Getting .mp3 and .wmv from Mac to WM 5 handheld

I have a T-Mobile Dash with Windows Mobile 5.
I have about 85 mp3's and a few .wmv video files I'd like to load onto my handheld (I have a memory chip installed)— from my Mac (which is 0S 10.3.9).
Missing Sync will not link Windows Mobile 5 to OS 10.3.9.
I don't want to sinc calendar or e-mail. I just want to music and, if possible, video from my Mac. Any way to do this directly form my Mac to my Dash? Thx

iSync does not communicate with your SIM card.
You must transfer the contacts you enter in the area of memory dedicated to contact storage onto you SIM, once you've synchronized with your mobile device or sent them a card-at-a-time via Bluetooth.
You can avoid the deletion from your Address Book by first backing up your contacts using the option built into the Address Book to do so, then resetting your synchronization framework and selecting the option to overwrite the information on your handset during the initial synchronization event.
To do so, launch iSync, open the Preferences… pane, press the Reset Sync History… button and follow the instructions which appear. Remember to overwrite the contents of your mobile handset.
Again: synchronized contact information is NOT written to your SIM card. You must manually copy or move such records to your SIM using the software on your device once the data has been transfered to it from your computer.

    The fastest quickest and the easiest is to simply open the external and when it shows up on your mac you DRAG and DROP anything you want from the mac to the external or the other way around. This works both ways.

    Mac book pro running slow and word and excel from Mac not opening

    Call it Monday morning humor.... ALL the MacBook Pro owners we see asking the same thing (more than once a day, too) are slower since 10.10.x so we can assume something. Heard the very same story with every new OS in the past decade from laptop owners, heard a lot especially with Snow Leopard back in Aug-Sept 2009.
    A new OS goes better if you do a clean install / checked Roaringapps.com for compatibility / wait for vendors to have updates
    About the only things that can be done in addition - if you have like many posting those symptoms have minimal 4GB RAM is to upgrade to 8GB+ and throw in a new 250GB+ SSD (the most recent MBP have to be bought with and cannot add RAM later).
    Even the MacBook Air 2014 though with 4GB RAM have PCIe-SSDs that helps, plus 4th gen Intel i5's and an IG of 5000 or later all help.
    Try including more details. Model year and configuration at least.

  • PSE 8 Organizer: Bug in "Get Photos and Videos from Files and Folders"

    In PSE8 Organizer, I have a weird bug that occurs when I am using Get Photos and Videos from Files and Folders on certain folders on my hard drive. If the "Files of Type" filter is left as the default ("Media files (photos, audio, video)"), whenever I click on a file in the file browser, three or four files or folders seem to disappear from the folder. I can keep clicking on different items until every file and folder has apparently vanished from the folder. Looking in Windows Explorer, the files and folders are still there, and if I switch the "Files of Type" filter to "All Files", everything reappears and the behavior no longer occurs.
    I'm not sure why only certain folders show this behavior. It may have something to do with the types of files or folders in the folder I'm looking at, but I'm not sure.
    Has anyone else seen this happen?

    Are you on Win 7? If the files in the Get Photos dialog disappear after you select them,confirm if the names of selected files/folders is shown under the File name . If yes, you can import these files by clicking Open. You should find the issue addressed in E9.
    Thanks

  • WIFI "gets confused" and times out (Mac Mini late 2014)

    My WIFI on my late 2014 Mac Mini is having connection problems.  It does drop network every once in a while and I have to reboot, which is irritating.  However, the seriously problematic  behavior is that it seems to get into a confused state where it cannot connect to WIFI of any type even if I bring the access point into the same room or use the wifi served from my mobile phone (which works without incident with several Mac laptops, or my Mac Pro).   (Note: I did not have an easy way to test open WIFI so it was several types with WPA2 encryption)
    I tried many reboots, even shutdowns and disconnection from power for several hours with no improvement.  I later decided to bring an airport extreme configured as a network adapter to connect to my basestation and connect the express via Ethernet to my system at which point it finally had network.  At this point the mini it decided it could connect to WIFI again.
    I would be pleased to know if anyone else had a similar problem and if there is a less extravagant workaround.
    I'm running Yosemite 10.10.1
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply!  My router is another airport express with N capabilities and when it works it gets very good speeds.
    To directly answer your question, I reset my router several times by power cycling it while I was having this trouble.  It did not help the problem, and several other devices were able to connect to it without any problem while the mac mini was unwilling to connect.  Unfortunately, the airport utility couldn't reset the router when it was unable to connect wirelessly.  Like I said, it got out of its confused state when I connected it via ethernet to an external wireless device, so then reseting the router became unnecessary.
    I am prepared to get a new airport if this will help my problem but what I've been reading about the airports is that they also have some connectivity problem which is not encouraging.
    Is this a hardware issue, software issue, or possibly something a future Yosemite update might fix, will an airport help?
    Thanks!

  • How do I get music and movies from iPod to my computer?

    Hi How can I put all of my music and movies that are on my iPod onto my computer? They were all on my computer before but became erased. Thanks!

    If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
    The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. You'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos, podcasts and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, this is just a small selection of what's available, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    TuneJack Windows Only
    iPod2PC Windows Only
    iGadget Windows Only
    iDump Windows Only
    iRepo Windows Only
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    There is also a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows or a Mac. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod
    If your iPod is set to update automatically you need to take care connecting to an empty iTunes. You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows with iTunes 7 installed hold down the Control and Alt keys (or Shift + Ctrl keys in older versions). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer: iTunes 7 Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
    Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button: Managing content manually on iPod
    Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.

  • How to switch back and forth from mac to windows????

    for some reason, i'm unable to switch back and forth from windows to mac right now. i rarely shut down my mac, but did today and when it restarted, it naturally restarted in windows. i then held down the keys i thought i was supposed to and restarted it, but don't have the option of getting back into my mac side. what keys am i supposed to hold down while restarting the computer?? i feel like the mac side is being held hostage! i thought it was ctrl & the apple key that i was to hold down at the same time. anyone? anyone??

    Hi and welcome to Discussion,
    to 'release the hostage' you have to hold down the 'Option/Alt'-key during restart and are then greeted by a Boot-Menu from which you can choose which one to boot.
    Once in OSX you might want to go to System Preferences - Startup Volume and choose OSX as the default.
    After the needed restart OSX boots up automatically unless you again use the Option-key to choose Windows.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Cleaning old systems and applications from Mac

    I want to clean up my computer of old system folders and applications that are not it use but am afraid some settings will be lost. Is there a careful way to do this? Is spring cleaning or another 3rd party software the best option. I particularly want to get rid of CS, CS2, and CS3 but I notice that each time I upgrade it pulls information from the previous install and I don't want to mess up my CS4, or CS5 settings.

    "I particularly want to get rid of CS, CS2, and CS3 but I notice that each time I upgrade it pulls information from the previous install and I don't want to mess up my CS4, or CS5 settings."
    Trash only the application. Leave the setting files alone.
    "I want to clean up my computer of old system folders and applications that are not it use but am afraid some settings will be lost. *Is there a careful way to do this?"*
    Leave the system folders alone is the +"golden rule"+ around here. Unless _you really know what you are doing,_ it's best to leave them be.
    For cleaning up your computer of unwanted and/or unneeded files here are a few suggestions:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305454 Mac OS X 10.4: FileVault - "There isn't enough space on your hard disk..." alert
    Empty the trash!
    Open up your application folder & go through all your apps. Trash all the apps you no longer want and/or use.
    An easier way to do this is to open the Application folder in list view & press the Command+j keys.
    In the the dialog that appears, click the "This Window Only" button & the "Calculate All Sizes" check box.
    Wait a bit until your file & folder sizes have all been calculated, then click the "Size" column to sort your apps from the fattest to the most anorexic.
    Get rid of all your photo files you don't want and/or need. Same goes for those pics off the websites you downloaded (gifs, jpegs, etc.).
    Get rid of all your music files you no longer listen too. Especially, if you already have the actual CD/DVDs or you can later redownload from a website.
    Use Spotlight to make sure you got rid of everything. You can even trash directly from Spotlight!
    Drag what you don't want and/or need to the trash. Better yet, download this neat little shareware app demo called AppZapper. It basically does all the work for you by not only trashing the apps but the apps preference files, caches & all its associated files.
    Another software that does the above is AppDelete. Best of all this software is free!
    Burn what you want and/or need onto CDs or DVDs.
    Not everyone has the luxury of purchasing an external HD and/or Mobile accounts to store their "stuff.”
    You can check with your ISP to see if they offer free storage space. Most if not all do now-a-days.
    There are thousands if not millions of free storage facilities on the web also. Use your favorite search engine to search them out as they come in different storage sizes to fit your needs & wants.
    Check for duplicate fonts.
    Applications>Font Book
    Select “All Fonts”
    If you see any “black dots” next to any fonts this mean you have duplicates and/or multiple versions of these fonts.
    To clean this up, select a “black dotted” font or the Apple + click to select multiple dotted fonts;
    Edit>Resolve>Duplicates.
    What the above does is turns off the duplicates & multiple version fonts. Not delete them.
    More than likely the “extras” were installed by other programs and/or other users.
    Clear out font caches
    Use FontNuke. It does all the work for you. And, best of all it’s FREE.
    Printer Drivers
    Get rid of all the printer drivers you don’t need & use except the ones for your current printer(s)/scanner(s).
    HD>Library>Printers Folder
    If you accidently threw something out that you needed for your printer/scanner it can be easily obtained from the manufacturer’s website and/or from the CD that came w/the printer/scanner.
    Garage Band
    Has about 1GB of loops stored. Get rid of some some them. You surely don’t use, like and/or need them all.
    HD>Library>Audio/Apple Loops>Apple>Apple Loops For GarageBand
    Or just get rid of the Garage Band app altogether if you don’t use it.
    Get rid of extra languages
    Strip your computer down to your “native” tongue.
    You can do this with a FREE utility called Monolingual. Another app that apparently does all the work for you. I’ve never used it. However, a lot of users here swear by & recommend it highly.
    However, there is a warning for *native English speakers*. Make sure you keep BOTH English and English (United States).

  • Any F.Module is there to get  'Month and day '  from the given input number

    Hi experts,
        I am working on Inventory withdrawl report and in the selection screen, If i enter the CHARG (Batch number) then  I need to display the posting date by default in the next selection input based on the Batch number.
    In the selection screen :
    Batch : 7111WF0211.
    Posting Date :  (I need to display by default based on batch number).
    My requirement is,  in the above Batch first digit '7' is the year.
    And  from 2nd to 4th digit. i.e., 111. I need to find out month and day from 111.
    I mean from  1 to 365 days, In which day and which month '111' will come ?
    Please send me the code or suitable Function Module. Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ranji.

    Use FM ADD_TIME_TO_DATE
    Do this
    days = batch+1(3).
    days = days - 1.
    Call Function 'ADD_TIME_TO_DATE'
    exporting
    i_idate = '01.01.2008'
    i_time = days
    i_iprkz = 'D'
    importing
    o_idate = date_p_d
    You will get the date in date_p_d.
    But what about Leap years? IS the first number the year?
    IF so pass in i_idate the first of january of that year so you get the correct day depending if it is a leap year or not
