Getting nano to show up even iTunes even when not connected
How do I get my nano to show up in the source list in iTunes all the time, like it used to in iTunes 5?
Nanos never showed up in the Source list all the time. That was Shuffles. And yes, it was cool. However, that function was removed from iTunes at about version 7. It doesn't even work with the Shuffles anymore. Sorry.

I recommend starting with these steps to troubleshoot your iPod touch and connection with your Mac:
Check your USB connections
Unplug other USB devices from your Mac and try again.
Try a different USB port.
Try a different USB cable.
Restart your device
Restart your iOS device or reset your iPod.
Restart your Mac
Turn your Mac off and back on.
Update your software
Check for software updates on your Mac.
Check for an iTunes update.

How do I listen to iTunes music when not connected to the Internet?
I have an iPad that we use for traveling in rural areas where Internet is not available. I have purchased lots of music on ITunes but can't access the songs when traveling. How do I download those songs to my iPad so I can listen to them when I can't access the cloud?
Do you have iTunes Match? If not, then any music you sync to your device is available to play at any time. No connection of any sort is needed - just battery power.
Can you provide a little more information as to whether or not your have Match, and what you are seeing in your Music app?

IPod will not show up in iTunes even after trouble shooting
For some reason, I cannot get m iPod touch to show up in my iTunes. It charges when it is plugged into my macbook and everything, but I cannot get it to be recognized by iTunes, even after following the trouble shooting.
The closest i got to it working was by holding down the restart buttons (the sleep button at the top and the on button on the main screen). When i did this, a message popped up saying that my ipod was in recovery mode and i needed to restore it. I clicked ok, and before i was able to click restore to restore my ipod, it disappeared from iTunes again.

i uninstalled iTunes for a third time, restarted my mac, and reinstalled itunes. plugged in my iPod and now it is successfully working -
i had to get a new iphone and want to know how to tell if my pictures from my previous phone were backed up on itunes. when i connect to itunes, does it automatically sync / backup even if i'm going from a 4 w/IOS 6 to a 5S w/IOS 7?

Yes you can probably delete the 2 incomplete back ups they are unlikely to work.
However, I'd be inclined to back up to a computer as well and restore from there, if you are changing your phone. -
I have an ipod 2 just bought an ipod air and would like to transfer everything over from ipod 2. i backed up the 2 in itunes and when i connect the air it does not even show up. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Place the iPod in recovery mode to bypass the passcode (and essentially erase your iPod) and then restore via iTunes on your computer.

I Have an ipod shuffle 2nd generation that is not showing itself in itunes. When i look in systemprofile is does show in de usb section.
whatever support page i look at and follow all the commands i cannot get it to be seen in itunes. i even tryd to reinstall the shuffle

You will need to restore it. The sidebar of your iPad appears on itunes even if you dont enter the passcode. There's the option to restore it. More info:

i don't know why...Sometimes it can be something very simple and easy to fix. Before you get into any involved troubleshooting, quit iTunes, restart your Mac, restart your iPad and then try to sync again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If this doesn't work, then try the more involved stuff. -

My iPod touch screen says it is disabled. Connect to iTunes. When I connect the device to the computer a window pops up and said that the iPod is locked and I need to enter the passcode on the iPod..... I can't get it to do anything. Any ideas?
