Getting pictures out of movies?
hi, I know how to extract a frame from a movie and play it as a clip, but is it possible to extract a frame and save it as a picture on my hard drive? And then maybe put it in iDVD as a background?
thanks,
dan
Well worthwhile for an iDVD backdrop.
I like to use PowerPoint to create disc covers for the final DVD library case. I found an iMovie still does not really come up to the standard but I printed a collage of 6 captured stills for one cover and it looked really good keeping them smaller.

how do i get pictures from iphoto to print ( at cvs)
I do some printing at Walgreeens from Aperture.
Walgreens has a web site you go to and download your images to and then select the prints you want and the store you're going to pick them up at. I believe CVS has something similar. (They do CVS Photo)
If so you can access the iPhoto library from Safari when you are on the CVS site and select and download your images.

TS3354 I cant get picture from downloaded movies but i get sound please advise
I cant get a picture from my downloaded movies in itunes
I'd say it +should be+ something they are not surprised to hear about, but I've read posts on the forums where Apple tech claimed to "never have seen a problem like this before" for issues with MBP batteries - and this was after the 1.2 update release where Apple formally acknowledged battery problems.
So, don't be surprised if the support tech claims to be. But they will certainly have no trouble fixing it. If you're close to an Apple Store, make a Genius Bar appointment and they'll fix you up. Or call AppleCare and they'll arrange for you to ship it in. -
Get pictures out of View My Message
I know there's a way to do this, because they just show up in a small box and you can't save them regularly. How do you get around it?
No way around it (as of yet) if your trying to do it on your iphone. If you are that determined to save the picture you can open viewmymessage.com on your PC and open the picture there. You can't right click the picture to save it for I DONT KNOW what reason because that makes no sense, however you can just push the "Print Scrn/Sys RQ button" (to the right of F12 key for PC users)then open up "Paint" and click "Edit and then Paste."
What you will have will be a screen shot of your whole screen. Crop and adjust your (tiny) photo accordingly. Yeah, I know it ***** but thats one way to do it.

HT201302 how to get pictures out of a phone that is disabled?
my iphone is disabled and i need to get the pictures on to my computer but i cant even connect it to itunes..
Sorry you can't with a diabled phone.
You should be backing up on a regular basis http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766 and importing your pics to your computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 as you would a digital camera, not when a problem occurs. -
Cant get pictures out of thumbnail size
I can only view my photos thumbnail sized. I can't see them in slideshows or by clicking them. I've tried resetting it a million times.
Please helpHi just had exactly the same problem with mine.
Reset made no difference so had to do a factory restore (complete erase and start from scratch).
Hasn't failed yet since reload but i only did it yesterday.
Fingers crossed as if it happens again it's back to the apple store..... -
Since I upgraded my Ipad2 to IOS6, I keep getting kicked out of Safari after I am in the middle of searching for something. Also, Ebay kicks me back to first item if I click on an item, say number 153 or 642! Very annoying. Even CNN kicked me out back to Ipad home screen last night! How do I make it stop???
My question is this:
What is the best way of getting the pictures out of the iPhoto Library? I
Select the photos you want out and export them as JPGEs - kind = current for the current edited version - kind = original for the original
f I get access to the original folders within the library by right-clicking any photo and then being able to browse inside the library, am I going to have any problems if I copy or move those original pictures directly to a folder outside of the iPhoto Library?
Copying photos out will not be a problem if you make no errors - for me that is not a good bet - it is best to stay out of yoru iPhoto library
Would it be better to export the pictures?
Yes
Does exporting using "current" under "Kind" give you the original more safely?
No - it gives you the current version which may be the original if no changes have been made or will be the current edited version if edits ahve been made
Also, any suggestions on how to best have photos OUTSIDE of an iPhoto library organized so that iPhoto can reference them, but your backup is also organized?
In the iPhoto preferences un check the advanced preference to "copy imported items to the iPhoto library"
HOWEVER - this is not recommended - it makes importing more complicated, deleting more complicated and makes replacing a hard drive or going to a new computer much more difficult - and it puts you totally in charge of your original photos - being sure that they are there and do not get moved
I'd like to have my photos organized by date in the backup as well, so that I don't have to backup all my pictures every time I add new ones, just add the latest to the backup drive.
Finally, any suggestions on what to do with pictures that you scan so that they appear by the date they were taken as opposed to the date they were scanned? Is there a way to modify the date of the photo info?
Select the photos in iPhoto and use the batch change command under the photos menu - the tiem and date option

Need to convert music videos that are tagged as "Movies" and re-rag them as "Music Videos" to get them out of my movies library and into the Music Video folder. Likewise, I have some educational videos that belong in "Podcasts." Help?
Select/highlight the ones that you want to change in your iTunes library, do Get-Info (control-I) and change their Media Kind on their Options tab to 'Music Video' - and then similarly for the podcasts.

0 B Page-outsYour problem is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory.
That can happen for two reasons:
(1) You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
(2) You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination. In Activity Monitor, select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table once or twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. Repeat with the Virtual Mem column. If one process (not including "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more memory over time without ever releasing it.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously. -
New computer - want to move library - insert blank disc - gets popped out
I bought a new computer and want to move my library. I followed the Apple instructions and put my blank Office Depot CD-R 52x 700MB disc in the drive and it gets popped out and the message is "insert disc". My drive is listed in the available burning drives. Anybody have any ideas?

How do I get the pictures out of my iPhone 4s and save it into my PC?
Hello i-am-big-david,
On a PC (Window 7) the iPhone shows as a digital camera in Windows Explorer under the computer section. You can import the photos from there. Sorry I'm not familiar with Windows 8, yet.

Light room five keeps crashing my computer, uninstalled it downloaded a fresh copy it works fine. How do I get my pictures out of the old copy to the new one?
Apparently you have two catalogs now, one from each installation. If you did importing, tagging and editing during the first installation, that will all be in the first catalog. Find the first catalog - it is a file with the suffix .lrcat and the default place for LR to put it is usually your Pictures folder - and (with LR closed) double-click on it. LR will launch with catalog #1 active.

I'm trying to publish a short movie to youtube. It plays fine in the editing screen, but when I publish it, half way through, the sound cuts out on the video. There's still some background music that's playing, but the voices get cut out. I've tried republishing it in a different size and the sound cuts out at the exact same place. Any suggestions?
You can contact support and have them troubleshoot the songs for you.
