminal.  We can do this one step at a time so you only have to copy/paste the lines into terminal (except the first time).  So launch Terminal (in utilities).  You might want to make the window that is shown a bit larger with the grow box since it's pretty small.
This first line is the only exception to the copy/pasting since you have to enter some information.
    sudo ls -laR /Volumes/your-TM-volume-name/.Trashes
where your-TM-volume-name is the name of your TM volume.  That's the part you have to fill in since I don't know it.
When you hit return the sudo in that command will cause a prompt for your admin password.  Enter it and hit return again.  Note the password will not be shown as you type it.  Post the results so I can tell you what to do next.
Note this ls command is not doing anything but listing the files in the TM's .Trashes folder.  Remember I said each drive has it's own trash folder.  .Trashes is it.

  • The operation could not be completed because an item with the name xyz already exists

I am trying to make a click and drag backup on an external FAT 32 drive to compliment my Time Machine backup (long story) and I've done this each time by dragging my critical folders into the drive. I get a message asking me to stop, replace or skip, and whether to apply to all items. i click replace, apply all, and let it go.
however, one stubborn folder refuses to comply. every single time I click and drag a group of folder that includes that one, I get a message saying "the operation could not be completed because an item with the name xyz already exists" even after I selected the the "apply all" prompt. at which point, the Mac stops transferring ALL the other files.
I figured, OK, i'll just transfer the other folders individually and then deal with this folder later. so I do that, and once I get to the offending folder, I try to transfer just that one folder into the drive. no good; I get the operation message again. I decide to just transfer the contents of the folder, rather than the folder itself. No good, I just get the operation message about one of the folders within the main folder.
anyone know the cause, or at least a fix?

If you've installed a system modification called "TotalFinder," remove it according to the developer's instructions after backing up all data. Log out, log back in, and try again.
Otherwise, open the Info dialog on both the source and the destination volumes. What is the Format of each? For example, it might be "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)".

  • Operation could not be completed because "whatever file i'm copying" is in use

Ever since upgrading my 2012 Mac Air to Mavericks, I've been seeing this error message sporadically when copying files to my SMB share on my raspberrypi.
I'm not sure if it's just coincidence with the os upgrade, and I'm not sure how to consistently reproduce the problem.
"Operation could not be completed because "whatever file I'm copying" is in use".
It doesn't seem to matter if I'm copying one file or a bunch of files. Randomly, that message will pop up, and then the copy will stop.

I've restarted the mac quite a few times, with and without the reopen option checked. Made sure the first thing to do was to copy those files to the other server. The only thing that could be using the files, would be Finder itself. It seems like when I have a list of files to copy, the message will pop up somewhere in the middle of the list. All the files previous to the error have been copied correctly. All files including the one in the error message and after it, don't get copied.
If the first or only file is particularly large, the error may pop up. When the message does pop up, it is always after a few minutes of copying, never right away.
Never had this problem prior to the Mavericks upgrade.

  • Operation could not be completed because you dont have access to some files

    Hi guys,
Recently since an update not long ago ever since i have been trying to copy stuff into my NAS (Thecus N5200) it comes up with a problem saying
"Operation could not be completed because you do not have access to some files"
I have read some places who say that this is due to some permission errors or some of the files get locked somehow and means you cant copy it properly however i have checked these files and it is not the case. I have looked online and even called up Apple to see what they could tell me but even they said that they havent had any calls regarding this problem before. The person from Apple suggested i try doing a Disk Permissions repair and for a while it works...but 5 minutes later it happens again.
What can i do to fix it? I will be extremely unhappy if i have to keep doing this every time i copy something. Sometimes Repair Disk Permissions wont change a **** thing. This is ******** because its never happened before and only started recently

sorry for the long correspondance. I sort of "forgot" about this thread and was using usb to transfer files (which is quite annoying).
AFP is enabled which means i believe it is connecting to the server through AFP. The funny thing is that it copies pretty much all the way to the end and then says "operation could not be completed because you dont have access to some files" . Im not sure what it has to do with disk permissions but sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesnt.
Thanks for the link Barney, looks like im not the only one suffering from these issues. I was connecting via smb://server before, i just tried mounting it via afp://xxx.xxx.x.xx . i will see how it goes but some people say its slower? for documents i dont mind but i hope apple comes up with a solution. i dont want to be copying large tv show files to the server at anything less than what i was getting before
edit: i just looked at the logs of previous connections with servers on the mac and i found there was a difference between how i mounted this server recently and it a while back. recently i had been trying to connect using smb://n5200 and in the past before snowleopard it had been smb://N5200. I tried once again to connect using smb://N5200 and it works flawlessly (for the moment). im going to keep trying to copy different files to see if its "fixed". perhaps the introduction of snowleopard made the OS more picky about capitals.
    i shall keep you informed

  • What does "The operation could not be completed because an error occurred when creating frame 0 (error -1)." mean, and why does it keep happening?

So I've been trying to export a video file from Motion 5 (and FCPX), and I keep recieving the message "The operation could not be completed because an error occurred when creating frame 0 (error -1)". I've found the problem has something to do with a video file in the project, Ive tried multiple versions of said file, in multiple formats (.mov, h264, etc.), and I keep getting the same result.  The file was originaly a 640x480 wmv file. Any suggestions?

I ended up figuring out a solution, but I'll get to that in a sec.
To answer your question, I converted the .wmv file in a program called Media Converter (available in the App store), and converted it to an h.264 file (then later to a .mov file, and then to an .mpg). I could view the file, and work with it in projects, but any project I tried to output with any version of said file, would result in the afor mentioned message, with the same results in FCPX (and Compressor 4 as well).  I tried multiple frame rates, resolutions, files types, re-converting the file, all with no luck.  My impression from said experiments, and reading other discussions was that it was a corrupt file.
Then I got frisky...and a little desperate. I brought the converted file (the .wmv to .mov) into Motion 4... and an export worked first try.  So I exported a pro-res file from Motion 4, and used that file in the already built Motion 5 project, and voila!
So, who knows what that means in real terms, as for the whats and whys.
