Getting New Songs to Download Onto My iPod from iTunes

Ok, my computer crashed and I had to download iTunes onto my new one. On my old computer, whenever I added new cds into my iTunes library, all I had to do was plug my iPod into the computer and they would automatically download onto my iPod. On my new computer they aren't and I'm not sure how to get them on there. Any suggestions?

I plug in my iPod and nothing happens when it normally would update automatically. My friend told me to try pressing the "sync" button under the file menu but that doesnt do anything either. It says "Updating iPod. Do not diconnect" at the top, but it doesnt update anything. I had all my syuff set up on another computer that crashed. I installed iTunes on my new computer and nothing has been the same since. I was able to put all the music off my iPod into the iTunes library thanks to someone on this board. But any new cds or songs I buy won't transfer from the library onto the iPod. Its very frustrating. Basically, I plug in my iPod and NOTHING happens. Thats the problem.

Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. How you delete content from your iPod depends on how it is set up to receive content from your iTunes library whether that be via automatic syncing or manual management.
For automatic syncing, you must reconfigure your settings so that the album/tracks/content you wish to remove is no longer configured to sync to your iPod. For example, if the Sync only checked songs and videos option is enabled from under the iPod's Summary tab, make sure all the tracks for this album do NOT have a tick mark next to them in your iPod. Then resync your iPod with iTunes.
If that isn't the case, you'll want to look at the iPod's Music configuration tab. You can access this tab by selecting your iPod under Devices. This should bring you to the Summary tab over to the right. Look for the Music tab along the top and select it. Here you can configure how and what music syncs to your device. If you make any changes to this tab, be sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to sync the updated changes to your device.
Otherwise, if you manually manage your iPod's contents, you must manually remove content from it. You can do this by plugging your iPod in and clicking the small black triangle next to your iPod from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will open up a submenu of content that is indented underneath the name of your device, so go ahead and click on Music (or whatever content you are wanting to remove). Locate the track or tracks/content you wish to delete. Highlight them and hit the Delete key or choose Edit -> Delete.

Songs I downloaded onto my ipod have transferred to itunes on my laptop but won't play on my device.

Some songs I have purchased from itunes won't play on my ipod but work perfectly on my laptop. Even plugging my ipod into the laptop and syncing it hasn't worked, but the artwork and information for the song still exist on my device. Any ideas?

I can't get the songs i purchased onto my iPod

i just spent close to $20 on songs from iTunes. I plugged my iPod up to transfer the songs and they wont go through to my iPod. I just checked my library, recently added, and purchased songs. They're all gone. I checked earlier and they were there, but now they're not. I paid for the songs, but didn't get them!!! What should i do?

Go to the advence menu, then click on something like Search bought items... (I have a french version of iTunes... dunno in english). The search engine will tell you if your download are still there. Second, search your computerfo the song title you've lost. And : you know now that you should make a CD/DVD Backup of you're bought items...

Normally, I just select songs and I'm able to drag and drop them from my library onto my device. I have an iPod Touch and an iPhone 4. I want to drag and drop my songs from the library onto my iPod Touch. I have already selected manual upload instead of automatic sync. I tried suggestions from the Mac message board (since other people seem to have had a similar issue), and their solutions didn't work for me. I have restarted both iTunes, my computer, and reconnected my iPod multiple times. I don't know what's going on, and I can't find a fix anywhere in iTunes help. Update: I seem to have fixed the problem! I went to the "summary" section of my iPod after clicking on the device on the left side of iTunes. I checked the box that allowed me to "manually manage music and videos" and applied this option. The songs are syncing! And, yay, they're playing on my iPod now! Hopefully, this helps anyone else who might have this problem. There might be other issues, but this is working for now.

Okay, there are two accounts on one computer, and my account is the main one though ever since, I've been having issues with downloading new songs and apps onto my iPod touch. Not only that but now all of my music's gone from my library. How can I fix it?

Has anyone ever had this problem before? I would love some advice on how to restore my library with all my music. I have 841 songs on my iPod touch and yet my iTunes library on my account says I have none, ever since my sister made her account on my laptop and some of her songs have gotten on mine (the main) account. Not only that but my iTouch doesn't seem to want to accept any other songs outside of its list. Any advice?

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

I just got new ipod shuffle. Try to put music on with itunes. Says file cannot be read or written to, something like that. It looks like it starts to transfer music, then it stops and that STUPID X comes up saying something about not reading it.I don't know what the **** is wrong!!!! Anyone have any ideas???? Some songs won't copy to Ipod from Itunes

Hello all,
A bunch of songs won't transfer to my ipod and I can't figure out why...
Exact message: "Some of the items in the Itunes Library, including "..." were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod" Then it says there are "101 problems - see below"
I counted the tracks, there are actually 63. (My library has about 6000 tunes.)
I've recently upgraded to buy the new DRM free songs, but I don't see the connection.
I checked the Kind, Sample Rate, and Bit rate and there doesn't seem to be any differences between these and others.
I converted the songs to mp3-192s, trashed the originals, still won't transfer.
I still have 10GB of space left on my iPod, so it's not a space issue.
Most are songs I purchased in the I-tunes store.
The only thing these songs have in common is that they all were loaded in the same session.
They were on my iPod before I upgraded to 7.2
I'm on a G4 laptop, OS 10.4.9 1.67 PowerPC.
Running I-Tunes 7.2

After updating iPod software to 1.1.3 for my nano 8GB, there are 101 songs that iTunes refuses to sync to the nano, saying:
Some of the items in the iTunes library, including "Great Escape", were not copied to the iPod "My iPod" because they cannot be played on this iPod.
When I use the disclosure triangle to see details, all songs give the same info, for example:
"Multiply" was not copied because the file type is not supported by the iPod "My iPod".
But these are all just MP3 files. Some, if not all, of them were purchased in the iTunes store, then burned to a standard CD (aiff?), then later reloaded. They've all been played before on this iPod. I still have the original protected song files filed away, and I could pull them out, but I shouldn't have to do that. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks.

Sully, I think it is an odd coincidence that we both have "101 problems". I thought this was an iPod problem at first, but I have reset the iPod and started all over. The problem persists. I think the problem is in iTunes. In my case at least, there seems to be a list of m4p files within iTunes that were on this iPod before, files that i have replaced with regular mp3 files now, and iTunes doesn't want to copy over them. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Apps won`t sync to iPod from iTunes

My friend is trying to download Zombie Farm onto his iPod from iTunes on his PC, but it wouldn`t sync the app. He tried to download another app and it is all apps not just the one. We have been trying to get answers for at least 30 minutes and still haven`t found anything on the subject. We don`t know what to do from here and we are getting sort of mad.

What account (Apple ID) did you originally purchase the app with? iTunes will only sync over app's from the accounts that you have authorized iTunes for.

If this app was originally purchased by a different apple ID, you must authorize iTunes to use that Apple ID.
If you purchased directly onto the iPod, check what apple ID is set on the iPod. To do this, select the "home" button to get to the main screen, then select "settings", then "store". The Apple ID that the iPod is set to use will be listed near the bottom
