Getting pages to recognise speach

I know that if you highlight text in pages, and go into services -> speech, you can get pages to read out what you have written. However is there any free software or a way to get pages or tigers built in speech options, that lets me read out aloud and have the computer recognize what I'm saying and insert it into pages.

What, are you looking for a second opinion?
There is no such free application, nor is there likely to be in the foreseeable near future.
TurboDictation has the lowest price I've seen, but I've got no idea about the quality of the output, or its reliability (the more well-known applications are 3-or-more times as expensive).

I cannot get pages 4.0.1.(746) to recognise iCloud. I have recently installed Mountain Lion on my iMac and two Macbookpro's. Everythin works fine on the laptops but not on the iMac. I have reloaded MountainLion and also applied several times for update only to get no updates available. I have gone to AppStore to purchase a new pages but it tells me I already have the latest, I believe there is a later version but I cannot access it.
Has anyone any ideas.

Yes, there is a later version. You need Pages '09 version 4.2 (1008) or so.
Which support group did you consult? You should probably be talking to the Mac App Store support group.
One method that has helped some users get around similar problems is to uninstall the older version, which should let you install the newer version.

How to get safari to recognise quicktime?

I use safari for windows and seem unable to make certain media content play. I get the message; 'The page .... has content of MIME type "application/x-mplayer2". Because you don't have a plug-in installed....' which I believe refers to media player. I have media player, quicktime and realplayer installed but can't get safari to recognise any of them (but preferably quicktime). I am not too technically savvy. HELP please!! thank you vm in advance to anyone who can suggest anything.

I am trying to get pages docs created on my iPhone onto my iMac

I am trying to get pages docs created on my iPhone onto my iMac. I have iTunes 10.5 and the help docs says that in iTunes the Pages app should automatically list the docs on my iPhone. I am using the 'send to iTunes' option in the 'share and print' menu but no files appear in iTunes (the iPhone is connected and recognised by iTunes). Any ideas? The docs don't mention that I need a particular version on Pages on my Mac.

Thank you for the suggestion. I have looked at the discussion you highlighted. Unfortunately, it does not really deal with the issue I am experiencing. The discussion concerns problems with iCloud. I am not attempting to use iCloud to transfer files.
The discussion does mention using iTunes to first back up the files. However, the correspondent does not mention the problem I am experiencing. I understand from the help docs that when I after I have synced my iPhone, then the files I have created using Pages should be listed in the Apps part of iTunes. However, this does not seem to be so on my computer. The files do not appear even when I use the 'send to iTunes' option.
Is there something I am missing?

Hi Mark, my problem is very similar. I have registered myself as Service Provider at the OCP member-only page, after it I have created my account on the ePeople site where I registered my certifications, but the status is "Pending".
Does anybody know what to do?

Getting Page Load Error while opening a Opportunity in new window

outbound SSO is enabled.
when i try to punch-in to my application from CRM through opportunity web link with Web Link Target as "open in custom tab" its working properly, but when i have Web Link Target as "open in new window" i am getting page load error. previously with out Outbounf SSO it is working properly.
Do i need enable any settings in CRM

when the web link target is "open in new window" or "open in current window" the request send to third party application from CRM ONDemand is HTTPS request as SSL is not enabled it is giving "page load error"(In the web link we are specifying http only) (User athentication type is "username & password/ SSO")

Help with getting GB to recognise Yamaha NP30 via Tascam US-122MKII?

I am using a midi OUT connection from my Yamaha NP30 keyboard to the midi IN of a Tascam
US-122mkII interface. The Tascam is connected to my Mac via USB (port 1). Tascam software is installed correctly. When I open GB and select 'Piano' in 'New Project' a new track appears as usual. Under GB AUDIO/MIDI preferences the 'Audio output/Audio input' both correctly read the name of the Tascam interface, and 'Status' reads '1 midi input detected'. So, I should be getting action when I press a keyboard key, but there's absolutely nothing. GB is registering the MIDI input but not reading the keyboard connected to the interface. How do I get GB to recognise the keyboard so I can FINALLY start fully utilising GB? I went online and researched this question and one answer seemed to be installing a Yamaha driver. Yamaha doesn't list a driver for the NP30. The interface is compatible. What's the problem? Help very much appreciated, thanks:)

Hello johnnyboy_175, thanks for the reply. Not entirely sure I understand what you mean and going to edirol is even more confusing since I am using a Tascam interface? I have read the included manual backwards - no help there, as yet. The Tascam shows up in the midi window but I don't know how to link my 'outs and ins of the keyboard to the interface'. I am assuming you mean some kind of link in the software, as opposed to the actual physical connections? Could you clarify, please? Also, there is a 'Test setup' icon which does absolutely nothing when I click on it, already tried:) If you have the time and inclination, I would seriously appreciate help, thanks:)

I researched the following codes from web site:

I am using the most up to date version of Mavericks and Pages and can log into iCloud without any problems. Is this just a glitch? The files all behaved properly under previous versions and the initial release of the new version of Pages.

Pages for iCloud beta is a weird beast and as it says "beta".
I think it is the least compatible of all the many different .pages files floating around out there.

how to get page one to animate only once in interactive pdf? I like when the document opens up in acrobat and the the page animations work but when I go to one of the pages and hit my designated home button it goes back to page one but it reloads again. As a user it would drive me crazy to have to wait for all of it to load......anyway to have that page one load once as the opening page?

I don't think you really mean animations (unless you have a placed SWF file) because things created with the Animation panel don't work in PDF. Nonetheless, you're talking about some kind of interactivity which is set to happen On Page Load.
So when you return to that page, of course the interactivity loads again.
There isn't a On Page Load Once command.
Perhaps you need to rethink why the interactivity is there. If it's important, maybe it should be triggered by a rollover or by clicking a button.

Try holding down CTRL as you launch iTunes to see if it will repair the drivers.

How do I get Pages to import references and post the information as a footnote from Logos Bible Software?

I want to move to the iPad as my only computer, but am a bit frustrated by the loss of some features in the IOS version of Pages. I need the ability to create structured outlines with footnote and endnote capability. Logos Bible Software imports many cross references and properly annotates passages that I copy and paste in Microsoft Word on my PC, but I cannot get pages to do the samething on my iPad. In fact I really miss the outline generation capability in Pages. Is this something that will be addressed? Are there workarounds?

What confuses me is that all the apple provided templates in pages seem to auto update their time and date upon opening.
So there MUST be a way to do it... Ive been unable to work out how...
