Getting nowhere

Well at point of sale I was told my speed is approx 63 even tho the person I spoke to today said there noway I can go faster because I was quoted that speed.
I received 74mb from day one but after some bad weather my electric went out around 3-4 times and when it finally came back on it dropped to about 60mb.
After speaking to BT today and being told that rebooting the white modem has no effect on the speed what so ever I knew I wasn't gonna receive the help I need because he was telling me soo many things that was wrong so I put in a complaint about the information he was giving me, he also said the mods here don't work for BT and they are wrong and he is right.
I phoned BT open reach this morning and they said they would fix my profile but BT need to request it, I told the guy from BT what they said and he said open reach is wrong he said BT wholesale are the only ones that can change the ip profile so I'm confused.
After rebooting today because the BT adviser asked me to the new profile is 58mb now I told him that's cause I rebooted the modem and he said it's not the white modem doesn't affect it lol.
I understand the point of sale was 63 and I'm now getting 58 but I don't understand if I was getting 74mb with no faults on the line why my profile can't be changed it really is so stupid this can't be fixed, I'm tempted to change to sky or talk talk in the hope that my line would be at the highest speed which is 74mb.

58Mb is still well within acceptable limits of a point of sale speed of 63Mb. If you leave things alone instead of insisting for an immediate fix, there's every probability the speed will increase on it's own accord to the maximum the line can handle.
*edit* I noticed you said it has now been 3 months. Have you been resetting the modem or tampering with the equipment at all in this time? Have there been any further power cuts?

    Do not delete the old version of Numbers (Numbers 2.3, Numbers'09). It has features that the new Numbers has lost (in particular, Print View).
    Numbers '09 has been moved to a folder called iWork '09 inside your Applications folder. The icon on your Dock continues to point to Numbers '09. Launching Numbers from that icon is why you get the "Update" message. Numbers 2.3 is trying to open a Numbers 3 document.
    The new version of Numbers (Numbers 3.2 is the latest version) lives in your Applications folder (not a sub folder). Drag that icon to your Dock. It will become an Alias. Right click (or control click) on it and Options > Keep In Dock. Now you can chose which version to run.
    Numbers 2 on the left (three columns)
    Numbers 3 on the right (four columns).
    Both versions will run happily side by side. Just be sure which version you use to open a Numbers document. If Numbers 3 tries to "steal" a Numbers 2 document, you will get a warning when you start to edit:
    Edit a Copy will preserve your Numbers 2 document and create a Numbers 3 copy. Cancel will get you out. Upgrade will convert your Numbers 2 document to a Numbers 3 document.
    If all else fails, you can do Menu > File > Export To > Numbers '09 to revert.
    Do not delete Numbers '09 (or Numbers '08) from your machine! You will need them.

    you may as well install the later lr 5.7.1 rather than 5.6 and then updating.

    Just Power off your Iphone wait for 10 seconds and then power on again and got to settings and software update it will download the update once again and it will work fine.

    I am not a Verizon Wireless customer.  I was, but I changed over in 2011 because the coverage with another carrier was better than where we previously lived for 17 years.  We are middle aged, fiscally very conservative and sound, and expected no problems whatsoever when my husband decided to retire in June and for us to move out of state, selling our real property and buying our dream home in the place we choose to retire.  We had a regular monthly credit report company but last summer they stopped offering the low cost arrangement our credit card offered years ago.  We lost a family member after a six month decline and had no reason to believe anything was wrong.  My husband ordered up his report and score and was way up as we expected.  I then ordered mine and I fell off my chair (literally).  My score had dropped by one hundred points because someone opened a Verizon Wireless account last October in my name, ran up the account to more than a thousand dollars, and bailed.  Supposedly, it was sent to collections but since the phone seems to have been ordered in New York and I haven't lived there since 1970 (as a kid), I knew it wasn't me.  I went through all of the required steps, wrote my dispute out, sent proof of my police report, complained to the Federal Trade Commission, and spoke to a representative named Justin who confirmed that it was clear it was not my account (he could not legally give me more at that time but that should no longer apply).  I get an e-mail that gives me a report number and tells me to sit tight, basically.
    Crickets chirping.
    A few days ago, I get an e-mail from the previously very helpful Justin that says something to the effect of "oh, that's just a collection account.  All is good! Bye!!"  Wait, what?  I can't get the e-mail to let me reply so I wait for the new reports to come out, expecting that my fully documented case of identity theft will be resolved.
    It is now a month and when I ordered my three reports and score for the new quarter, voila!  MY SCORE ACTUALLY WENT DOWN MORE!!!!!!
    I am on my 4th call today, and taking screenshots every five minutes I wait.  After more than two hours of being lied to "your representative will be with you in a few brief moments), I am ready to go off the grid or start collecting names and contacts of those who are not customers of Verizon Wireless whose identity has been stolen because I believe we are not restricted from filing a class action suit because we have no contractual relationship with Verizon Wireless.
    Okay...after more than 30 minutes on call 4, I was patched through to the Fraud Department to a representative named Greg.  He patiently listened to my rant about how horrible their internal phone system is, he remained completely cool and calm, I calmed down, confirmed that I know he is not the problem nor can he effectuate any major changes, he took my number in case we were disconnected (which, surprisingly, we were not) and an hour later the fraudulent account has been closed out, my credit reports will be corrected, and I will receive information with which to pursue the harm the thief committed.
    There has to be an easier way and I will remind these companies that ignoring or ******* off the victims didn't do the Roman C. Church any good either.  It is unfair that there are those who seem to believe anything they can get away with is okay and that companies who employ people etc get ripped off, but as the collateral damage victim, I can't spread out my losses.  I urge Verizon Wireless to make it a priority to service all identity theft victims, especially since some of the thefts come from Verizon Wireless employees.  Otherwise, they are creeping ever closer to a huge, huge lawsuit.

    I am sorry this happened to you. We found out today that the Galaxy phone my wife purchased for me and put 300.00 cash downpayment on was stolen by an employee. Of course calling does not do a thing. All they do is say sorry and hang up. I will find a way to get that money and then leave this company. It just stinks that they take the word of an employee (who by the way was not there two weeks later) and we spoke to the manager who said he would take care of it but did not.  We are out 300.00 and screwed I guess. WE WILL BE LEAVING THIS COMPANY.
    I know they don't care but it made me feel good to type in caps. I really do not care who is my carrier anymore, they cannot be as bad as this one,

  • Brand new iMac. Indesign CS6 will not work at all. It will not reinstall. Tried to contact adobe and I get nowhere.

    I can't reinstall from the adobe site. I get an installation failed message. I can't use the version that I transferred from my old iMac. I am missing plug-ins. Something called JBX and LILO.Indesing.Plugin. I can't find any of these on the web or on the adobe site. I've called apple they say they are third party things and can't help me. Other users have had similar issues but I can't find out how they solved them. I am in a panic. I have a ton of work to do and can't get my swell new computer to run my software. RUNNING CS6

    SJ1122 have you removed the migrated InDesign CS6 installation using the uninstaller located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder?  If so then please also run the CC Cleaner tool - Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html to ensure complete removal.
    Adobe applications are not designed to be copied/migrated/transferred to other computers.  In the future please migrate/transfer/copy your documents and settings and reinstall your Adobe Creative Applications.

      I have installed and removed /reinstalled Flash Player repeatedly (using the Adobe uninstaller and both the webpage and standalone installer) in my Asus laptop.   I've confirmed my activeX and scripting options each time, and enabled &quot;Shockwave Flash Object&quot; in ie8 &quot;manage add-ons&quot;...  Each time I uninstall it, i make sure the system32 and sysWOW64 folders are emptied, and I see them repopulate after every install. I also see it reappear in ie8 add-ons each time, yet Adobe's own webpage always says it isn't present, and visits to webpages with flash content always evokes a &quot;this site requires flashplayer&quot; notice...  I often use &quot;Speedtest.net&quot; to double-check, and get same result.  Just to see what would happen, I even repeatedly installed it on the Adobe webpage - and it let me!... What the heck is going on here?????  This all began recently after updating both flashplayer and receiving windows updates - (but I even tried uninstalling the windows updates, just in case - still no good!)  My system has been repeatedly scanned for viruses and rootkits by Avast, Malwarebytes, UnHackMeand superantispyware - all with negative results, and I have no other problems or anomalies in my web browsing...

    ANY of those will work where IE won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

  • No satellite signal on certain channels after changing boxes - getting nowhere with sky help

    So I got a new sky box from sky and have been getting the No Satellite signal message on certain channels (i.e. Sky1 HD, Sky Atlantic and Sky Sports) since I changed the boxes. I have tried all the suggestions in the online help as well as through the call centre  personnel who just repeat the same thing over and over. Can anyone please assist? To get things started: 1.  Yes, the viewing card was paired.2. The input signals show OK for any channel that is possible to view. When you look at the input signal details for a non-working channel then Input 1 shows as NOT LOCKED and input 2 as OK.3. Communal dish and no problems in other flats.  

    It might be local interference.  You'll have to switch off any wireless equipment in the room,  and especially a wireless router,  cordless phone base station and anything else that radiates signals. You should also unbundle ( if applicable ) your dish Input cables from anything else behind the box, in particular power leads. If you're using the white,  pre-moulded cables from the likes of Homebase,  B&Q etc,  it might be an idea to replace them with good quality,  double-screened cabling such as WF100 which you can buy online. Are you able to borrow someone else's HD box to test in your flat,  or are you able to check out your own box on a non-communal setup?

    There should be a program that came with the camera that can view the AVCHD videos.  It may have the ability to save-as other formats.
    One program that is good for converting some video formats to M4V or MP4 required by iPad, is HandBrake.  <Download Handbrake> If you can save the videos to an intermediate format, HandBrake may be able to complete the comversion to MP4.
