Getting old messagesl off Gmail POP

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I didn't really find quite what I was after.
Due to a backup glitch I have had to reinstall an earlier back up on my computer. I have several months worth of messages that I can read on line on my gmail account but there is a gap in my emails stored on my laptop.
Is there anyway to get those back into mail?

First Quit Mail, then I'd backup these two Mail folders, by right clicking on them in the Finder, then choose Archive/Compress.
Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail
Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Downloads
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
Right click on that Mail folder, choose archive, you'll get everything in the folder, and the folder itself in a file called Mail.zip, move it to a safe place, same for the Mail Downloads folder... only the plist is separate.
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist

Buy one of these hard drive adapters.

Getting old site off the 'net without appropriate files. (to start over with same domain name)

As a complete novice, I'm not even sure how to start this question...but, I have tried everything and I think I have "lost" my website in terms of bringing in back into DW and changing/updating it. My backup files on my computer have disappeared and the appropriate files through my cPanel to bring it back to in order make changes aren't there. The website still functions, but it is outdated for my business needs.
So, at this point, my question is this; how can I gain control over the domain and start over from scratch. I don't want what is out there anymore, but without control through the above mentioned devices, is it even possible to build a new website and get the old one off the 'net as it is and still keep the original www.name.com?
I'm clueless at this point. Thanks.

You will need to sort out the FTP issues because when you have edited your site, you will need to upload it and so FTP details will be required.
Your first port-of-call to sort this out is to contact your host who can reset the password for you so that you can start all over again. The alternative, is to give your password/login details to Murray (PRIVATELY) so that he can try from his machine. When this is done, you can always change the password for your own security.

How do I get old pictures off of my Ipod nano 4th generation? I don't care to save them, I just want them off.

I've had the Ipod for a while (by 4th generation, I figured you could tell), and I just want to get the pictures off of it so I have more space for music. I can't figure out how to do so, so any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you have photos on your iPod nano that you would like to remove. These pictures would have had to have been synced over through iTunes from a folder on your computer. This article outlines how to sync photos to your device, but you can also use it to disable photo syncing and remove them as well:

In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.

Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
Click Apply.

Getting old messages off server(gmail)

So, long story short, I have used Mail on 2 accounts in the last few months. The issue now is that when I loaded up Mail on the account i'm using now it did not retrieve all the mail that was between the last time I opened (july 15) and today. Is there a way to force that??

update:
reindexed and still missing the 2 months....while reindexing it indicated 8k+ emails. the total at the top of the mail program after reads 5k.
rebuild and same...
why wont it pull the 2 months worth of messages off the server??
grrr
is there a way to combine the mail folder on the other account w/ this one?

Are you sure the contacts are in the Backup Assistant Plus? It is my understanding that the Backup Assistant has been incorporated into the VZW Cloud.
Could the contacts be saved in your Gmail account instead?

Photos that were transferred from your computer via a sync are removed by syncing again.
Start iTunes on your computer and connect your iPad. Select your iPad in the left column of iTunes and select Photos in the right column. Scroll down and deselect the albums you no longer want on your iPad. Then click on Apply. The albums will be removed but will remain on your computer.

Trying to get old emails off old n96 forever

because i'm no longer synching this phone to my outlook mailbox it won't wipe all the deleted messages.
have tried removing the MfE application and associated content but they are still there.

I suggest you reset your phone with *#7370#.
*#7370# will restore the phone from ROM and whipe all stuff on C:, and set it in a state as it was when you got it. (firmware uppdates will still be applied)
Alos by reset the phone the new user will get a fresh phone they can customize them self.

Cannot get old podcast off to repost new one

I have been trying for at least a month to get my podcast in the iTunes store. I have to admit, the first times I tried, it was easy. But those were podcasts done on Garageband and submitted through the new Quicktime without the Variable Bit Rates and chapters were turned into movies. They could not be downloaded to iPods. Two tries were removed http://www.radasky.com/Site/TheFoxPodcast/rss.xml and http://www.radasky.com/Site/MP3__Podcast/rss.xml but the next one, despite all my requests and trouble reported in downlooads by friends, is still in the store http://www.radasky.com/Site/Listento_TheFox/rss.xml . It has the incorrect chapters and cannot be subscribed to. A message "There was a problem downloading "The Fox Podcast" comes up. I have tried to resubmit and get a confirmation that my site is being looked at but nothing from there. What can I do now?

I just updated my iPhone with the newest update IOS 6.1. My old Apple ID keeps popping up on my iPhone for me to type in the password that I no longer know. All the passwords I type in do not work. I no longer have access to this email which is my old Apple ID. After installing the newest software update my old Apple ID came up to finish configuring. Since I no longer have access to this Apple ID and email account and after trying some passwords I skipped the step. It then said FaceTime, iCloud (which I do not use), and more may not work. I clicked that it was OK since I could not remember the password to my old Apple ID. I then went to my settings to be sure my newer email was my Apple ID by typing in my current Apple ID and password. Also, I went to Manage my Apple ID online and my old Apple ID could not be found. Is it OK I skipped that step in the IOS 6.1 configuration? How do I get my old Apple ID to stop popping up?

It sounds like you restored from an old back-up. Did you back-up just before your software update? It will use your last one and if your last back-up was a ywear old then it will use that one.
In general, if you are getting these messages on your iPhones select logout (when you get that Apple Id request) and then log back in with your newer ID.

I think how you understand the value of having backups. All you can do is:
General File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as MAC Data Recovery, Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive. Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk. Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads. Recovery software usually provide trial versions that enable you to determine if the software would help before actually paying for it. Beyond this or if the drive has completely failed, then you would need to send the drive to a recovery service which is very expensive.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.
Also visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on Data Recovery.
You will need an external enclosure for the old drive so you can connect it to the computer in order to try the recovery software before you buy it. But if they don't work then you will need to send the drive to a recovery service such as Drive Savers.
