Getting 'Paint' and 'Sales History' to run at the same time

Is this a matter of setting up a port for Paint and another for SH? Is there a limit to the number of OBI repositories that can be running at the same time?

Can two or more repositories exist in the same rpd file? Can Paint and SH be in the same rpd file and be used by seperate groups that access completely different data sources?
In our case, the dimensions and facts for glass used in a car are very different from the dimensions and facts for a car's transmission. There are similarities, true, but they are still very different.
So, in one rdp file can there be seperate presentation folders for Glass, Tires, Transmissions, Seats, Axil, Engine, Steering Wheels, Head Lights, and etc...
Each presentation folder would be used by different people. Each presentation folder would access different tables. The Glass Parts business will use the Glass presentation folder, the Axil Parts Guys will only use the Axil Presentation Folder, etc..

Dreamweaver and Fireworks won't run at the same time
Recently, I've run into a problem where I cannot run Dreamweaver and Fireworks at the same time.
I have Dreamweaver CS4 & Fireworks CS4, which I can still run at the same time.
However when I run Dreamweaver CS5.5 and try to launch Fireworks CS5.1 I get a C++ Runtime error in FW CS5.1.
And when I run Dreamweaver CS6 and try to launch Fireworks CS6, Fireworks CS6 freezes before fully loading.
If I run DW CS6 and launch FW CS4, I can get them both to run together, but when I close FW4, DW CS6 crashes.
Any suggestions would most appreciated.
DavidHistorically, I've always kept prior versions installed because sometimes, albeit infrequently, I need to access extensions that aren't compatible with the newer versions of CS. Since I can run DW & Fireworks CS4 together, I'm inclined to leave them installed.
I've thought about uninstalling CS 5, but I don't think that would resolved my issue. I've already tried most of what's in the Adobe troubleshooting suggestions save for creating a new administrator account.
I think I'll hobble along with my current workarounds since I'll be migrating to a new computer very soon, which should acomplish what creating a new administrator account would. I'll probably limit the reinstall to CS 6 to eliminate any issues that might be related to having multiple versions installed, which in reality shouldn't be an issue because again, I've always done that successfully in the past.

SCXI 1112 and 1302 doesn't run at the same time

I have SCXI 1112 thermocouple input module, SCXI 1180 feedthrough panel , and a SCXI 1302 terminal block connected SCXI 1000 chassis with SCXI 1349 adapter. I am trying to measure voltage by using SCXI 1180&1302, and temperature by 1112 module at the same time. When chassis is on SCXI 1112 runs without a problem; however, voltage reading coming through SCXI 1349 makes no sense (plus I can't run them at the same time, LAbview gives an error). While the chassis' power is off, it is the other way around, SCXI 1349 runs smoothly.
In addition to that, a radiometer, connected to a power supply, is wired to SCXI 1302 terminal block. When power supply is on, SCXI 1112 module's temperature reading is 4 times higher than actual value. In other words, power supply effects the readings.
Could you please give me some advice to solve this problem?

AzraOne piece of the puzzle you left out is the DAQ card being used in the host computer.
Without looking at some specifics on the SCXI cards/connectors you are using, I will comment you must be careful when you are using an 1180 feedthrough module. Keep in mind, the SCXI chassis is Signal Conditioning -- it's nothing without the DAQ.
I would recommend you back up a few steps, simplify the setup and test each input channel from MAX -- making sure you aren't overlapping channels between the 1180 to the DAQ and the SCXI chassis. Remember, most data from the SCXI chassis comes in on a single channel of the DAQ through the 1349.

1.1.7 and 1.2.2 running at the same time?
I didn't find anything by searching for this specific situation. I have a program that I need to run on servers that have java 1.1.7 installed. My app fails when I try and run it on 1.1.8. I'm using features, like zip compression, that I think require 1.2, but I'm not sure. I'm also checking to see if we can upgrade the jre.
In the meantime, can I safely run two versions of java on the same box? I tested it, by running my app with jdk1.2.2 in another directory and manually setting the classpath, etc. It ran fine, just wondering if this is a bad idea?
My other option is to modify my app to work on the older jre, but I'm not sure if I can. I'm using zip and ftp. I'm guessing almost everything else could probably be modified.

JamesYou can do it fine, I have had at least 3 different versions of java running on the same box and no problems. Just make sure you have the paths right and you are ok.

HT4437 Can't get iTunes and monitor mirroring to work at the same time.
When I turn on my airplay on itunes it turns off the airplay from my monitor. I don't know how I've done it before but I sometimes can't play itunes and have it mirror my screen at the same time so I can use the visualizer. Whenever I turn one on, the other shuts off. I've done it before. Is there a specific sequence you need to run itunes and have the mirroring work too?

I dont get sound for videos, games and music but ringtone still works. When i press volume buttons on side of phone i only get the picture of the nell and no little dots underneath. This is on my iphone 4s and ipad. It happened at the same time.
Recurring theme with the 4s losing alerts except for the phone ringing. Most complaints seem to center on the 7.1 upgrade. The fix is dodgy, putting in a charger, playing a you tube video then pulling out the charger and wiggling it until you get the sound back. When you get the sound back, the volume buttons start to work again. Alternate solutions involve cleaning the docking port with a toothbrush, running a pick over the electrodes etc.

Who can shed some light on my ongoing connection problem.
After upgrading my iPad Air with IOS 7.06, I could no longer connect to the internet.
I have 2 MacBooks Air, 1 ipad mini and one iPhone 4S running on the same network, and they are all connected to the net and function well.
So I cleaned up the ipad completely, installed the latest firmware and reinstalled my apps : no connection.
I tried all things of resets and forgets. No result.
I have been fondling with my Airport Extreme 5 , but that did not help much.
This morning I went to a neighbor , hooked my ipad air on his network, typed the password and the thing all worked fine.
I have tried to connect the ipad air as an ethernet client, but that did not work. „Not enough power“ was the statement
Ideas anyone ?Yes I tried this manyfold. But did not work. Reading on, I took Tesserac's advice. Shut down router and computer.
Start router after 15 minutes and wait another 10 minutes before starting the computer.
Et voila.... everything is back in working order,

GeoffSince they're different apps and there's no way to sync something like that: no. Sounds like you could just do a video slideshow to me. That's supported by all major video creation apps.

i was backing up my iPhone and importing photos onto iPhoto at the same time , then suddenly it says no more space available (i had 48GB before i do this and now i have 18GB) i can't find the back up or the photo anywhere , how can i delete them ? i dont need the pictures or the back ups , i want to delete them but they are not there
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown asBackups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Reboot and it should go away.
See this support article for some simple ways to free up storage space.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore the volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
If you have more than one user account, make sure you're logged in as an administrator. The administrator account is the one that was created automatically when you first set up the computer.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders, sorted by size with the largest at the top. It may take a few minutes for ODS to finish scanning.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal. -
Java threads. Are they running at the same time?
Hello everybody. I am implementing a multiagent system in java and at some point in the program i need a specific function (from a specific class) to run at the same time in several "copies". Those functions are communicating with each other with some messages, so as you can understand not running at the same time is a big problem because of this messages.
Below i am giving you an example of the code i am using. I would like your opinion whether those functions are running parallel or serial. If they are not running parallel what should i do? Any opinion or something that can help me would be perfect. Thanks in advance.

//code here also :)What you appear to be doing here is creating an array of Thread references (which I hope at some point gets populated with actual Thread object references!)......because your first loop is wanting to cycle through each array slot starting the referenced Thread. Then the next loop iterates through the array again, this time calling the method for each Thread object.
Assuming that you do populate the array, what this code will do is start each Thread which, I believe, will start and immediately terminate because run() has not been over-ridden. The second loop winds up calling the method for each Thread in the array. You are actually calling it from the main thread though. So, as previously advised, I think that you will run each method sequentially.
The direction that I would head with this is to override run() in your agent Thread and have that run() method call the MiniConflicts() method. Then, in your main routine you can do away with the second for loop. The looping start will start all of the individual threads and they will execute the run() method......which in essence will be executing your MiniConflicts method.
This reply is NOT a total design... I am sure that there are holes to be filled... but I think that will get you headed in the right direction. -
FRM: 10270 Cannot attach the library when two forms run at the same time
I get the error message FRM: 10270 Cannot attach the library SYSLIB while opening menu BMENU but only when i try to open a second form while the first form is still running.
Both forms are working fine as long as they ar not running at the same time.
It seems like the second form opening does not have access to the FORMS60_PATH, because you can not open a third form because it can't find it.
All the forms anf libraries (plx)is in the FORMS60_PATH.
I am running developer_6i forms & reports on a HPUX 11i machine and I am trying to access them through jinitiator 1.3.1.9 on a XP machine.

Two Telnet read VI's running at the same time interfere with each other
I have a situation where multiple tests must test multiple UUT’s on the same computer. To send commands to and get responses from the UUT's I use a telnet session. The telnet read VI uses a semaphore. Therefore when two separate top level VI's are running, each calling the Telnet read VI, if one Top Level VI is using the Telnet Read VI the other Top Level VI waits for the first one to complete before it can use the Telnet Read VI. This VI is setup for reentrant execution but because of the semaphore it cannot truly be used as a reentrant function. This causes severe problems when trying to communicate with two different telnet sessions simultaneously.
In the past I have avoided this problem by compiling everything into an executable. Then each Top Level program runs completely independently with no interdependences. However, now I am implementing Teststand and I need to call the same Top Level VI's. I need to be able to get information into them and back out of them from Teststand. This means that I can no longer compile them into stand alone executables. I did compile each top level VI into its own Share DLL thinking that then each top level program would have its own library to call upon. This did not work. Even though both top level programs are compiled into their own DLL there is still interdependency when calling the telnet read VI. One program waits for the other to finish reading from its telnet connection before it can read from its own telnet connection. Since I have to continuously read from the telnet connection, sometimes for up to half and hour, the tests do not function simultaneously. How can I get around this? Is there a solution?

PS The Telnet Read VI I am refering to came with the Internet Toolset package. Attached is a copy of the VI I use to communicat with the UUT's.

The file I attached is in the hierarchy of two separate top-level VI's. The telnet connect is opened once and closed once in each top-level program. The ref number is then passed into and out of the VI that I attached. I use this VI to repeatedly send commands via telnet and wait for the appropriate responses. The telnet read VI is given a read line separator and reads from the telnet connection until it matches the read line separator with a text string read back from the telnet connection. If not match is found it times out and creates an error.
I am not sure how to provide an example of the overall scheme since the problem occurs when both top level VI's are compiled each into their own shared DLLs. Those DLLs are then call from Teststand and at some points they are both running at the same time on the same computer connected to two different UUT's.
The question I have is why does one DLL share functions with the other? When one DLL is using the telnet read VI the other DLL waits for the first one to finish with it before it can it use the telnet read VI. If they were both compiled separately each into their own DLL shouldn't they each have their own set of functions to call upon instead of having to share? I know that if the two top-level VI's are not compiled they cannot both execute the same sub-VI at the same time. The only way to get around this is to set the execution property on the sub-VI to reentrant.
I actually fixed the problem by setting the VI I attached and the Telnet Buffered Read.VI (called by Telnet Read.vi) execution properties to reentrant. However, I am still concerned about two separate DLLs sharing sub-VIs. Why does it do this?

2 files running at the same time for adquiring data from different ways
I want to adquire from a serial port( using VISA) and from a DAQ at the same time. I want data form both devices at the same time.
My program is a while loop reading continuously from both devices until I stop the while loop with a control.
I have noticed that I don't receive right data when I read from both devices in the same program.
So, I have tried to run 2 different programs, one for Visa adquisition and another for DAQ adquisition, at the same time. At this way i receive data ok.
So, i want to know how can i do execute 2 different .vi files at the same time and how can i get data from the another one.
Please, help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I don't know what to do!

you can insert two seperate while loops in parallel into one VI. Please
take a look into the template browser and the example finder of LV for
some examples. You can find the template browser by selecting "new"
(not new vi!) in the file-menu. The example finder is located in the
help-menu.
