Getting my home page to go completely across my screen, instead of half

I recently switched my default browser from I.E. to Firefox and I found a really cool photo on my Astronomy web page. It's the earthrise photo taken by one of the apollo astronauts. Anyway I downloaded it (1600 x 1200 pixels) to my firefox home page and it only covered the left half of my monitor! Any suggestions on how to make my home page completely whole?

What is the current startup setting?
*Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time" "Show my home page" "Show a blank page"

Screen problem ~ I have two macs, a 17" and a 13". When I went to Sno-Lep from Mt-lion there was no option in displays options to select the one I had.
I haven't changed my 13" over because of trouble the changeover caused.
On the other problem, if I hit the house shaped option on the opening page of many small web-site pictures, it stayed the same, if I got off the multi-pages and then hit that same house-shaped option, I got the home page that I selected. After what you told me what I should do, it's ok. These things really bother me, I'm old 71.

I have recently had a problem when turning my iPad on from shutdown, in that it takes at least four attempts to slide my finger across to get the home page. The screen is clean, and when I do eventually get the home page it all works perfectly. Any ideas?

I have a problem getting my IPad to start from shutdown. I get the Apple logo then when it is ready for me to slide my finger across the lower part of the screen to get the home page, it takes at least four attempts. When it does eventually open the home page, all works perfectly well. The screen is clean so I cannot see any reason for this annoying problem. Any suggestions will be gratefully received. Thank you. When I open up Mozilla Firefox the home page has been changed from "comcast.net" to "http://home.mywebsearch.com/index... Is this from Firefox? What happened to my homepage? What is this page, and how do I go back to the home page comcast.net? Who is "Mindspark" since it says it's the owner of the site when I click for more details. It says if you want to uninstall this just go to the "start" menu, "control panel" and "add/remove program" and select "MyWebSearch Bar" but this is not listed to add or remove. Can you tell me what happened and how to get my home page back? Thank you.

Yes, Jason, and I would like to assure you that for not being spyware, malware, etc., this thing sure acts like it. It phones home constantly and manages to still remain on my computer...even after deleting the app from my programs. I've had to resort to a very aggressive spyware removal application to get rid of your company's crap toolbar and the verdict is still out on whether it did the job. I rate applications on not just their usefulness but on the size of their footprint and how easy they are to remove if I don't want them. On a scale from 1-10, (10 being the best) MyWebSearch gets a negative 2.

Because there is a chance that the user might remember the url of a certain page and copy paste that one in the browser... in such type of scenarios also home page should come first
After i implemented Adf security in the redirect upon successful login i took the home.jspx page... but it is not going to home.jspx when i run some 'x' page and give the credentials for authentication.
This for our project they dont want to implement at taskflow level for each and every taskflow... is there any higher level where we can implement such feature because home page is common for all.

Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Cannot get a home page on my iPad!

I have gone through setup for iPad (twice). My email has been verified and I was able to sign up for the discussions, but I cannot get a home page on the iPad. I also cannot get my serial number to contact support. This is my first experience with an Apple product and I am very frustrated. I'm writing this from my PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not sure what you mean by that. If you mean set a Starting page for Safari, then you can't. Safari will open up on the last page you browsed. If you close all tabs before exiting, it will jsut open to the gray screen. From there you can search using the google search at the top left of the address bar, or simply enter an address in the address bar.

This can be easily obtained by flipping the iPad over and looking at the fine text at the bottom of the backside.
The Serial number is printed there.
Alternatively going into Settings->Geneal->About will have the serial number in the list of things about the iPad.
If you are finding it difficult to navigate around the iPad, perhaps setting up an appointment at the Genius Bar of your local Apple Store may be usefull. As they have Usage classes you can take.

I use BT Yahoo as a home page. When I browse or use email I can't return to the home page. The back arrow disappears. I have to close and reopen Firefox to get the home page back. Any solutions??

In case it's a weird glitch with obsolete cached files or broken cookies, you could open the Add-ons site directly and do the usual:

I am trying to write at the end of procedure to redirect the user to the home page. How do I do that ? What is way to redirect to a page using pl/sql and how do I know the user home page url ?

We previously had google as our main home page then tried a page called bearshare. Now we want to change the home page back to google. I have tried numerous times typing in the new home page under tools, options then general tab and when we close firefox and then reopen the page it loads bearshare again so we go back to tools option again and it has automatically changed back to bearshare.
