  • Thinkpad X220 There has been a signature failure Crash

    Hello,
My thinkpad threw the blue screen of death  repeatedly and each time I booted it was very slow. I logged in to safe mode to delete some temporary files. When i rebooted it went to the lenovo recovery mode where it looked like it was not doing anything much. I waited for about 45 minutes and did not see any progress on the progress bar. So, rebooted it and then came the "there has been a signation failure error".
So I tried to boot it with the windows cd to see if I could repair it and it went up to the point of copying files after which it just hung going in a signature failure loop.
Now all i see when i start the system is there has been a signature Failure message.
Has anyone faced this situation before?
How do i restore windows 7? all i can access is the bios mode.
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello and welcome,
I don't have a solution for you but a quick Google of  "clone There has been a signature failure" pulls up quite a few hits.  One common theme is that the wrong partition is set active.  Here are a two of the hits:

What software did you use to clone the drive?  Was it a full drive clone?  All partitions?

  • Imaging Lenovo T420s: "There has been a signature failure"

Has anyone successfully cloned an OEM Lenovo laptop drive using ZCM 10.3.4? I can create the image just fine, but after restoring said image to another machine, it will not boot and simply yields the error "There has been a signature failure." I understand that this has something to do with Lenovo's non-standard MBR layout and that you can issue the -IB switch when using Ghost to successfully image these things, but what about ZCM? My repeated attempts to research a fix have proven unsuccessful, but surely someone out there has gotten this working...Right? I'll wipe the drive and install from scratch if I have to, but I'd much prefer to get a modified OEM image working.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the suggestion, but we don't have a support maintenance agreement, so I'll likely end up wiping and installing from scratch if I can't get OEM imaging working.

  • Lenovo G530 There Has Been A Signature Failure

Hi all.  I have a Lenovo G530.  I followed the manual on how to do an original system restore through BIOS.  Now I keep getting 'There Has Been A Signature Failure'.   I've read online about the partitions, but i don't know how to access them to get me to the next step.
    Any help is appreciated.

  • " There has been a signature failure"

    Hi everyone,
I am getting this error message in T61, which has XP pro. I tried what ever I found on internet to resolve it, but no solution. I booted with window 98 to get command prompt, and used fdisk/mbr, again no success.
I took out harddisk and connected to other laptop and I can see there are two partition on harddisk, and one of them is recovery partition.
Is there any way I can make bootable XP cd with the data present in recovery partition by attaching this hard disk  as external drive to other laptop?
Or is there any way to update the missing files which are giving this error?
    Thanks

The SIM card In my iPhone 5 has been giving me occasional messages that there has been a SIM Failure, there is NO SIM, or that there is an INVALID SIM.  Until today, I was able to restart it with no problem and the SIM card would start up.  This afternoon the NO SIM message came up and I cannot fix it. What is my next step?  I am traveling in Canada now and it is not convenient to come back to the States just to get a SIM card.
    Thanks,
    Lou

    Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.  How can I initiate Verizon sending me a new SIM card?  I will be here  long enough to receive it if they can send it to me.
I have been trying to call Verizon Wireless, but they won’t take my call from my Skype account and I don’t have my phone.
    Thanks again,
    Lou

When I attempt to sign in to my administrator (or other) account  the computer hesitates, the password "dots) gray out, and the message, "There has been an error" appears.  I have tried the usual methods of password recovery but nothing has worked so far.  I would appreciate any help you can give me.  Thank you very much for your attention to my problem.

    I have MacKeeper installed
    Oh dear.
Many users will see references to an application called MacKeeper on various web sites and via pop-ups on their browser. Not only is it expensive for what it purports to do (freeware applications that do the same or more are readily available), it can sometimes install itself without the user realising it, and it can be very tricky to get rid of.
Most positive reviews of it have been found to have been paid for by Zeobit (developers of MacKeeper) in the form of ‘free upgrades’ etc. For example (posted by fellow contributor Softwater), on their Facebook page and on their webpage they have this apparent endorsement from UNC Charlotte:
    https://discussions.apple.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadImage/2-18670779-12515 7/450-259/Screen+Shot+2012-06-17+at+17.04.04.png
Softwater contacted the Director of IT at the College of Arts and Architecture UNC Charlotte, about whether they endorse MacKeeper and his response, quoted here, was:
No, please do not download and install MacKeeper. We have seen problems with this software in the past.
MacKeeper has been described by various sources as highly invasive malware* that can de-stablize your operating system, adding that it is unethically marketed, with a history of making false advertising claims, by a company called Zeobit and a rip-off.
For more details about Zeobit’s alledgedly fraudulent advertising and paid-for ‘reviews’, and their dubious marketing practises, read this:

Further opinion on it and how to uninstall MacKeeper malware can be read here:
    http://applehelpwriter.com/2011/09/21/how-to-uninstall-mackeeper-malware/
MacKeeper have recently said that the uninstaller from here:

    now works.

  • Download iTunes app get message account has been disabled

As you can see, I am able to log into the community to post, but, when I attempt to download the Citrix Receiver app from iTunes, after entering the same username and password I used to get into the community, I receive a message, my account has been disabled. Can anyone tell me how to resolve this. I need the Citrix Receiver to access applications.
    Kind regards,
    Jim

If you see a message that your account has been disabled for security reasons:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2446
If your account is just disabled, you'll have to email iTunes Support to have it reenabled. You'd probably know if your account was completely disabled, as this typically happens if you reported unauthorized activity through iTunes, a pay service or financial institution. You can contact iTunes Support here:

    Hope this helps!

  • InfoPath form, rich text fields, "There was a form postback error" InvalidOperationException, There has been an error while processing the form

Using InfoPath 2013 browser enabled form.
I am getting the above error on ALL Infopath Designed Rich Text fields, where the "Cannot be blank" attribute is set.
To reproduce it, I create a custom list and custom list form with InfoPath 2013. I add 2 Rich Text fields and enable "cannot be blank". To raise the error, I put some data in the RT field. Skip to another field (so focus is changed and a postback
occurs), then back to original field to delete the contents (to raise the validation).
I originally thought it was associated with the HTMLCHKR.DLL not being registered (and I have re-registered it just in case), but the exception I get from the ULS logs reads (it is from a list AFTER I have re-registered the DLL):
    There was a form postback error. (User: 0#.w|myDomain\jc, Form Name: Template, IP: , Request: h t t p ://MyWebApp/MySite/Lists/rtAfterHtmlCHkrReg/Item/newifs.aspx?List=2212ff41-77b4-445b-931b-d7e538c9da91&Source=h t t p://MyWebApp/MySite/Lists/rtAfterHtmlCHkrReg/AllItems.aspx&RootFolder=&Web=3db49106-bdca-47bb-b4cd-a549d2d86aa7,
Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:list:-AutoGen-2015-01-16T21:51:48:853Z, Type: InvalidOperationException, Exception Message: No content generated as the result of the operation.) 8cc5e09c-3665-903b-575a-faaac506c40a
I noticed that errors associated with the HTMLCHKR.DLL not being registered would have some sort of COM exception (example: TYPE_E_LIBNOTREGISTERED or REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)
I also should mention that this problem started happening about 3 weeks ago. We have extended the web application to handle HTTPS on the intranet zone (we had a reverse proxy project that did not eventuate) - would that cause something? How can I do further
    checking?

    Hi,
I have done a test in my SharePoint, and I met the same issue with you.
I created a custom list and custom list form with InfoPath 2013. I added 2 Rich Text fields and enabled "cannot be blank".  I put some content in the RT field, then delete the contents, I got the error message:"there has been an
    error while processing the form."
Here is a similar post said that executing the command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\
    OFFICE14\htmlchkr.dll" will solve the issue.
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/eb2e0f6e-c8e4-4e92-ac5e-a09d72759eda/rich-text-field-error-in-webform?forum=sharepointcustomizationprevious
But I just disabled "cannot be blank", and it solved the issue.

  • I thing I have some phishing going on, there has been some emails going around that I haven't sent plus getting emails from friends who haven't sent them, what to do?

I think I have some phishing going on, there has been some emails I have received from people I know that haven't been sent also people have said I've sent out some when I haven't , how do I investigate this?

What you describe is generally not an issue with your computer. Everyone gets phishing e-mails unless you or your ISP has blocked them.
As for e-mails from friends that they didn't send, these are usually because someone insists on putting 200 address in their e-mails with a link to a cat video. If people used distribution lists or the bcc field for mass mailings, the chance of this is reduced. Probably one of your frineds has a Windows virus that is stealing e-mail addresses, or their hotmail. msn, or outlook account has been hacked.
You probably don't need to do anything from your end

Also, how can I remove duplicate photos in an album without doing it manually?
    Thanks!

When the prompt pops up next time you start iPhoto select Learn more. Then click on iPhoto preferences and select the Accounts tab. Delete your MM account and the quit iPhoto. Next time you open iPhoto the problem should be eliminated.

  • I am constantly getting hte "connection has been reset" message. I followed instructions in the help section for this & now it's worse. I am using 6.0. Please help!

I cannot do anything online because I constantly get the "connection has been reset" message. This has never happened before. I followed instructions on Firefox help page for this message and it only made it worse!

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
You can get it from here, but you are better off using K-Meleon (derived from Firefox) or Opera instead an old version of Firefox:
    [ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/win32/en-US/]
You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz. 3.5 and later supposedly doesn't work.

  • Is there a way to retrieve a text message that has been deleted from my iphone?

Is there a way to retrieve a text message that has been deleted from my iphone?  I did't delete the message but after i synced my phone the message was gone.

No, the app doesn't use Safari.  The app is AutoDesk Inventor Publisher Viewer.  I think there is a way that you can have a publish Inventor file, and if you create a correctly formatted hyperlink, you can click on it and it will immediately open the file in the viewer.
I know that if you offer the file as a standard download, iOS will ask whether you want to open it with Inventor Pub. Viewer or save it to another app that can accept files.  I would prefer to skip the prompt, and just open the viewer.
I've heard mention that this can be done with this application, but I can't find reference material anywhere.
