Getting Page 1 to print first?

No matter what I do, if  something - a spread sheet, a letter, etc  - carries over even slightly beyond one page, it ALWAYS prints the second page first. This has happened with EVERY HP printer I have ever had! Very frustrating! Is there a solution? Now using a Photosmart C4280 AIO

Hi,
Please close the application which being used to print first,
Enter Control Panel > Printers & Faxes
Right click the printer icon and then click Printing Preferences.
Select the Advanced tab and change the Page Order value according your need (Should be the latest option)
That will set it to default for future use as well.
Now open the application, click File > Print and then hit the Properties or Preferences button - One of them should open the same window as before. just validate it is the same as configured earlier under the Advanced tab. approve and print.

  • How do I get Pages to quit printing small boxes in my text?

When setting up a small, 2 page flyer, I like change numbered sentences to a dark red, make them bold, then make them superscript.  All of this is built into my Pages '09 templates and makes things easier to read for younger folks.
I created a new document from one of these templates today and it looked perfect on the screen but when I printed the document, between the bold, dark red superscript number and the first letter of the sentance, where I had left a space, I now have (only on the printed copy) a small box.  I don't know why it shows up only when printed, but I'm hoping someone can help me get Pages to stop printing those boxes.
Thanks for any and all help!

You may also add OpenOffice spell checkers, there is a long list of languages, including Norwegian. These may be used with other apps too. Downloaded OO dics have the extension .oxt, manually change it to .zip, confirm when asked that you really wish to do this. Open the resulted folder and take from there .dic and .aff files, and move them to /Library/spelling. You may thus have as many spell checking dics as you wish. They may be selected in all the apps based on the Cocoa engine, including Pages.
In the attached screenshot, in the lower part you may see these dics.
P.S. I am not very familiar with Norwegian, but it seems the article does not specify how to download and install OO dics.

  • How do I get Pages to capitalize the first word of a sentence and the letter 'I?"

How do I get Pages to capitalize the first word of a sentance and the letter "i" automacticly?

I jus upgraded from Pages 4.3 and it's in Preferences. Not so in Pages 5.0.

  • Cannot get Pages to let printer manage the color

This is actually a Pages '06 issue, but the Pages'06 discussion is closed so I could not post this question there.
I am leaving out a lot of hsitory to be as brief as possible, but I will say this much. I did have Leopard installed, but this OS X had an issue with Painter X so I removed Leopard and re-installed Tiger. There is a documented conflict with Painter X that Apple and Corel have not been able to rectify. I use Painter to put beans on the table, so I had no choice but to re-install Tiger. Whether this is the cause of my problem, I do not know. Here is my current dilemma.
All of my Pages prints use to print perfectly. Now, no matter what I do, they are flat and dull. I would like to use my ICC Color Profiles to manage my color rather than allow Pages to color manange.
To be clear all of my ink cartridges are fresh and all printer nozzles are clear. Many tests have been run on my Epson R2400 and none have shown any problems whatsoever.
What I believe may be the problem here is that in the Print / ColorSync /Color Conversion pull-down menu, 'Standard' is my only choice. 'In Printer' is the only other option, but it is grayed out, unselectable. The Pages manual states that:
'Standard: Uses the default settings in Pages ...
'In Printer: Lets the printer ... control color management ...
Does anyone know what may be a solution to making 'In Printer' selectable?? Am I overlooking something? I could almost print in Pages with my eyes closed and get perfect prints every time. But that has all changed for some reason.
Pages'08 does not even have a ColorSync option in its print menu which gives me pause to wonder, but if anyone has a suggestion about using Pages'08 and my problem, then I all ears. In addition, the Pages'08 manual does not even have printing instrctions, so this was no help either.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

OK, if you are using the ICC architecture for a living, and if you have a problem with a file format / application, you need to talk to the Apple ColorSync Users List.
This is incorrect. The correct interface information is, "In Printer: Lets the PostScript interpreter control colour management". You do not have a printer with a built-in PostScript interpreter, so the system computes the colourant conversion. Hence, In Printer is grayed out.
Does anyone know what may be a solution to making 'In Printer' selectable?? Am I overlooking something?
Sure, buy an Adobe CPSI (Configureable PostScript Software Interpreter) running on a Mac server or Windows server, or but one that comes as an embedded controller in a colour printer, and you can use the command 'In Printer'.
Pages'08 does not even have a ColorSync option in its print menu which gives me pause to wonder,
Thankfully, since Pages should not have its own ICC API, but should be a client of the system in general and the ColorSync Utility in particular. What Pages does not have is object-level ICC source profile assignment, and object-level rendering intent settings.
You can get this, but if you make a mistake, you kill your colours. For instance, if you select Absolute Colorimetric as rendering intent, you match the white point of the source colour space into the graybalance and clip the lightness linearly to the lightness of the printing condition.
By hiding rendering intent settings, you get a fairly foolproof situation.
In addition, the Pages'08 manual does not even have printing instrctions, so this was no help either.
Printing instructions are the property of the printer manufacturer who plugs a printer driver into the system. What you can argue, and many would agree, is that configuration of the ColorSync Utility and the Display control panel is underdocumented. But that in itself is a bit of a job.

  • Multi-page reports only print first page

Hello...I'm using Crystal Reports version that comes with Visual Studio 2003 (I think its Crystal 9).
I have a report that has totals at the end. All is fine if the report is less than a page. If the report is more than a page...then the report only produces a page and I don't get anything else (i.e., missing detail and of course the totals).
    Kind regards,

  • Why does a last page get printed first?

I recently printed a 6 page article, and the 6th page was printed first and then the others in backward order ( at least in a different order than all of the other  printers I have had).   This was OK because the first page was on top of the stack, BUT is there a way to set it so it prints the first page first etc.   I do know that I can tell it to print just page one,  or pages 1-3 etc.   Perhaps this printer is just set up to do it that way.

  • How to print second page as continuation of First Page.

    Hello,
I am printing a script. I want to print next page as continuation of first page.
I am printing some contents. It is overflowing the first page, But remaining contents are not appearing at
    Next page.
    How to print that.
    Can any body plz help.

    Hi,
If the text doesn't fit in page, the it will be printed in the next page.
If it is one line or two line by increasing the length of the window, you can accomodate. But if it more than than then its not possible to print in the same page.
If you dont want to get the text truncated then just use PROTECT and ENDPROTECT command in order to protect the text.
Then the whole text will be printed either in First Page or Second page depending on the amout of text.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vamsi.

  • Why does my Laserjet 2055dn only print the first page of a print job?

In our domain, we have a number of 2055dn printers that act up on intermittent bases.  At times, they function properly, but other times they will only print the first page of a print job.  Our domain has only HP printers so there should be no conflict with drivers.  My solution has been to delete the printer on the local machine and then to reinstall them after reboot.  That has helped at times.  In other cases, I have installed the printer only on the local machine and not the copy on my printer server.
I have updated the print drivers, on the server and on the local machines.  I have changed drivers to PS, to PCL 5 and to PCL 6.
This only seems to occur in one of my three buildings that house this model of printer.  I have even done firmware upgrades on the printers.
I appreciate any help that I can get on this continuing problem.  Thanks much.

    Then use the latest solution!
    Which doesn't need specifying either.

  • Getting a report to print pages consecutively.

I am working on an 18 page Vendor Application questionnaire in Report Builder 6.0.5.35.0 and am having trouble getting the paging to work the way I want.
The layout consists primarily of boilerplate questions which use the &column_name syntax to bind previously supplied answers as lexical variables, which the vendor then reviews and corrects. These questions are individual boilerplate items placed in eighteen frames, with each frame enclosed in its own repeating frame that has as its source the vendor group in the Data Model. It was originally built this way because if you have just one R-Frame and boilerplate frames that are larger than one panel you get error REP-1814 " Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'M_21' ".
The problem is that when you print out questionnaires for 40 vendors all of the page ones are printed, then all the page twos, etc. This situation necessitates a lot of collation that I'd like to avoid by having all pages print for the first vendor, then all for the second vendor, and so on.
    Can anyone suggest alternative methods?
    Many thanks,
    Ken Nellis

It was originally built this way because if you have just one R-Frame
and boilerplate frames that are larger than one panel you get error
REP-1814 " Object 'vertically' can never fit within 'M_21' ". Actually, you had it right the first time until you hit the above error. To do what you want, you need to just that - have one repeating frame that surrounds all eighteen frames so that you execute all eighteen frames for each instance of the repeating frame.
I'm assuming you were hitting the above error, not because "M_21" was larger than one panel but because, when it came to print, it was positioned outside of the panel. This has to do with how the anchoring works. Unless an object is beneath another object that either expands or contracts, then it will be anchored to the top left hand corner of the page. ie: the distance between it and the top left hand corner won't change.
You managed to get around this problem with repeating frames since they implicitly expand and hence all objects underneath them are anchored to the frame above it and not the page.
    To do what you want:
    - replace all your repeating frames with group frames
    - set the "vertical elasticity" property to "variable" on each group frame
    - create one repeating frame that surrounds everything
    - set the "vertical elasticity" property to "variable" on the repeating frame
    - Run the report.
You might just like to try this first using frames the same size as your pages and then start adding the content to see it working.
Note: If you also have a requirement to fix the size of each frame, you can still have another fixed sized group frame within the variable sized group frame. The above will still work since an implicit collapsing anchor is created between each variable size frame regardless of what is inside of it.

  • My firefox downloads print first page correctly, remainder are outside page borders

My firefox, when I want to download to printer or to PDF, prints first page ok, remainder have large font causing only left part of page printed.

Looks like you have '''Print Background (color & images)''' enabled on for all three printers you have installed, Adobe PDF included. ''I see those settings in your More system details.'' That's why you are getting the grey (monochrome Laserjet) or blue background, but that should be printed on the first page, too.
File > Page Setup - un-check that preference

  • How to get Report Builder to print a section on the same page

I have a section of my report that is three bands. A header
band, the detail band, and a total line band. Sometimes this
section will get split up and print part on the next page. So
basically I need for this section to print on the same page. I know
that I could insert a page break right above the header, but this
will make my report way longer than it needs to be. I have also
unchecked "split allowed" for that band also but that didn't make a
difference. Is there some way to group three bands together so that
if it is two big to print the section on the current page then
print the whole section on the next page. It is driving our
accounting lady nuts because when she likes to verify that the
totals are coming out right and sometimes she has to flip over to
the next page to continue calculating.

you need to create a multi-instrument in the environment next to your audio-instrument,then push a cable from there to your audio-instrument.in the arrange window your multi-instrument will appear in the window where you select the track-type next to the audio tracks, audio-busses etc. these midi tracks now trigger your vsti on the selected midi channel.you have to record your midi now on these tracks and not on the audio-instrument track, because there you only trigger its own channel. i hope i explained it well but i think you have understood what i ment.

  • URL, title etc of webpages do not print on pages printed off internet despite selecting these in header/footers in page set up. How do I get URL etc to print on the page?

No matter how I try I cannot get the URL of a webpage or other options such as page title, date etc to print if I print up a webpage. I have done the necessary selections in file>page setup>headers & footers choosing the options from the drop downs. I have even tried making top or bottom margin bigger thinking there was not space on the page. This is still the case if I try to print to different printers.
Is there something I am missing that needs to be done via some other setting or menu item?

Thanks, this was a good idea to try, however it doesn't seem to have helped.
    I reset:
    print.print_printer
    Also tried resetting:
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_footercenter
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_footerleft
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_footerright
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_headercenter;
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_headerleft
    print.printer_Lexmark_6500_Series.print_headerright
    Closed and restarted the browser.
I then selected URL in footer right in page setup but still it refuses to show in print preview or print on the page in hard print. It is most peculiar. Any other ideas? Thanks.
