Getting Purchased Apps after Restoring Ipod touch

I purchased apps previously but had to restore my ipod touch. After I restored it the apps and music I purchased through itunes was no longer there, and when I went back to them it tried to make me pay for them again. How do I re-download apps and music I already purchased without purchasing them again?

According to the iPod Touch User manual which you can find here:
http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_touch_iOS4_UserGuide.pdf
To replace a deleted application:
On iPod touch: Purchase the app again (you won’t be charged).
In iTunes: Connect iPod touch to your computer, select iPod touch in the Devices list,
click Apps and select the checkbox next to the app, then click Apply.

  • Restoring Apps after restoring iPod Touch

I recently restored my wife's iPod Touch and when I hooked it back up to her laptop iTunes kept asking me to purchase the January update. I kept telling it no seeing as we had already purchased the update along with the apps back in January. I read on the forum how it should be restored using the computer that the Touch was first synched to. This solved the problem seeing as how I was using the newest laptop to do the restore. The problem is that her original laptop is close to failing which means at some point I won't be able to restore the apps if the need arises again. Is there some way to transfer the January update files and apps over to her new computer so that next time I should be able to do a restore without having to use the original laptop?

The iPod touch January Software Upgrade can only be synced to iPod touch from the primary iTunes library. If the user is manually managing music and video on iPod, this is the computer where they first set up the iPod or first set it up after restoring the iPod. The "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file can be copied from the computer where you purchased it to your primary iTunes library computer, and sync the iPod from there.
    The file is located here:
    Mac OS X:
    ~/Library/iTunes/Mobile Applications
    Windows XP
    C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\Mobile Applications\
    Windows Vista:
    C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\\Apple Computer\iTunes\Mobile Applications\
Note: These locations are hidden by default in Windows. You can these locations by choosing "Show hidden files and folder" in the View tab of the Folder Options Control Panel.
Once you have copied the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file to the computer with your home library, make a new folder named Mobile Applications in the correct location, and place the "iPod touch App Pack 4A93.ipa" file there. Open iTunes and sync your iPod touch.

    Try:

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.alredy suggested
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Sounds like you have multiple Apple IDs, which causes a myriad of issues.  Go here to straighten it out.  Be forewarned that it's a pain.

  • HT1918 When wanting to purchase apps front my iPod touch I am required to answer different security questions each time which I can not remember and thus can't buy any apps, what nonsense is this! How can I get around this ridiculous disaster

Hi there, when I was trying to purchase an app on my iPod touch it asked me to answer sequroty questions which I did not know the answer to. So now I am not ble to get any apps on the iPod from the app store which is very annoying.  This is a must and needs to resolved ASAP. Thanks :)

It will take longer to charge the 5G's battery than either the 3G or 4G's battery.
    Not Charge
    - See:

    - Try another cable. The cable for 5G iPod (lightning connector) seems to be more prone to failure than the older cable.

  • Problems after restoring iPod touch

Hi again...sigh.... I had to restore my iPod touch since I had forgotten the pass code and after I restored it, I chose to restore everything from iCloud but I didn't remember my iCloud username and so now everything is gone! All my photos, games, and settings are gone. I'm thinking about getting somebody from Apple to help me get it back...if anyone has anything to say that's helpful in this situation, please voice it! I need serious help with this.

You user ID is an email address. Are you saying you used a different email address for your iClould account other than the ID/email address you used for purchasing apps/music?
    Try:
Is there a way to find my Apple ID Name if I can't remember it?
Yes. Visit My Apple ID and click "Find out." See How to find your Apple ID if you'd like more information.

  • Can I put purchased apps on both ipod touch and iphone4

I have an ipod touch and am going to purchase an iphone. Can I put purchased apps on both? If so how do I do it? I hate to have to double buy all these apps. The free ones I can download again.

Yes you can unless an app is specifically for the Touch. There are two ways to do when you get your new iPhone:
    - When you first connect your iPhone you should be asked if you want to restore the phone using the backup of your Touch. I got that option when I already had a iPad and then bout a 4G Touch. The backup will get you all the applicable app together with there data.
    - Do not restore from backup and instead check in iTunes the apps you want on the iPhone. However, only the apps themselves will be on the iPhone not any data in the apps that were on the Touch.

  • How to recover photos after restoring iPod touch?

Yesterday, there was an update for the iOS 6, I believe. When I pressed the update button, a message popped up saying that there was a problem with my iPod touch 4G and that I need to restore it. I had absolutely no idea why that message would pop up in the first place because my iPod was working just fine. But I couldn't update my iPod to the newest version if I didn't do what iTunes says... so I was about to restore my iPod, but then I was worried that all of my photos would disappear. So I decided to update my iOS later so that I could transfer all my files on to my computer. I then unplugged my iPod, and tried to turn it on but the home screen wouldn't pop - no matter what I did, all the screen showed was an itunes icon on top with a USB plug-in cord at the bottom. So I had no choice but to restore my iPod. The thing is, once I restored my iPod and all, my photos were all gone and I did not use iCloud as a back-up since a few months ago. All of my recent photos are now gone and I have no idea how to recover them. I've tried programs that aim to recover deleted photos, but they didn't work.
Is there a way to recover photos after restoring the iPod Touch?

    Hello,
It is very important to backup your device to the computer before updating or restoring.
You can restore your device to a previous backup, all the photos that were there when you made the backup should return with it, but I'm afraid that any photos taken or saved after the last backup are unrecoverable.
    I hope this helps.

  • Recovering music library after restoring iPod Touch

My uncle bought a used iPod Touch, which came with a bunch of music on it.  At some point, it froze on him, and he restarted it, and then restored it.  At that point, he lost all that music.  He is hoping to get it back.  I told him that the music is probably still on the drive but is just not showing up in iTunes.  I've tried to rescue it using Disk Utility, but his iPod Touch doesn't even show up in my Disk Utility.  Any ideas, or is he out of luck?

"He has no legal right to any music that was on the ipod when he bought it.  He should not have the music in the first place."
That's not necessarily true.  Music from CDs and the iTunes store is one thing, but now all music comes from those sources.  There is a lot of music that is freely shared, royalty free, and not bound by any copyright or publishing, because that is how the musicians responsible for it want their music to be treated.
But regardless of the legality of the songs, if recovering files is an absolute impossibility on an iPod Touch, then you just helped me decide not to buy one.  Thanks for the insight.  I'll let my uncle know .

  • How do I get an app into the ipod touch?

I downloaded the ibooks app and it's in my itunes application library. I've synched several times, but the application is not being installed on my ipod touch (2nd generation, ios4.2). What do I need to do to get this installed?

In the Apps pane for the iPod in iTunes do  you have the iBooks app checked so it will sync to the iPod?
Yu can also redownload the app directly to the iPod via the Store app.

  • Backing up purchased apps before selling ipod Touch

I want to sell my iPod touch 4g. I am going to erase it first but is there any way to backup the purchased apps somewhere so that I may transfer them to my new iPhone 4 when I buy it?

  • After restoring iPod Touch to factory settings it's still connected to my account...?

I am going to sell my iPod Touch 5th Gen so I went on my laptop and restored it to factory default. I've done this before and it disconnected an iPod Nano from my account and I was able to sell it, but this time I got a message on my laptop saying "This iPod is linked to your Apple iD. Please activate"
Is there any way for me to disconnect it so it isn't linked to my ccount anymore? Thanks

    Hi pluto,
Follow the instructions in this article. I think the main thing you need to do is to go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Content and Settings. This will turn off Find My iPhone and delete your iCloud account, which I think is the culprit here:

  • I'm trying to get new apps on my iPod Touch

I updated the software and updated iTunes.
But when I click on the Apps tab in iTunes for my device, I see the Apps I downloaded but I cannot check them to sync with my iPod.  They are unavailable.  I'm using Windows 7 if that makes any difference.
    Any suggestions?

On your iPod Touch head to Settings -> General -> Restrictions and make sure either all restrictions are off or that at least Installing Apps is Off.
    Any luck there?
