Getting pixelation when I add a camera layer to my imported .mov.  Even more pixelation when rendere

I've created a composition with animation in After Effects.  Because of the complexity of the composition and its many layers, adding a 3D camera layer to it spawned a whole lot of issues with the wipe effects I had on the pre-existing layers and movement of my layers.  So I rendered the composition without the camera layer, nested the .mov into a new comp and added a camera layer.  The animation works great but I'm getting a lot of pixelation.  Highest HD settings, full resolution, preserving quality of layers when nesting and not sure what's happening.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Ok, so here is a screenshot of the original composition.  There is no camera layer added here and as you can see the resolution is very clear with little or no pixelation.
Next, is a screenshot of the above composition, after it has been rendered and imported as a .mov in the second composition.  Here is where I added the camera layer.  The reason I did this is because when I added the camera layer to the first composition (pre-render) my layers would move or resize and my initial animations with the doors opening would be thrown off and my wipes wouldn't work correctly.  It became so time consuming to do it this way and have to go back and adjust everything, so I decided to go the quicker route and export then nest the .mov and then add the camera layer. As you can see it becomes more pixelated and as Andrew says "soft" around the edges.
Here is a screenshot from the above rendered comp's .mov file.  In the .move it seems even more pixelated and the color is not as sharp either.  It looks faded.  While it's not too bad, it differs from the rest of the composition I have it combined with in my final composition, so it stands out.  This section is my most complication and it should stand out in a good way, and we don't want the quality to distract the viewer from message and fun animation.
So if Andrew is correct, then do I have to go back and add the camera layer to the original composition and if so, is there a way to do so that won't alter the layers and animations?

iTunes does not actively scan the media folders.  If you manually add content to a folder, then you must add that content to iTunes manually via the File > Add File/Folder feature.
The only folder that gets scanned is the "Automatically add to iTunes" folder.

    4) When my computer crashes, once it starts again, it says "repairing" ... but I am not familiar with reparing permissions -- can you explain how I might do that?
If you are running OS X Lion, then you can restart your computer and then press and hold the 'Option' key immediately after you hear the start up 'gong' (usually heard when grey screen shows as it restarts).
You should see at least two Disks to choose from. Choose 'Recovery Disk' and wait for it to load, then choose 'Disk Utility' option in the Utilities dialog.
Once Disk Utility loads, do the following:
1 - In the left hand pane, choose your system partition (usually called either 'Macintosh HD' or 'Macintosh SSD'). Note - don't choose the actual hard drive listed above the partition when using Disk Utility in OS X Lion as this doesn't offer options for repairing due to it including the Recovery Disk you have loaded in memory.
2 - Click the 'First Aid' tab
3 - Click the 'Repair Disk Permissions' button in lower portion of main pane and allow to complete. Ideally, you will get a final message in main pane saying Disk Permissions are repaired.
4 - At lower right of same pane, click the 'Repair Disk' button and allow to complete. Ideally, you will get a final message indicating that Disk Repair is completed and all appears to be good.
5 - Quit Disk Utility > Close Utilities dialog window > Click 'Restart' button (confirm as needed).
You should boot straight into the system partition when complete.
Note - any red text in the main pane text while running the repairs will be issues and you will need to follow the advice given or post back.
If you are running Snow Leopard; then (as David mentions) boot from your first OS X reinstall disc and run the Disk Utility the same way; except you select the actual hard drive listed at top of left pane (not the partition below it). This is because Snow Leopard does not use a 'Recovery Disk' partition and repairs can be run on the HD or SSD itself.
    Hope that helps.

  • When I add my composition to the Adobe Media Encoder from After Effects, it renders out incorrectly?

Why is it that when I add my composition directly from after effects to the adobe media encoder, it renders out of the adobe media encoder incorrectly? By that I mean the video comes out a little scrambled- parts of it overlap other parts. Is this an issue with 'dynamic link'? Did I do something wrong? I'm working in CC.

I also don't understand what you are saying. What do you mean by "parts of it overlap other parts"? A screen shot might help.
What were your render settings in AME? (Format, Codec, data rate, etc.)
What is in your AE comp? If footage, tell us what format, codec, etc. Tell us what effects were used too.

I have just encountered a similar problem, and moving the files back onto my iPod isn't even an option since I don't have the files on my PC (why would I need them on both?) For me, the videos show up...but they're in the wrong folder!! All my videos are in the "music" folder, along with my songs. Seriously.
It's so frustrating. When I first saw the issue, I thought it would be a quick fix: I'd just hook up my iPod to my computer and drag the files form "music" to "movies," right? Right. Here I am, 6 hours later, and getting nowhere. Everything is automatic nowadays, so it's impossible to fix anything manually when something goes wrong. As I said, so frustrating.
The little TV icon randomly no longer appears next to my movies, and they all appear in the MUSIC folder of my iPod. This is a HUGE pain in the *** because when I click on "shuffle songs," I get the movies thrown into the playlist! I don't want to listen to movie dialogue while I drive...
ITunes is up to date and my iPod is up to date. Restoring is not an option because I don't have the files on my computer. Clicking on "get info" brings up the same menus I get when I "get info" a music file. There is no "video" tab.
I'm just so frustrated. Why the **** can't I just drag the files into the correct directory? God, I hate iTunes. In making all the everyday stuff so simple, they've made the exceptional stuff exceedingly difficult

  • When I add songs to my iPod, they go on there. But when I disconnect my iPod from the computer and plug it back in the songs never stay on there. How can I fix this?

Just recently I've noticed my apps wasn't working, they would just blink and then exit out. So I searched on here to find out what I should do, and I seen that someone said to restore the iPod. I did just so, but before I did I made sure I backed it up so I still had my files. But when I plugged it in there was no option of restoring from backup. I didn't know why, but I just added all of my old songs from before. However, when I unplug it (after my songs have been added) and plug it back in.. My songs aren't there anymore! This is very frustrating because it's done this to me 3 times and I'm not sure what to do.

The same thing happened to me when I updated to the new software when iPhone 4S came out.

i have 3 panels in my application and parent panel is displayed first then i display other two panels which come to the front then on entering correct password i discard the child panel and then you can see parent panel , but there is an issue when i add menu to my parent panel i dont know whats wrong when i add menu bar in my user interface (parent panel)  gives me error that this handle is not a panel handle(return value -42) for a child panel. when i dont open and display child panel then its fine , and even without menu added to my parent panel all my panels and my application works perfactly

    Hello smartprogrammer,
some more informations are needed in order to properlu help you in this situation:
    - Are you adding menus dynamically at runtime or in the UIR editor? If dynamically: how are you loading the menu bar?
    - Are you dynamically tailoring the menu bar at runtime (adding or deleting menu items, dimming / undimming some of them or checking / unchecking)?
    - Can you post the code where you are getting the error, documenting variables and scope (local to the function, global to the source file, global to the project)?
You can look at uirview.prj example that ships with CVI for an example of LoadMenuBar (the exampl eis in <CVI samples>\userint folder): in that project, the menu bar is shown as a context menu when you right-click on a tree element (see DeferredMenuCB callback).

  • When I disconnect my camera, it still appears in iphoto and i can't import the pictures

I have been successfully downloading images from my camera into iPhoto.....until recently.  For whatever reason, when I plugged the camera and clicked to import, I got a message saying that it was unable to import the images.  Then when I unplugged the camera, the device icon did not go away and dashed outlines of the images remained.  When I shut down and restart iPhoto, the icon and these dashed image outlines remain.  I have been able to connect the camera to another Mac and the images download fine.  It seems like something has been corrupted on my machine and I need a way to clear it.  I am using a MacBook Air running Leopard 10.6.8.  To the best of my knowledge nothing has changed.

    Try trash the following file
    com.apple.ImageCaptureNotifications.DeviceDiscoveryDatabase.501
    from HD/Library/ Caches
    and restart your mac.

  • Why is my image more pixelated after changing the DPI?

I am creating a magazine for a university project and I have chosen 2 images to be included in one of my articles. I changed the DPI of both images in PhotoShop to 300 DPI and saved them before placing them into my InDesign document but they appear to be even more pixelated after this than what they were when I placed them straight from the internet. Will they be like this when I print it or does it only look pixelated on my screen? Any help?

What is the effective resolution in InDesign? (look into the link panel.) (BTW resolution of an image is measured in PPI, not in DPI!)
Is the link up to date?
How do you proof it? Did you turn on the high quality display?
What file type are you using?
What is the scaling factor of the image in InDesign?
How did you change the resolution in Photoshop? What was the first resolution, did you change the size of the image?

Greetings.  I'm following the steps in the following link from Adobe:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Lightroom/3.0/Using/WSE828B644-9097-46ab-98A7-E2719BBB6647.htm l
The final step, after selecting the folder I want to add, is to select Import.  Except, the Import button remains grayed out.  I'm not sure what to do in order to select Import and add the folder I already have.
    Thanks,

Thank you for the information.  Yes, that seems to make sense based on what I've discovered using LR 4.  Still trying to come up to speed.  Appreciate everyone's help with their tips and insight.

Folders per se cannot be imported - only pictures (or movies) in a folder can. So, you have to select a folder containing at least one picture or movie (all pictures and movies found are automatically selected when the import dialog opens). This is probably not the case for the folder you want to add, so "no photos found" is displayed in the dialog center and the "Import" button is greyed out.

  • When working mouse will randomly move even when I'm not moving it

When working on my computer my mouse will randomly move even when I'm not moving it. It is like I have a ghost mouse that is moving across the screen by itself. I checked and made sure screen sharing isn't on. It occurs randomly from what I can tell. It happened twice tonight where I'm on a window with my hand on the mouse and the cursor will move up to the top of the screen and then to the very left (which will turn on my screen saver). I will make me feel better if someone has seen this to. It happens very quickly and I can get control of my mouse. I have seen this off and on for a while. Anyone else?

    I have the same issue.
It is a wired Mighty Mouse on a 24" iMac. My Macbook Pro with Wireless Mighty Mouse has never had an issue that I can recall, only the desktop.
It's pretty **** annoying to be fencing something in on Photoshop and suddenly your mouse is up in the corner of the screen and you've selected half your picture.
Anyone have any thoughts? What are the common denominators here?
As I said, 24" iMac running 10.5.5(although it has been happening since I purchased the computer somewhere around 10.5.3) Corded Mighty Mouse, Aluminum Keyboard. Can't think of any other relevant information....

  • When I add media from my dLink surveillance camera, the avi files always land in audio instead of the video area. Why, and how can I get them to land as visual?

I am trying to edit some of the surveillance videos taken from our dLink camera of the dogs playing when we are not home, but when I import the .avi files, it always just goes to the audio portion (of Premiere Elements 11) and nothing shows up as video. What am I doing wrong? Please know, I am completely new at this program, since I bought it for the purpose of playing with my dLink home camera videos and haven't been able to do a single thing with them as of yet due to how they are importing. I did "get media" from my Bloggie camera to see if that worked, and it did come across as a video and not just audio, so I am not sure why the other isn't working.

ATR, just to make sure you understand me, all my video clips in my folders appear as the first frame of the video clip when I view my folders as (small, medium, large)icons instead of lists, when saved as .avi files but when saved as .mp4 files, those icons display as a graphic icon of filmstrip with a musical note on it. I do have various other methods to open with (quick time, windows media, winamp or real player) but prefer real player because I like it's quick and easy trimmer that comes along with it, since so many of my videos are just pet antics where you need to clip off the boring beginning and ends of the video.
I did go on a few of the icons and right clicked, Open With, and tried quick time and also Windows Media and it did nothing as far as how the file was saved for display, and they opened the same no matter which player I used...the actual video opens and plays right at it's first frame... but it's the way it is visually displayed in STORAGE that bugs me because it isn't immediately apparent to me what it is a video of (weddings, outside the house, pet antics)... it makes me have to actually title things and read titles where before I let it just be dates because I had the visual of that first frame as a reference. Obviously, this is a problem for unedited videos only, as anything I actually work with, I do give a title along with the date of the video.
I also just realized this seems to be the way ALL videos that are wrapped in .mp4 are displayed, as my bloggie camera's videos appear the same way. Now I know why! My other videos display as .avi's so I see the frame. Puzzle solved. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it, as it seems to be how things display with the various formats.
Now I need to watch some tutorials to learn how this Premiere program works! It's all new to me, since this is the first time I've been able load any of my videos onto it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to trim on it yet!
