Getting ready to leave Sprint and get 3G S - Please share experience
Hello everyone,
I'm getting ready to order my first iPhone... I'm WAY overdue. I'm interested in hearing from those of you who left other carriers on how well the activation and porting process has gone. Did you order online and activate at home, pick up at Apple store, or pick up at AT&T store and activate there? Any glaring problems with any of those options? How quickly was your phone with your previous carrier deactivated?

Bunky, since you have been on Sprint for 8 years, then you probably have the knowledge and apps that let you use those Sprint phones to their fullest. Also, you realize that you will pay AT&T $50.00/month over the price of your voice plan. And that $10.00 of that $30.00/month data cost is due to AT&T still subsidizing the $200.00 price drop of the iPhone ($240.00 over the 24 month contract) and they won't even consider matching the Sprint per month fees.
I have been a Nextel-Sprint customer for about 10 years and weathered their transition. I would love to have an iPhone, but $1200.00 ($50.00 x 24) over a two year period to have an iPhone versus keeping my Sprint PCS hybrid, well you do the math.
The iPhone may be the best mobile communication device on the market and it is manufactured by a company (Apple) with the highest customer satisfaction rating. Unfortunately it is linked, through contractual agreements, to a company that throttles back it's capabilities, their over priced plans, poor service, and marketing greed. Makes me wonder where pricing would be at if Cingular was the carrier instead of AT&T (remember AT&T bought Cingular after Apple announced the iPhone and the exclusive contract with Cingular).

if you're saying the default function of 'restore' has always been update to latest for your device you'd all be correct.. but that's not what i'm talking about. shift+click restore and you'll be prompted to browse for your firmware. since the dawn of the iphone (ask anyone that's actually used this feature) you have always been able to use this feature to install same-version ios as to what version is on the device. in the past it was more open, allowing you to update to any version above the one you're on, but that was taken away back in IOS3.. for example.
i'm sure for the average user who has no idea what version ios they use or want this would be completely transparent so i don't really blame you for not knowing or using this feature. for others like me this is a big deal. hopefully someone else who is on the same page as i am will chime in..
i think it's a little crazy to force your users to only use the specific version ios you want them to. have you tried ios7 on an ipad2? hello lag. there are more reasons than mine to want to be able to control what software runs on YOUR hardware.. think about it. -
HTC Trophy Accessories - Please share what and where!
Evidently, Verizon does not really care about this missed revenue opportunity. I have yet to stop by a Verizon store (retail or partner) where there are any Trophy accessories in stock. That includes major cities like Tampa, Boston, and Atlanta. Shame on you. Thank goodness for Amazon.

PDair Luxery Silicon Case - Coolest case I have seen for the Trophy yet. Found this through a coworker in CA who purchased one for his Trophy. $20 - no holla. Just be aware that the case does ship from China. Doesn't cost more, just takes a little longer to get your order. Worth the wait! Covers all of the phone except for the screen. Button access is good, as is access to all of the speakers and ports.

Case Mate Safe Skin - Started off as a favorite, until I found the PDair. The case is black, silicon, covers the phone corners, and provides good button and port access.

And while reading some screen-film reviews, I came across this:
Skinomi TechSkin - If you like bubbles on your screen, I can hook you up! I am the WORST at putting on screen protectors. That is probably the main reason why I like the Skinomi so much. IT IS as advertised. Spray the provided liquid on the film and place the film over the Trophy screen. Allow 48 hours to set and dry. You can still use the phone at that time, but after 2 days there will be NO BUBBLES. The film texture does not bother the responsiveness of the phone and the texture is very forgiving with scratches. Had my Trophy in my hoodie pocket with my car keys. While there were a few scratches or indentations on the screen, they were gone by the next morning. I can't say enough good things about this protector.

If you get a moment, please share what accessories you were able to find and where!Um, okay, Anthony... I hit your "Trophy" link and found a 2 Trophy batteries and an HTC backplate. Out of 73 items in the "Trophy Store", 3 are HTC/Trophy specific and the rest are DROID accessories and surplus.
Trolling the forums for unhappy Verizon customers is, I am sure, a thankless job. Here's a helpful hint. HTC, Case Mate, and several other companies carry skins, authentic/customized leather cases, and screen shields. It would be a lot less insulting to your Verizon customer to point them to a page with HTC, or Windows Phone stuff in inventory and not a bunch of DROID garbage. Again, no offense to you - not your decision to overcommit on undesirable DROID accessories.
In addition, I am thinking that you would get a much warmer reception in the Trophy and/or Windows Phone Forums if you could get your Executive Management Team to carry something more than DROIDS and iPhones, Not everyone likes, is going to like, will like, or has to like the DROIDS. And your decision to carry the iPhone seems to now be a big no-profit hardware deal that has done nothing but clog our network with Angry Bird players and questions to Siri. Nice going. Difference here, Anthony, is that we DO know who to blame for this screw-up. Let the guilty parties know that they need some Nokia, HTC and Samsung Windows Phones added to the inventory. I Have a iPhone 4s and I keep getting this error "Could not activate cellular data network" I have sprint and to use any internet om my iphone i have to connect to wifi. What do i do to fix my celluar connection. I took my sim card and put it back in and it still didnt work.

That is precisely what my mid-2010 MacBoook Pro 13 was doing before the drive finally died after an Apple Genius rebooted it a dozen or so times. I have since read about the exact same thing happening to others, including a writer for The Atlantic magazine who had never had an issue with a Mac before. Do a back-up ASAP to make sure you don't lose anything and see about replacing the HDD. It is only about $140 for a new drive. The real issue is if you lose your data, too. So, make sure you do that back-up!

I have multiple email accounts. One is a google email and another aol. I have the aol going into my google. I Now Go Lead Generate! Am using outlook on my pc. How can I get my outlook to share with my ipad?
In Mail Preferences/Accounts/each GMail account, set up the SMTP Outgoing Server for each account separately, going into SMTP name/edit/Advanced and specify the Username of each account. The Outgoing servers must be two different servers, authenticated by the Username and Password of each.
Otherwise, the GMail SMTP server will change the from address to that of the account where the SMTP server was setup.

How do I get pages documents to share between a PC and an IPad?
I have read the instructions for both the IPad and the PC cloud installation and the document sharing portion. I did everything that the apple website said to do but my documents aren't sharing. Everything is up to date: itunes, pages. How do i get the documents to share between my two devices?

I am having problems uploading a photo book from my MacBook Pro!!! I almost complete uploading this 32 page iPhoto book when I get an error message stating "An error occurred uploading your order" This error message has occurred for each of my four attemps to upload. I have carried out a Disk Utility-Verify hard drive check and swapped from wireless to ethernet and still no joy. Can anyone suggest why this might be occurring and provide a solution please?
