Getting Object already exist error when installing adobe reader

I'm unable to install any Adobe application programs on my Windows 7 machine.  I tried Adobe Reader XI, Lightroom 5.6, Photoshop CC, etc.  All resulted with "Object Already Exist" error.  I searched on Adobe site for fix, and there was one to delete Crypto file.  However, this resulted with the same error.  How can I install Adobe Reader?

Your approach is correct in identifying the error.  I used ProcMon from Sysinternals (now Microsoft) and came up with the following events leading up to "Object already exists" error.  The error occurs after opening C:\Users\%account%\AppData\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-....... file.  If the Crypto directory is missing, MSIEXEC.EXE will create along with RSA subdirectory and file name starting with S-1-5.....  There were five NAME NOT FOUND events, and their sequence is
     Windows Installer Logging item in HKLM\SOFTWARE registry
     C:\Users\%account%\AppData\Local\Temp\MSI7058d.LOG (this file was created at the next step)
     Windows Installer Debug item in HKLM\SOFTWARE registry
     FontSubstitution in HKLM\SOFTWARE registry
     CTF Known Classes item in HKLM|SOFTWARE registry
I don't know which one causing the error, but my suspicion is the last one. But I don't know how to fix it.  Is there anyone who can give me insight to what is happening and how to fix it?

  • Receiving "object already exists" error when installing

    I tried installing adobe Lightroom 5.6 recently want whenever i get to 'updating component registration'
    I haven't gotten the program installed yet, and there is nothing in the adobe folder, I also tried restarting multiple times and messing with some registry things a bit and still haven't gotten the program to completely install yet, any advice. Thank you!

    Hi,
    If you are using Windows you may want to follow the instructions in this thread: 5.6 Installation fails "object already exists"
    There seems to be a Windows installer problem in some cases.
    Hopefully someone from Adobe Tech will pick up on it.

  • I'm getting an 'objects already exist' error when trying to download itunes

    My iPhone 6 wouldn't connect to iTunes since it need to update. So I went to uninstall iTunes and all it's contents. I went to download iTunes again, but when I did I received an 'Object already exists' error. I went to look at more information on the Apple website and I tried everything I could but I keep receiving the error. I uninstalled anything related to Apple on my computer and I went to the Program Files folder on my computer and found nothing related to Apple so I'm pretty sure I deleted all the data already. I really need help with this. I have a Windows 7 computer.

    For "Object already exists" or "Access denied" errors when installing try opening Control Panel > Programs and Features > View installed updates then checking for Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2918614). Uninstall if you have it, then reboot and try installing again.
    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
    The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Getting "object already exists" message when trying to install new software.

    Quite coincidentally, I came across a solution for the "object already exists" message that had recently been interferring with the downloading of new software.  This solution was offered by another on a different website, but it has solved my problem.
    My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate.
    The Windows Security Update  KB2918614 seems to be wreaking havoc with some systems.  It did so with mine.
    After removing this particular update, I am now able to install software (was actually just trying to reinstall my HP printer software as I am having another issue with it).
    Don't know if this will help anyone else, but it worked for me.

    To rid myself of the "object already exists" issues due to the Windows Security Update KB2918614 . . . I have learned that an additional step must be taken to keep Windows Updates from automatically reinstalling this update . . . once again, preventing installation of software.
    One needs to hide the update to prevent Window Updater from reinstalling.
    Taken from the Windows community:
    Marilyn - Support Engineer replied on December 9, 2008
    The update in question can be hidden, which will prevent this update from downloading and installing.
    To hide this update:
           Open Control Panel
           Open Security
           Select ‘Windows Update
           Select the option View Available Updates in the upper left hand corner
           Locate the update in question, right click and select ‘Hide Update’
    Thanks
    Once again, my operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate and this particular update was causing difficulty for my specific operating system.

    Hi,
    Please provide the windows installer log of Adobe Reader installation, it will be helpful to know the exact cause of filure.
    To get the windows installer log follow the steps given below:
    1. Enable the Windows Installer logging on your machine. ( Find the help to enable Windows Installer logging at : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300 ).
        OR simply create the following registry key:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer\]
    "Logging"="voicewarmup"
    2. Now get the Adobe Reader Installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ .
    3. Now try to install Adobe Reader.
    4. If Installation fails, cancel it.
    5. Get the Windows Installer log which is created in %temp% directory. It is a file, that begins with letters "Msi" and have a .log extension.
    6. Share this file.
    Thanks.

  • Error when installing Adobe Reader 9

    I am getting an error on installation on Adobe Reader IX that reads "The profile for the user is a temporary profile", how can I fix this and install Adobe Reader IX?

    FWIW - The Acrobat 9 product family (which includes Adobe Reader 9) passed into End Of Support mid-year 2013.
    Be well...

  • Frustrated because I keep getting "action list not found" when installing adobe-reader.

    1. I had Adobe-reader installed and working but kept getting pop-up screens telling me to update.
    2. Each time I tried updating, an error-message showed up "action list not found".
    3a. So I thought deleting adobe-reader and doing a fresh install might work.
    3b. Using Goggle-Chrome, I still get the same error-message.
    3c. Then trying Internet-Explorer as a browser, I still get the same error-message.
    4. The real problem now is I have no Adobe-reader at all and that will make my wife unhappy.
    5. Operating-system is XP; I don't know how to tell if I have SP-2 or SP-3 if that makes a difference at all.

    This problem has been resolved; ultimately, I found out via Googling that XP-SP2-32bit can only handle Version 9.5.
    I am upset that Adobe kept telling me for weeks now that I needed to update but they directed me to an update my system is incapable of handling.
    Hence the error "action list not found". Dumb!!! I trusted them that they knew what they were doing.
    I felt it would help to uninstall what I had and do a fresh install.
    Now in that path, Adobe directed me to download version 9.0, which I did.
    Then somehow I found out that version 9.5 is the latest-greatest for my machine.
    Why did Adobe not make available 9.5 right away instead of 9.0??? Dumb again!!!!
    Nice product though; bad execution.
    I'm done venting.

    when installing adobe reader on my mac it states that the install is complete, but on same screen its sets thaw an internal server error has occurred and reader will not work

    Hi,
    I have exactly the same problem on one of my Macs (MBP 15 Mid-2010 / OS X Yosemite): Both reader and Acrobat Pro download without a hitch. Both also install with no problem.
    But once you click the program to open, they both return "an internal error occurred".
    I tried downloading three separate copies, and still get the same error message when I install and launch.  I've also uninstalled the previous installations via CleanMyMac2 to make sure it's no longer in the SSD.  Same results.
    Am using a new SSD as internal boot drive, with fresh / clean installation of OS X and Apps (previous internal HDD crashed) -- And am seeing errors not only with Acrobat, but also with LR5 which always comes up with a "An error occurred when attempting to change modules" -- inspite or uninstall, download and reinstall.  Not sure if it's a registry issue? (Not even sure if that's the case with OS X).
    Do I need to reformat the whole SSD? I hope not!
    Thanks

  • Folder name already exists error when activating feature

    HI,
    I am creating a document library and adding folders to it using elements.xml in VS 2012.
    First time deployment of the item works fine, the folder is created. But further deployment or activation of feature from site features is throwing the error "Folder name already exists".
    Below is the elements.xml of List Instance, which was modified to add the folders.
    <ListInstance Title="TestLibrary" OnQuickLaunch="FALSE" TemplateType="101" FeatureId="Guid" Url="Lists/TestLibrary" Description="TEST Library List Instance">

    <Field Name="Title">Test_Two</Field>
    <Field Name="FSObjType">1</Field>
    </Row>
    </Rows>
    </Data>
    </ListInstance>
    How to fix this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you got “Folder name already exists error when activating feature”.
    I had used the following code snippet to create a folder within a document library, it didn’t throw errors when reactive the feature.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
    <ListInstance Title="LibTest"
    OnQuickLaunch="TRUE"
    TemplateType="10000"
    Url="Lists/LibTest"
    Description="My Lib Instance">
    </ListInstance>
    <Module Url="Lists/LibTest/Folder1" />
    </Elements>
    http://shareden.blogspot.com/2012/11/creating-feature-with-image-library.html
    Also, when you redeploy the project, it will give you a dialog which would promote to delete the existed list or not.
    If you click the “Resove Automatically”, the visual studio would delete the existed list automatically, and create a new list.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • HT6413 I keep getting a installation pkg error when installing icloud for windows 7 on my pc.

    I keep getting an windows installation error when installing icloud for windows 7.  I have tried installing manually without success.

    There is a very long way which is removing anything related to Apple including stuff in the registry.
    The short way is as follows. It worked for me.
    I have seen that in the forum EXCEPT the registry trick which is missing and does the different.
    1. Remove the Apple account from Outlook.  In my case a me.com account.
    2. Disconnect the connection to ICloud in the control panel of version 3.1.
    REBOOT and open Outlook to see that all traces of the email account and of ICloud are gone.
    3. Uninstall ICloud 3.1. I used REVO Uninstaller in Safe way mode. It removed some stuff in the registry from what I see; but not sure.
    4. Delete as much stuff as possible in the C \Program Files (x86) \Common Files \ Apple
    and C\Program Files\Common Files \Apple.  My computer is 64 bits.
    5. Go to the registry by typing regedit.exe or simply type regedit in the Start Box. Search for ICloud.  I deleted TWO entries related to ICloud. Otherwise, you will still see the ICloud control panel despite the fact that you removed 3.1.
    6. then I was able to install ICloud 4 immediately.  Upon restarting it asked me my email and password and added itseft to Outlook like it was before. Be aware that you address book in Outlook could be deleted, so do an export before.

  • Error 1923 installing Adobe Reader XI

    When installing Adobe Reader XI I get:
    Error 1923. Service Adobe Acrobat Update Service (AdobeARMUpdate) couldn't be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services.
    This happens after UAC elevation dialog. Running the installer as administrator doesn't help. Even when I select to update manually, I still get the same error.

    Hi,
    This error is coming because service might already be in use. The file can be in use by any anti-virus or  data back-up softwares. It is also possible that your previous un-install has been unsuccessful, and it was already using the service. You can try two things :
    1. Reboot your system once. It should fix all scenarios.
    2. Another thing which you can try is Go to Control Panel ->Administrative Tools ->View local Services. Select Adobe Acrobat Service, Right click and stop it. Then try installation.
    You can try msiexec /i [Path to MSI file] DISABLE_ARM_SERVICE_INSTALL="1" as suggested by LeoAdobeX but I will not recommend this. We would like our users to be updated with latest update and service just helps in that.
    Keep us posted about the outcome.
