how do I get photos off iPhone to my computer?

    What photos?
    Camera Roll?
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
    Photo library?
The sync is one way - computer to iphone.

  • How to get photos off iPhone

I have an iphone 4s and I have some photos that will not come off the phone.  I have tried to get them off with iExplorer, Aperture, iPhoto, Image Capture and Graphic Converter and none of these programs will recognize the pictures.  The strange thing is that of 154 photos on the camera roll 50 are recognized but 104 are not.  I can get the file number to appear but no picture will come up.  I can't even mail the picture but it will show up on camera roll only on the iPhone.  This has to be a bug in the operating system.  Many people are having the same problem so Apple has to be aware.  Another reason to look at other phones.

  • "MyComputer" will not recognize iPhone. Can not get photos off iPhone.

I can not get the iPhone to pop-up in the "My Computer" window as a camera or device. Adobe Photoshop Album nor any other program will see iPhone as a device. So, I cannot access and down load the photos I have taken with my iPhone. I have tried unpluging and replugging the USB cable and all I get is a bing-bong sound. I'm also one of those that can not sync with Outlook 2003. I don't know if the problems are related, but I'm sure waisting alot of time trying to get this thing working the way I hoped it would. Any ideas?
    Dell   Windows XP

I have a Mac with iPhoto and it "just works".
Here is how it works on the Mac. Plug in iPhone. iPhoto opens and offers to download photos from iPhone to Mac. Asks whether you want photos deleted off the camera. Lets you name the roll. Asks if you want to download duplicates.
Then iTunes takes over and does a sync.
I know you don't have a Mac, but my best advice would be...have Adobe Photoshop and iTunes both open, and do a sync.

  • Getting Photos off iPhone (those not taken w/ iPhone Camera)

Does anyone know a way to remove photos on an iPhone? I'm talking about photos NOT taken w/ the iPhone camera, but those in iPhoto albums I put on the phone from my laptop (conacts, other iphoto stuff)
My harddrive crashed and there are several albums that I lost on the laptop, but I have them on the phone. I can't seem to get them off the phone using iPhoto or Image Capture. The only list iPhone sees is those photos taken with it's own camera.
    Thanks
    David

    I'll check it out thanks.
Easiest way I found is e-mailing the photos back to my computer (one at a time-sheesh!) and then re-importing them into iPhoto.
YEah- they're not the same high quality as the originals, but better than having them gone forever!
    Thanks for the help.

  • Can not get photos off iPhone on Mac or PC after updating to 1.1.1

I have a windows XP machine and it doesn't see the iPhone in the 'My Computer' directory (as mentioned in a similar post) so there is no way to download pictures.
When connected to my G4 Mac (running OS X 10.2.8), the iPhone does not show up but it is recognized by two of my photo apps; Image Capture and iPhoto. Both applications see the iPhone as a camera. Image Capture shows 0 (zero) items available to download. iPhoto shows 'Apple iPhone - Contains no photos'.
I have 189 pictures on the iPhone's 'Camera Roll' that I took with the iPhone (in addition to the folders I sync with via iTunes). iTunes obviously does not sync with the iPhone's 'Camera Roll'. How do I get to these pictures off the phone? Please help.
    Thanks.

There is definitely something wrong, but I couldn't tell you if it's your phone or your computer. I'm on 1.1.1 too and my phone still appears as a device in XP and behaves as it always has.
I can't recommend doing something Apple doesn't want you to do, *but if you are willing (as a last resort)* there is a way to access the file system directly and download the photo files in a way that is similar to how you would from an FTP site with FTP software.
It would require you to go to the site that puts installer on your phone. Once that is done install "open ssh" (to be able to connect to your phone and install "services" (to disable and re-enable ssh as needed for security purposes). Then use a program like winscp (works like other ftp programs but allows different types of connections - in this case an scp connection) to connect to your phone. The camera role is located in: \var\root\media\DCIM\100APPLE\. From there you can copy them to any location on your PC.
If you phone is showing up as empty when you connect it to your computer then there might be something wrong with the area the photos are stored in, or maybe it's too full. I don't know what the limit is or if there is a limit. Just bouncing around some ideas.

  • Can no longer get photos off iPhone

For months, whenever I put my iPhone into its cradle to recharge/sync, if there were any photos in its "Camera Roll," iPhoto automatically launched, identified/connected to the iPhone, indicated how many photos were available, and offered to download them.
Suddenly, that all stopped. iPhoto no longer automatically launches when I connect the iPhone. (I've checked the Image Capture application, and it's still set to launch iPhoto when it detects a camera.) When I manually launch iPhoto, it recognizes the presence of the iPhone, but says "There are no items to import," even though there are new photos in the Camera Roll.
I don't know what changed — whether the new iPhone or iTunes software caused a problem, or it's something else. I haven't changed anything in my setup, or how things are connected.
    (1) Is there any way I can pull the photos from the iPhone onto my Mac? Some application, whether iPhoto or another, that can "see" and "extract" or "import" the photos from the phone? The only thing I know to do now is to e-mail them to myself from the phone, which works, but is clumsy and salvages only 25% of the initial resolution of the photos.
    (2) Ideally, I'd like iPhoto to resume behaving like it did before, recognizing the iPhone and the presence of its photos. Anything I can do to assist in that process? I've spent hours searching the Apple support library without finding anything that sounds like this. (The only item there talks about the need to first unlock a password-protected iPhone, but mine isn't password-protected.)
    Thank you...

I'd try to reset the phone a couple ways first to see if there is a phone glitch.
hold both buttons 10 seconds until you get the apple to force a restart
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't do it see if /Applications/Image Capture can see them
Outside of that try to import photos from a different computer and see if it has the same issue. If you can do it I would delete them and put them on a flash drive then bring it back and try it with a single new test picture.
Make sure you Apple > Software Update is up to date and iPhone software is 2.1
You may be looking at a restore situation so I'd File > transfer Purchases and otherwise back up your information.

  • How to get photos off my Windows 7 PC to my iPhone and iPad Mini?

How do I get photos off of my Windows 7 PC to my iPhone 4S and iPad Mini automatically through iCloud?

On a Windows PC the easiest way to get pictures from your iPhone is to just use Windows Explorer.
    1) Plugin your iPhone to your PC
    2) Open “My Computer”
    3) Find your iPhone, it will appear as any other camera would
    4) Open iPhone to find your Photos
    5) Select the pictures you want to copy to your computer and copy/ paste them into the desired location on your PC.

  • I need to get photos off a water damaged iPhone 3GS. Can I take out the component that has the photos (is this the main board?) and put it into another of the same phone to retrieve the photos? Please help

I need to get photos off a water damaged iPhone 3GS. It spent time underwater, saltwater. I let it dry for a week, turned it on, the apple symbol came on, then it died. I need to retrieve my photos off it. Can I take out the component that has the photos (is this the main board?) and put it into another of the same phone to retrieve the photos? Please help

You're talking about the logic board. The two most likely things to get toasted, with water damage, are the battery(it shorts out), & the logic board. The worst water damage would be salt water. I'm afraid your logic board is toast.

  • HT201317 How do I get photos off my iphone to print?

How do I get photos off my iphone to print?  I have over 1000 photos.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you have a computer, connect the phone with a USB cable and import the photos in the same way you would import them from a camera.

  • I have deleted all my photos off iPhone but can still view them on appletv . How do I get them back on my phone?

I have deleted all my photos off iPhone but can still view them on appletv . How do I get them back on my phone?

If you have deleted all the photos from your iPhone you can't get them back.  The only place they might exist is if you backed them up to iPhoto if you have a Mac.  If you have iCloud and Photo Steam enabled, then the last 100 photos would be saved in your Photo Stream.

  • Get photos off an iPad without a PC

    Hello all
Firstly, sorry if this has already been talked about on the forums
I did search for an answer to my question but to no avail
If there are threads already discussing this, can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
    My question -
How the heck do you get photos OFF an iPad (mine is iPad 2) without a computer?
Mac/PC doesn't matter, irrelevant to the question
The reason I ask is because I'm a photographer and I'd like to use my iPad out in the field
I've found it to be a super-cool device to show clients portfolio work
But I'd also like to start using it to do basic post-work and editing on-the-job
For the editing part, there are heaps of apps in the app store that are just great
But once I'm done, I'd love to be able to give a digital copy of the photos to the client before I leave
    Any ideas?
I'm very happy with the iPad as a professional tool for this industry
And even if what I'm asking can't be done, I'll still keep using it
Just wondering if there's any ideas I haven't come across yet
    Many thanks!

yes, soon after I posted, I went into the photo gallery to have a play
found that if you click the share button you can select multiple and email them, indeed to yourself
or in my case, to the client
    here's my thinking...
for jobs where a really special emotional response is needed, i'm better off going home and packaging a dvd and posting to the client, such is the case for weddings etc
for time-critical jobs, like insurance and particularly real estate, emailing to the client would be perfect
one question though - when emailing, are the photos sent at their original quality?

  • How to get photos off iPad 1st gen

Anyone know a way I can get photos off an iPad 1st Gen? It is not recognized by iPhoto 9 that is currently running on Mavericks.
This should have been synced a long time ago but my wife never did and now has photos on it that she wants.... I know, I know....
    Tried:
    - Using Image Capture - does not see it
    - When I launch iPhoto, it says "Loading" and never does anything.
    - iTunes does see it but that doesn't help to get photos off of it.
    - Saw a program that let's you transfer files off but it cost $30 and thought there might be a way to do ift for free.
    Thanks, Jeff

The iOS version has nothing to do with importing photos.
Where are the photos located? iPhoto will only get photos that were saved to the iPad like saved from an email attachment. Those are in the Saved photos album
If the photos are in another album they were synced to the iPad. To get those you need a third-party program like PhoneView or TouchCopy

  • Getting photos off of iPod Touch

How can I get photos off of my iPod Touch and onto my computer ?

Presumably, these are photos you've taken "on the Touch" with the screenshot facility, either the iPod one or one built into an App, is that correct? If so, then when you connect the Touch to iTunes a window should appear notifying you of "photos on the Touch which are not in your library". I can't be more precise about this since I'm a Windows user, but I guess it'll be iPhoto or an additional iTunes window that pops up.
Anyway, when that window appears, there should options for removing them from the Touch and putting them into your photo library.
    Have you tried that?
    Phil
