Getting password

Is there a way to "see" a password for an account without resetting the password? I have root access and/or admin access, but I don't want to reset the password.

I'd really to resolve this without uninstalling thunderbird, I use thunderbird heavily for my job and thus everything is set up, filed, and organized the way I need it.
    I've tried restarting thunderbird, restarting my computer (Mac, OSX Yosemite if that matters) and none of these things are working.
    Thunderbird has worked flawlessly for the past two years up until now. No updates were installed that I know of. My password is good, I'm able to type it in on our webmail client (atmail) and log in without issue.

    Go to Preferences -> Security -> Passwords -> Saved Passwords... and remove the entries for the account. Restart TB. It should ask you for your new password.
    If that doesn't fix it, we need to look at your settings.

    VERY hard to help you unless you tell us what your "new password software" is. There are a lot of possibilities. And you also may be better served going to the specific forums for that software (1Password, Lastpass, or whatever).

    <b>If all the users are locked, they can be unlocked by</b>
    a)Try this command at ur sql plus query level
    Go to cmd prompt.
    Sqlplus /nolog
    conn /as sysdba
    this will take you to the sqlprompt.
    Just execute the earlier commands there.
    sqlplus><b>UPDATE SAP<schema>.usr02 set uflag=0 where mandt=<CLNT NO> and uflag=64;</b> this statement actually unlocks the users of that particular client. So, try for every client in that sap system.
    b) You can delete sap* user
    Go to cmd prompt.
    Sqlplus /nolog
    conn /as sysdba
    sqlplus><b>DELETE SAP<SID>.usr02 where mandt='CLIENT.NO' and bname=SAP*;</b>
    <b>Note:-
    After doing this restart the system. So, that a new user with the name "sap" gets generated with password "pass". Provided the parameter is set login/no_automatic_user_sapstar= 0 (Automatic user SAP is permitted).</b>

    I was having a similar problem before I realised that the reset password page was for US iTunes Store rather than the Australian one (the one I actually use). Changed it by clicking on the little flag in the bottom right hand corner and it suddenly stopped giving me the timed out message. Hope this helps.

    1. Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage (try any webpage). If you can load a webpage, then your device has Internet access. If you are unable to load a webpage,follow these troubleshooting steps.
              - Try to use an alternate Internet connection if available:
                        1. Try a different Wi-Fi connection
                        2. If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, tap Settings > Wi-Fiand turn off Wi-Fi.
                        3. If the affected email account is provided by your Internet provider, see if your issue is resolved while connected to your home Wi-Fi network.*
    2. Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
    3. Restart your iOS device.
    4. Delete the affected email account from your device.

              - Choose the affected email account, then tap Delete Account.
              - Add your account again.

Then I get message The MobileMe server "mail.me.com" is not responding.  Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "Incoming Mail Server" field.  What can be done to correct password issue?

    Make sure you have a network connection.  Are you connected to the internet or cellular network

    Hi,
    some (around 20) of my 3000 outlook 2010 users are getting Password Promts while using outlook.
    This started end of last week without any change to the environment.
    The prompt goes away if we unmount and remount additional mailboxes they have mounted.
    Any idea what could be causing this or where to start debugging?
    Backend is Exchange 2013 and 2007 in migration.

    How did you mount additional mailboxes? Via File > Account Settings > Account Settings > Double-click the Exchange account > More Settings > Advanced tab > Add?
    Are the additional mailboxes hosted on the same version of Exchange server with thoese mailboxes with the password prompting issue? If this is the case, this issue often happens if you have a hybrid deployment of Exchange Server. To resolve the issue,

    When I open my apple mail I keep getting password incorrect but it is correct !
    I have tried deleting the account and then adding it again which worked last time !
    I have changed the password on googlemail settings etc but still get the same messages.
    The same messages are appearing on my ipad and iphone mail all runing on the latest ios etc
    how can i resolve this issue ?

    I had given up trying to sort out my Apple mail / Gmail problem after contacting apple care and Gmail webbsite.
    Thought I would try deleting the account and then re installing it as I had donee many times in the past three days.
    This time it just installed the Gmail account no problems !!!! Its all working fine now.
    For how long, who knows ?

    What happened to your phone that you are trying to restore to a backup that is encrypted? If you have your contacts in iCloud, you can just turn iCloud back on when you get the phone working, if it isn't, and that will bring your contacts back. You won't need to do a restore from an iCloud backup if you were not doing an iCloud backup anyway. If you log into www.icloud.com and look at contacts, what do you see there?
