Getting NEW Monitor for my P6-2133W AMD APU System--Few Questions?

Hi All
Getting an HP 20 Inch 1600x900 Monitor, and wondering if i'll have any lag in games, or anything, going from a 17inch 1280x720 size screen? I know it's a big jump, and when i bought this machine in June didn't check out any monitors then.
Some friends of mine are saying gaming will be terrible on this APU system, and laggy as can be with new monitor, so a little worried now, Monitor arrives tomorrow

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6-2133w Desktop Computer. According to the specs, this model uses an AMD A6 3620 Processor w/ integrated Radeon™ HD 6530D graphics. Changing the monitor isn't really going to affect the graphics or cause lagging. The APU and its integrated graphics are where you may encounter an issue. The only way to overcome these potential issues is to install a more powerful APU (such as the A8-3850) or a discrete graphics card and power supply.

TB 27.0.1 (W7) will not "get new messages for all accounts"

I installed W7 with IE11and downloaded the latest TB (27.0.1) I have added five email accounts (more to be added) and none of them show up in the left pane - only global Inbox and two folders I created. I can get new messages manually one account at a time, but "get new messages for all accounts" (or Shift F5) does nothing. Most of this happed after MS installed well over 100 updates to my W7, but some of my accounts never did show up in the left pane even before the W7 updates. I have reinstalled TB - nothing changes.

The crux of the matter has been resolved by checking the “Include this server when getting new mail” box in each account’s “Advanced” box under “Server Settings.” Now every time TB checks for new mail (including on startup), the process is displayed in the lower left portion of the window. I wish this had been explained to me more clearly early on.
Having all accounts in the left pane has become unimportant now that I can see the mail being checked on startup, periodically, and on Shift F5.

Yes you can still purchase replacement batteries your iPod from third party repair companies. Apple does not offer replacement parts.
Do a Google search for iPod battery replacement and you should get a plethora of results. There are many good deals on Amazon and eBay.

Getting new Mac for Aperture and have a question...

I totally realize that this is a personal preference with no "wrong" way to do it. However, I would appreciate some thoughts so I can form a better idea of how I will set up an Aperture workflow that will work for me for a long time and how to configure my new iMac.
I use the referenced library workflow and store both my masters and Aperture library on my current internal drive with both backed up to externals. I'm getting a new Mac with the SSD drive for apps and OS (and Aperture library as well). The question is, should I get the mega 2 TB internal HDD along with that SSD for all my masters (which would also include my music and home-made movies)?
My current photo storage adds up to only 130GB right now and grows slowly. I don't even think I would double that in the next year. I realize that if I had, say, a 1.5 TB size Masters library, the the answer would be obvious that I would need to store externally because the iMac HDD isn't big enough. But that isn't my situation.
But since I would be able to fit all my photos on an internal HDD (2TB) to use as referenced, is there a better reason to skip the internal 2TB HDD and just get hooked up with some good, high-speed external system and stick with an internal SSD to just handle the OS, music, and apps? In other words, all my media (photos and movies) would always be stored AND edited from an external drive (I will actually edit on the SSD and then move the referenced files to the external). This means that from now on all new Macs I ever get will only need a moderate sized SSD for OS and apps. I would basicallt forever keep all things media on externals.
I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any help with this.

I've seen that also. That's why I added the "If you can wait.." statement.
If you need to purchase before say late October, then the specs you list for the 21" iMac are quite good and the possibility of developers designing GPU threads that require caching in the VRAM may or may not need amounts beyond 512 MB. For my part, I run a 17" MacBook Pro (late 2011) which has the 2.5 Ghz i7, 8 GB Apple provided RAM, and the AMD 6770 with 1 GB VRAM. I installed an OWC 480 GB SSD and I am connected to the Apple Thunderbolt Display (because this machine only offers a Thunderbolt port to connect video signals with). Aperture runs fine on my machine (although for some reason cropping takes a couple of seconds now, where it was immediate before the AP 3.3 update). I run Photoshop CS6 and Illustrator CS6 without any issues on this machine, so it is definitely capable of running in a professional environment.
Since your specs call-out a 2.8 Ghz i7, 16+ GB RAM and an SSD, I personally would not hesitate to purchase that machine if you need to purchase soon. I just mentioned the 1 GB VRAM due to your wanting to be able to handle 4+ years of updates to the OS and software. That doesn't mean the 512 GB VRAM won't work great, just that the 1 GB VRAM would be additional insurance (sort of like Apple Care).

How to get new software for torch 9850 for new computer

I got a new laptop (both my old and new are Windows 7. I used the transfer software to transfer my old files to my new computer, but I didn't get the driver for my 7.1 Bundle 921 software so I can't sync my phone with my new computer. I've tried to download new softward to my new computer, but I can't open (something about my computer doesn't accomodate 32 bit???? Can anybody help me? Thanks.

Windows 7 64 bit comes with an emulator for 32 bit software so your computer is capable of running that software.
Something with the transfer so uninstall all BlackBerry software and try again.

Need advice for a new monitor for Mac Centris 610

I have a Mac Centris 610. The Apple monitor(display unit) that originally came with it finally died. Would this old Mac be able to use a new flat-screen computer monitor? How can I find out what newer monitors wouldbe compatible with this old "war horse" computer. I use it for one application only, but it still works great for this. Many thanks to anyone who can rescue me from my predicament!

You can't use a new flat-screen display, because they have a widescreen aspect ratio (16:9) and that isn't supported by the Centris' onboard graphics. The Centris doesn't have PCI slots, so that eliminates that option. You could check thrift stores or computer recyclers in your area for an older display. You might have success using a Mac-to-VGA adapter having a set of adjustable DIP switches. It plugs into the Mac DB-15 display port on the back of the Centris and enables you to connect an older, multi-sync CRT display (4:3 aspect ratio) having a PC-style VGA connector.
From the specs posted at EveryMac.com for the Centris 610:
"By default, the Macintosh Centris 610 only supports a single display, but a second one can be supported with the addition of a compatible PDS or NuBus video card. With the standard VRAM, the system is capable of supporting 512x384 at 16-bit color and 640x480, 800x600 and 832x624 at 8-bit color. With 1 MB of VRAM installed, it can support 640x480, 800x600 and 832x624 at 16-bit color and 832x624, 1024x768 and 1152x870 at 8-bit color."

Once I purchase a book, do I get new editions for free?

I read that once you purchase a book, you receive any updates that the author makes to this book for free.
However, I'm not sure exactly what 'updates' means. Does this just mean updates to the existing edition? Or if a new edition is released, do I get that for free?
Specifically I am thinking about a Lonely Planet Guidebook. If I buy the latest edition of Lonely Planet China now, when a new edition is released in a couple of years, do I get that update for free? Or would I have to purchase it again?

I have a Satellite A210-16F laptop with a Ati Mobility Radeon HD 2600 graphic card...
After checking my device manager i found out that my graphic drivers are from 2007 which can't be good :S but for the life of me i can't find the right drivers anywhere... if you check out the screenshot, you will see that the drivers are from 2007 and after i click on "update driver" and then "search automatically for updated driver software" it never finds anything and tells me that my drivers are up-to-date :SS Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Oh, also, my OS is Vista Home Premium (32-bit)

One solution for your problem is, that if you upgraded your OS to Windows 7, there's a new driver for Mobility Radeon 2000 Series (Catalyst 9.6) on the ATI/AMD driver page(that one with the OS selector etc..). It's states however, that these drivers are for 7's beta releases only, but if you install them even on regular Win7 system, they're working fine and after a while an update for them appears in Windows update(It should update to Catalyst 9.7). I run them almost a week without a problem and it even resolved my Mass Effect 2 crashing issue.
One problem remains though that the driver is only for Win7(when you select Vista, it's really annoying: "Please contact your device driver manufacturer..." for you.).
It's truly more annoying than sad, that Toshiba, although in the Win7 supported laptop models list states that P200/A200 series are supported, the only thing supported after all seems to be a bluetooth module(since only that one got a new driver). So far there was no problem with an old display driver for 2600, but recently the new Mass Effect 2 crashes almost randomly during loading stages(with error log in computer management stating that the faulting module is ATI(anything here), and I only expect more such errors/problems with new games to come, because almost 2 years old drivers! So I think guys in Toshiba software engineering should really wake up.

Eurostile is a commercial family of fonts.
Apple didn't boght a license for it so they don't deliver it.
Do you know that Google is a powerful tool ?
Search with the simple request:
eurostile AND font
and you will get several sources for official eurostile fonts and for free copies .
Of course, I will not guarantee that the copies have the quality of the original or that they are legal ones.

I would like to upgrade my monitor for photo editing using CS6 and lightroom 5. I have spent a lot of time reviewing several monitors and just as confused as when I started. I am looking for a monitor in the $500 to $900 range but want to make an intelligent decision. HELP!

If you have a subscription there should be no problem. You should be able to install on two machines. If you try to activate a third machine I believe the activation server will deactivate all your activations. Then activate the current machine. You can then re-activate one of you other machines.
If you have a perpetual licence and have two activation you will need Adobe Customer Support to assist you.

In iMovie 08, I have two inputs, iSight camera (old stand alone model) and a fw analog to digital input. I record, and I hear sound on play back, but not when I am recording. How Can I turn on the monitor sound? BTW, sound is not muted in the Project window, as all sounds play when I hit the Play button. Thank you.

The old iMovie imported only from dv based firewire devices, and imported in real time, so playing the sound made sense on import.
The new iMovie imports from additional devices that require conversion of highly compressed formats during the import process. These include MPEG2 and AVCHD files on SDHC cards, Hard Drives, and DVD based camcorders. These new devices do not necessarily import in real time. They mostly take a lot longer than real time, but in theory, they could also be quicker than real time if you had a fast enough processor.
So...once you are not importing in real time, playing the sound doesn't make sense. They don't play sound on import for anything (real-time or non-real time) probably for simplicity and to avoid confusion.
