Getting Photoshop CS3 on my new computer

Is it possible to download a copy of CS3 to my new computer?

Hi kejj5564,
Welcome to Adobe Forum,
You can try installing it if is compatible with your new computer
http://www.adobe.com/store/en_us/popup/software/creativesuite/mastercollection/systemreqs. html
You should have the installer as well as the serial number.
The best option would be to upgrade to Creative Cloud, check for the options here

How can I transfer Photoshop CS3 to my new computer. I cannot find the original documentation with serial number etc

For downloads of CS3 see THIS thread.
    For your serial number, if Photoshop is still running on your old machine;
Start Photoshop. Goto Help > System Info. Buried in amongst all the stuff in there will be your serial number. Read through it carefully.
If Photoshop is not installed / running on your old machine, then you are indeed pretty much hosed.
This is always assuming software that old will run successfully on a new machine, of course.

  • Trouble installing Photoshop CS3 on a new computer with Windows 8.1

I tried to install it but strange things happened. It shows up on the install/uninstall list but not on the desktop or My PC. I found CS3 on my new computer by accident when I called up an unrelated file. The computer wants me to take CS3 on a 30 day trial, which I don't need. When trying to upgrade my CS3 the computer does not let me indicate I am upgrading from CS3, only C or C2. Please advise. David Hayward.

Divad I would recommend removing the current installation and reinstalling.  You can download a fresh copy of the installation files at Download CS3 products.

  • Help installing Photoshop CS3 on a new computer

I contacted Adobe online customer support on 11/16/09 because Photoshop CS3 would not run on my new laptop (HP  with Vista Premium Home Edition 64bit).  Adobe responded 6 - 7 days later with info that I had already tried or which did not work.  With little or no success and FEW responses form Adobe, I finally tried the 1-800 phone line for customer service.  After two days on the phone, three separate calls and over 7 hours of phone time, I am actually worse off than I was before.  Additionally, SEVERAL of the things that the various techs told me to do directly contradicted the previous tech's instructions OR turned out to be incorrect.
Here's the problem: Initially, the program was on a Compaq laptop (XP w/32 bit operating system).  This worked fine, but the computer died.  When I reinstalled the program on the new system, it installed successfully, but will not run.  After the two days online with tech support, now the program will not successfully complete installation.  Adobe has hung up on me (mysteriously disconnected) twice and refused to give me access to a supervisor three different times.  Does anyone have a direct access phone or email of someone I can reach directly?  I don't know where to turn next.

Try tunning the software as admin. Right click on the icon, choose properties, compatibility then check run as admin.
Not sure if you did this:
You also have to install the software as admin. But when you insert the disk just let it run and if something pops up on the screen close out of it. Instead go to computer, look for the drive that has the DVD in it. Right click on it and you want to open or explore (not sure what is shown). But choose one of those and then look for the .exe file that will install the software. Right click on that and choose to run as Admin.
So if you can open the software after running as admin and everything is fine your good to go. If you can open the softeware but the install is borked you need to reinstall. If you can deactive the software if it is not acting right (save you from calling in)
If you deinstall you need to run the Clean script at level 3 (at the most)
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
Run the microsoft clean up utility
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Do you have vista SP2? if not download the windows 4.5 installer. SP2 has it.
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5a58b56f-60b6-4412-95b9-54d056d6f 9f4&displaylang=en
after all that fun stuff go to msconfig and ensure there are no other adobe products that are checked to run on start up.
Reboot and I would defrag too.
Turn off windows defender and any anti virus.
Insert disk but don't load from there. Go to your computer and run it from there. you want to open or explore, then look for the .exe file and right click on that and run as admin.
Once it is running put the serial number in. also you don't want to do a full install. Just try doing Bridge and CS3. Sometimes the software is older on the disk and has problems with vista too.
With Vista expect the software to hang around 90 percent? I know this happens with CS4.
When the install is finished, reboot.
After reboot, right click on CS3, choose properties, compatibility tab and check run as Admin.
If the software does not like windows AERO then you can go back later and select disable visual themes on the compatibility tab.
When you run CS3 make sure you update the product.
don't forget to update the video card drivers from the ATI or Nvidia site if need be.

  • Installing Photoshop CS3 on a new computer.

I am about to buy a new PC (old one too slow for Photoshop CS3). As I have already installed CS3 on my old computer, will I have any problem installing it from the same CD on to my new machine? (As CS3 cost more than the computer, I obviously don't want to have to buy a fresh copy)

deactivate the old copy (in the help menu) before installing the new one.

I'm trying to install Adobe Photoshop CS3 on a new ASUS ASM11BB001O computer equipped with 64-bit Windows 7.  I use a "bundle" approach, first loading Photoshop 6, then upgrading with CS upgrade and then CS3 upgrade.  The installation goes smoothly until I add PS CS, and then it balks at the "accept" Adobe conditions screen.  I have two other (Gateway) computers with Windows 7, 64-bit, on both of which the PS-6, CS-CS3 pathway worked fine.  Any thoughts on how to get this working?  Thanks

If your goal is to install and activate CS5 there is no need to install anything preceding it.  You will only need to have the serial number from the preceding version that you upgrade from (CS3 I guess).

Hi, I need to activate my Adobe CS3 on a new computer because my old one died and I'm having difficulty. Tried the normal registration way and then logged in with my Adobe ID and can see the software and activation code already registered. How to get it on my computer registered?

If your two activation are in use you need to call Adobe. Install CS3 to to point of activation and call Adobe at that point.  They have help me in cases like your My Disk crashed and I replaced it. Could not deactivate the crash activation.  I done that twice over the years I've been using  PS for around 20 years

That's a browser error. Nothing to do with Adobe software.

  • Can't Get CS5 to work on new computer?

Old computer crashed and shop installed Photoshop CS 5 on new computer but only Bridge will work.  When I click on CS 5 icon I get  the message 'Some Application Components are missing from the Applications directory.  Please reinstall the application.'  Tried to use software to install but get indication the Serial Number is invalid.  Chatted with Adobe but they no longer handle S/N problems.  Since I am retired and only use CS5 for my personal use infrequently, the move to CS6 is not an option.  I just want to get my copy to work.  I did search the statement 'Some Application Component...application' but the solution started out 'Use Finder (what is that?) to go to Photoshop CS5://Application/Adobe Photoshop CS5' and that lost me.  There has to be a better way to fix this.  Any suggestions?

Thanks.  Yesterday my frustration level was high after a chat with Abobe revealed that they no longer support serial number issues.  As I lay awake last night I remembered that I had omitted information and probably had a way to solve my problem.  First, my computer is a Windows 7 device I had built specifically for photo and film editing.  Since I'm retired I got interested in Photoshop and started with CS 2, the Student edition.  I took local school classes that taught using CS3 so I upgraded to CS3 a month before CS4 came out, and took another class.  While everything I do is for personal use, I enjoyed the product and so when CS4 came out, I upgraded to it in 2010.  I have the books for all versions, including some of Kelby's.  So last night I realized that my CS4 and 5 versions are upgrades.  This morning I found my copies of CS2, CS3 and CS4 software and thought one of those may have the Application that my CS5 is missing.  What kept me awake was the quandry of either load the previous versions on my new computer without removing CS5, or remove CS5 and then start loadin CS2 or start with CS3 and then continue to load the following versions.  The computer that crashed was new in 2008, and my records indicate I had CS2 loaded on it  and removed it in 2009.  CS3 was removed in 2010 and that was when I got CS5.  Right now it appears that both CS4 and CS5 are on the new computer.  Part of my concern about deleting CS4 and CS5 and starting anew with CS2 is the number of times each version had been loaded.  Has the limit been exceeded?.  Also, currently CS5 Bridge is working.  Could I cause a problem if I delete CS4 and CS5 with Bridge?  Checking the software for each version I know they are all the student version, which is what I started with, but I can't tell if CS3 is a full student version or an upgrade.
Now I need help.  Delete CS4 and CS5 and start over, or load CS2 and CS3 without removing those 2 and see if I have a serial number problem.  Glad I didn't upgrade to Windows 8 on the new computer!  It could be worse. Thanks

  • Cannot install CS3 on my new computer

hi, i cannot install CS3 on my new computer due to the fact that i did not deactivate is on my old laptop. to which i dont have acces any more.. can anyone help finding a solution?

Have you tried installing it or are you just assuming you cannot.  You are normally allowed to install and activate on two machines.
You will need to contact Adobe support thru chat in order to get assistance with deactivating the inaccessible installation.  For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

    Hello:
I hope this message finds you well.  Our company is replacing all of the workstations and I need to install my copy of CS3 on my new computer.  The original installation was a download so I do not have installation discs.  Are there any instructions available on how to do this?
