Getting my pictures back
Hi, I have just updated to iOS 6 and I synced my iPod before the update but now I have the update my pictures aren't on my iPod, I just want all of the pictures I had before (all 1,00 odd of them!) back on as they were before the update. Does anybody know how to do this?

I just wanted to back up my photos since I haven't done so since October 5th. I plugged in my iPhone and let Image Capture transfer the selected photos to the designated folder. Accidently I hit 'Import All but that's not the biggest problem. Apparently I had "Delete all after transfer" on AND 427 photos apparently "failed to transfer" as it said. I didn't think it was such a big problem, but then I noticed : what the ****.The delete all option was ON and now ALL my photos are gone, from the iPhone and NOT on the computer. Except a list of some old pictures I already have three backups and from the new ones between Oct 5 and this day I have a random selection >><!!!
So please help me! How do I get my pictures back? iPhone Data recovery? Please please help. There are so many nice memories of this month and I'm so ****** that this just happened!If you have iCloud backup turned on or if you have recently backed up via iTunes you could restore the phone from either of those sources. Camera Roll photos are included in those backups. Be aware that doing a restore will replace the contents of the phone with the contents of the backup so you would lose anything new on the phone since the last backup. Emergency! Please Help. I have an iPhone 4 with all my pictures from the vacation on it and I plugged into my computer and it sync'ed to my ipod. all of my pictures are gone. How do I get my pictures back?
If all you did was sync your phone, and if you haven't synced again since this happened, you can restore your phone from the backup that was created at the beginning of the sync process (camera roll photos are included in the backup). If you have synced again since this happened this backup has already been overwritten and your photos are lost. Also, if you restored your phone from the backup of your iPod, rather than just synced, then your photos are lost too.
If you have an intact backup that contains these photos, do the following:
Without connecting your phone, open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences. On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".
Connect your phone to your computer, right-click on the name of your phone when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose your most recent backup to restore from.
When complete, you can go back to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and re-enable automatic syncing. -

yesterday i plugged my new Iphone in to my laptop and connected it up with Itunes. Itunes then deleted all my pictures off my new phone and reset my new phone with all the settings of my old phone! how do i get my pictures back????? Before you say Icloud they are not on there
Sorry you can't. Looks like your phone restore to an older backup.
future reference import your pics to your PC, that way you can always sync it back using itunes

IPhone stopped restoring pictures from backup. How do I get my pictures back?
I got a backup done at the apple store because my camera of my iphone 5 (iOS 7) was broken and they didn't want my pictures to get lost. Since then it was trying to restore but it never fully did more than 2/3 of my pictures never restored. Even with good wifi it wouldn't work and now it just stopped and I still can't find my pictures and videos anywhere. How do I get my pictures back?

I have restored my new replacement iPhone from my latest iCloud back up. However my camera roll pictures are not displaying. Its not saying I don't have any pictures in my camera roll, it has all the spaces for them, but it just shows empty white squares? How do I get my pictures back? Thanks!
It's difficult to say whether it's stuck or not as the time to restore a backup can depend on many factors. You'll have to decide when you think it's just not continuing. You could try turning the phone off (hold the power button until you see the red off slider, then slide to turn off), then back on to see if that would get it going again.
When you're convinced it's just hung, you can go back to settings and tap Stop Restoring iPhone to stop the restore. You'll then have to try restoring it again (Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup). Be sure it's connected to your charger and wifi while it's restoring the backup.
You might also try the approach posted here by ezjules: https://discussions.apple.com/message/19518589#19518589. This seems to have worked for some people who had trouble restoring their photos from an iCloud backup. -
How do I get recent pictures back if I restored my old iPhone and it brought back the old pictures but the new ones are gone?!?

How can I get my pictures back?
I backed my I phone 3 up on home computer. I went and got my I phone 4. Soon as I got home I connected to home computer to put all pictures and data on my new phone but it put all my brothers data instead. I cannot find any of my pictures, contacts, or anything. Is there any way for me to get the pictures back? They are very valuable to me because they were pictures from the hospital when my daughter was born. Can anyone help?
Understand the concern here. Question: When you backed up your device to iTunes, were you logged into your AppleID on itunes? If you were, when you plugged new device in was your brothers appleID logged on in iTunes?
Open iTunes, make sure that you are logged into your appleID. go to Edit at the top of the window. Click on Preferences, this brings up the General Preferences menu, click on devices and see if you have a back uo there of your old device, check the date and the name. If you have a recent back then you can plug in your new device, right click on the name under devices and choose restore from back up / it should give a list of backups and dates and you can choose the most recent one.
-If you have the old device, you can plug it into iTunes, create a new back up and then do the steps above to restore from back-up for your new device.
-If you do not see a back-up in Preferences, or do not have the old device to make a back up again, locate your photos in the Pictures file on your computer and try Dragging and Dropping the albums onto your deivce. this works best if you Minimize both screen and set them side by side so you can see your picture files or albums and also itunes at the same time. I had previously had an iphone5 but it got stolen and I just got the iphone5s. I had previously backed up my old iphone to my itunes, and didnt have time to restore it to my new phone. I had taken pictures with my new iphone and when i connected it to my laptop i changed the setting to backup with icloud and it deleted all my current pictures and things and replaced them with what was on my old phone. Is there anyway I can undo this and get my pictures back?
Almost certainly you lost the previous iPhone 5S photos. But just in case you might have saved them ...
On your iPhone 5S, check Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup and find the time (if any) that you made an iCloud backup. If you made one before you deleted the iPhone 5S' photos, they are on iCloud. If that's the case, you can retrieve them by doing Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings and then restoring that iCloud backup to the iPhone. Of course, you would then lose the iPhone 5's photos from the iPhone 5S.
It's extremely unlikely you performed this iCloud backup at the right time, but it's your only chance. -
IPhoto update from Mavericks deleted my library. How can I get my pictures back?
Soo my iPhoto just decided not to find my photo library anymore.
When I open iPhoto, it only opens a windwo where I can decide which library I want to open, but gives me no choices, the list is empty. Normally this window opens when my external HD is connected to my macbook since then there's two iPhotos available, but now it just doesnt find even one.
I had another problem with the iPhoto on my external HD, i wanted to open it but a window opened to tell me that my library is used by another programm or that the library can't be read anymore. I was able to save those pictures by showing the contents and copying the pictures.
Buuuut now on the macbook, when I do the left click thing to open the contents of the package, there are no pictures in it at all, no folder has pictures in it. When I copy the version from time machine, nothing changes. iPhoto has a size of 1.7 Gb, which is way to small. God dammit.

Okay, so here the details:
iPhoto Version 9.5.1
OS X Version 10.9.1
So here what I did, detailed. (pardon my english, I'm swiss)
I downloaded Mavericks, few days later updated iPhoto (the iPhoto icon was orange before and turned blue after the update). All went well, until one month later, all of a sudden, I was not able to open my iPhoto on the external harddisk. A window opened to tell me that either my library is being used by another programm or that it can't be read anymore. To solve this problem iPhoto tells me to do several things, for example shut down the computer and then open iPhoto again, or set up my library again or open iPhoto by pressing command and alt. But non of those instructions helped. So I opened the contents, I looked for the folder with the masters of my pictures and copied the whole thing onto another harddisk.
I think I got those Pics saved, but I still can't open iPhoto on the external harddisk.
Oh and by the way, the iPhoto icon on my external harddisk looks different now, it's three pictures in a row and the one on top shows a redish flower.
So now, two days later I try to open the iPhoto on my regular macbook. A window pops up and says that I have to choose a library that I want to open. (iPhoto usually did that when I had my external harddisk connected since there were two different librarys then, one on my external, one on my computer) But now, instead of showing me the library's I can choose from it only shows nothing, no list or anything i could even choose. And then below there's this button that says something like "create a new library".
So what I did:
I open the contents and looked for the masters of my pictures, but there weren't any pictures at all. The iPhoto has a size of 1.7 GB which I think is too small for all the Pics and videos i stored in there.
I tried to get the IPhoto from Time Machine, but nothing changed. Iphoto still's 1.7 GB.
I opened the file "Pictures" in the Finder, but there's no such file like "iPhoto library", like it's deleted or something like that.
So i think that I used iPhoto usually, nothing speciall. I imported Pictures from my iPhone or camera and left them there.

I have the adjustments, etc. on the left side of the screen. The picture is on the far right side of the screen. The middle of the screen is all black.How do I get the picture back in the middle of the acreen. I believe I must have hit a button that moved the picture to the far right.
On the Mac......
Open up Macintosh HD > Applicatons > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the Time Capsule icon, then click Edit in the small window that appears
Click the Network tab at the top of the next window
Change the setting for Router Mode from the current DHCP and NAT to read Off (Bridge Mode), then click Update at the lower right of the window, and wait a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a green light.
Then.....very important
Power off the Time Capsule and your Arris modem/router for a few minutes
Start up the Arris first, and let it run a few minutes by itself
Start up the Time Capsule next the same way
Your network will now be correct, and your printing capabilities will improve.
If Time Machine backups do not occur now, post back and we will tackle that next. -
My MacBook Pro got wet and I lost all of my childs photos from the day she was born. Is there anyway I could get these pictures back from my iCloud? I actually care more for getting the photos back than I do my laptop. Please help! Thank

You should be able to recover your photos from a back up. -
