Getting remote control 438483-001 to work in Win7

I have recently upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 premium (clean install).
Now my remote control which came with my dv9770ea laptop (P/N 438483-001) does not work.  Batteries checked, the remote's green light flashes when pushing a button, AND when using Windows Media Centre the image/sound stalls for a split second when pushing some of the buttons.  The card remote RC1762302/00 that also came with the laptop does work without problems.  Hence I am confused.  Apparently the infrared receiver does work for the above two reasons.  However I'd like to use the remote and expect I need a driver update for it.
Any suggestions?
Cheers

All,
I've found the following solution for my problem, through the following thread:

1) Install HP Quickplay quick launch buttons from HP website:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp39001-39500/sp39425.exe
2) Install the following driver:
sp40139.exe
downloadable from:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-64317-1&lc=en&dlc=&cc=us&os...
Best of luck and hope it works for you too!

• DVD Remote Control buttons don't work when using regular DVD player

I created a DVD using DVD Studio Pro (version 3.0.2) and am unable to navigate through any menus or buttons using the DVD players remote control. I can press the play button on the actual DVD player and play the movie. How can I fix this issue? Any suggestions would be helpful!
I never changed the default setting on the file I made and the DVD works just fine in the simulator as well as any computer DVD player. Also, is there a way to make sure the DVD will play on all DVD players even if it doesn't read burned DVDs?
Thanks for the help!

Not sure if I can add anything here - you're in good hands! I'd like to know how you constructed the menus - did you use photoshop layers for the background and overlay, or did you use a pict file? Are these motion menus or static?
About the compatibility - a burned disc will only ever be about 85% compatible with the number of DVD players out there, and if a DVD player states that it cannot read from DVD-R or DVD+R discs then it most likely won't play your disc. The only way to approach full compatibility is to have the disc replicated, but the cost of this usually means it is not worth while for anything less than 500 to 1000 discs at a time. If you are using DVD±R then all you can do is take steps to make sure the disc is as compatible as it can be, such as keeping the MPEG encode less than 7.5MBPS, using AC3 audio, not applying paper labels and so on.
Compatibility is getting better in general, this summer I have burned in excess of 90 individual projects on DVD-R (and duplicated each one up to seven times each) for playback on consumer players and only one came back (so far). When I looked at it there was a chunk missing from the surface of the disc, which probably explained the error!

• Need Sceptre TV Remote Control code(s) that work with VZ P265v3RC -- the '335' code does NOT

Recently upgraded my TV's in my house with new Sceptre 40" and 50" TV's - thank you WalMart. Purchased in September 2014. (new / current Sceptre TVs).
All of the Verizon printed, online, and other documentation for the P265V3 RC (model RC2655005/01B) for Sceptre shows to use code '335'.   I have tried the '335' code on both of the TV's and no worky at all.
Following the 'Quick Setup Guide-Verizon FIOS remote' steps (paper/PDF instructions with RC Manual):
I can successfully enter the '335' code as outlned in step 4... and 'The RED LED will blink twice and then stay on'. occurs.  So far, so good.
Step 5 states, "5. Press and release the <CH +> button repeatedly until the TV turns off......."   This happens perfectly... I can press the <CH+>> button a few times, and indeed, my TV turns off.
Now, onto Step 6: "Test that the remote control is programmed for your TV".....  can't get Mute, A/V, other keys to activate /. be recognized - even though I'm followijng "press and hold that key. Release it as soon as it works"
Does anyone have a working code for Sceptre TV's ??? The Verizon '335' code doesn't work for me.
I need the 'best code' anyone has found that works with new Sceptre TV's.... the 335 code that VZ recommends... no worky.

Robertop,
have you tried the following? The info below  is found here
Turn on your TV and the FiOS TV Set-Top Box.
Make sure you can see live TV.
Press and hold the OK and FiOS TV buttons together then release both buttons.
The red LED light blinks 2 times and then stays on.
Press and hold the Play button.
The remote control tries a new TV code every second.
The red LED light blinks each time a new code is sent.
When the TV turns off, release the Play button immediately.
NOTE: Some TVs may respond slower than others. If necessary, you can press the Ch+ and Ch- buttons to go forward or backward one TV code at a time.
Test your remote to ensure it is working properly:
- Turn on the TV by pressing the TV button on your FiOS TV remote.
- Press the Vol+ and Vol- buttons to ensure that you can control the volume.
- Press the Mute and A/V buttons to ensure they work.
If any of these buttons do not work, press and hold that button. Release the button as soon as it works.
If all the buttons work, press OK to this TV remote code.
The red LED light blinks 3 times and then turns off. Your remote control is now programmed.

• FIOS mobile remote control feature suddenly stopped working

The remote control feature in the new FIOS Mobile app was working superbly this morning and now it doesn't recognized either of my STBs. Any solutions?

Some nokia made remotes have a small battery inside (the one that's supplied with the N95 does) and it may have run out.
If you don't want to open the remote to check then you should take it to a nokia care point/service centre.

• Problem getting Remote Control to work at

I've just installed an X-Fi Platinum and everyting went well. Sound works great.
I do have one problem. The remote does not seem to do anything at all. I DO have the batteries in it, and they ARE in the right way, but pointing it at the I/O reciever from inches away gets no response at all.
Now, I DID download the latest X-Fi driver from this site to install the hardware (rather than the installation CD). I checked the installation CD though for any additional software and found the Creative Media Source software. I installed that.
Still, nothing. The ports and volume knobs on the front of my I/O box work fine, so I do believe that is hooked up fine.
Is there some OTHER piece of software I am supposed to install? Or any other ideas?
worm

Nope, the installer does not work because it looks like it was DESIGNED to prevent you from installing it from outside of the installer application.
The Solution:
Uninstall the LATEST X-Fi drivers from the website here.
Insert CD Rom
Install the OLDER version of the drivers.
Evidently the 40MB download for the current drivers does not contain all the 'extra' programs that come with the driver on the CD. To make things worse, you cannot install the additional applications from the CD (there are no menu options for them).
However, when I install the X-Fi driver from the CD-ROM, then a TON of extra programs (including the CONSOLE!!!) got installed as well. I had no options which to install or not, it just does them ALL.
A couple of suggestions for Creative:
) Add ALL of the software required to run the hardware deli'vered in the box to the downloads/support sections here.
2) On your installation CD, seperate out your X-Fi DRIVER file from all of the extra files. Then someone can find the software they need to run thier hardware, without doing un-obvious things like uninstalling the newer driver and installing older ones with hidden software packages included (which were NOT included in the newer driver package)...

• CHECKED "Disable Remote Control Infrared Received" not working

Hi,
I have an iMac and an Apple TV in the same room. I want the remote for the AppleTV to stop controlling the iMac.
Yes, I have already checked the box in System Preferences/Security & Privacy/General/Advanced.
Yes I have clicked OK and closed the lock to prevent further changes.
But the remote STILL CONTROLS the iMac. Its annoying.
On another discussion forum, a user mentioned a file called "/Library/Preferences/com.apple.driver.AppleIRController.plist" which my computer in fact does not have. Does anyone know, with Mountain Lion 10.8.4, should I still have this file?
Any other ideas what might be causing this?
The remote works and is paired with the AppleTV. But its still changing the iMac.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Many thanks,
ponderosa_74

Sorry to ask, but did you Unpair the Remote when you disabled the IR receiver...?

• Anyway to get combo headphone/mic port to work on Win7 (iMac 27" '13)

Hi,
I just ordered a split cable for the 3,5mm headphone/mic port to be able to use my headset. OS X recognizes the headset - it changes from the internal mic to the external, so no problem with that. But when using Windows 7 (Bootcamp, not virtual) it's not possible to select the external mic, there's only iMac's internal mic listed in "Recording devices".
No doubt this is a driver issue, but is there any solution for it? And yeah, I could buy USB headset or external audio interface, but let's forget those options for now. Sorry if asked (and it surely is) many times before, couldn't find anything with google.
Thanks!

Hi BDAqua,
I can go to /System/Library/Frameworks/, but JavaVM.framework/Versions/A/JavaVM does not exist!
Hi Linc,
I have already downloaded that updater, and it says 'A newer version of this package is already installed'

• Remot Control For Digital@nywhere ATSC and Vista Don't Work Together Very Well

I have a Digital@nywhere ATSC tuner card w/remote.
On Windows XP, the remote worked ok. On Windows Vista, the remote works only some of the time.
On Windos XP, the BDA drivers and utilities on the install disk loaded fine. Not so with Vista.
On Vista, the utilities on the install disk seem to load fine, but the BDA drivers fail.
Loading the Vista Digital@nywhere utilities gets the tuner card to work, but has no drivers for the remote. Leaving me to load the utilities from the install disk, and and the BDA drivers from the Vista Digital@nywhere files. A rather tedious process, with the remote only functioning sometimes.
I have tried every trick I can think of to get the remote control and Vista to work together, to no avail. I'm stumped.
I'd rather not go out and buy a new tuner card, when the Digital@nywhere ATSC tuner card works fine on Vista. I'd just like to have a remote control that works fine too. But I don't.
I hope an answer can be found for this problem.
If I haven't been clear enough, just ask, and I'll try to explain things better.
Thanks for any help that anyone can give.

Are you using Media Center in Vista? If so, buy a Media Center remote, should work with no problems.

• Earbuds remote control doesn't work anymore!

Hi!
I've had an iPhone 4 since September 2010, and I've always used the earbuds that came with him. They used to work great until this week.
Now, it's buillt-in remote control doesn't work anymore.By that I mean I can not skip, pause or even use voice control through the earbuds.
And this probably isn't an iPhone problem, because I tested these earbuds in my iPad 2 and the remote control still doesn't work.
I noticed that the rubber that used to cover the cable itself is coming off, especially near the remote control area.
Is there a fix for these unresponsive controls?
Or what Apple email I should reach in order to ask them about this issue?
Thanks!
My iPhone 4 is running iOS 5.0 and so is my iPad 2.

Is your phone locked in portrait orientation? I've found that for some reason my controls will not work when my portrait orientation is locked.
Try double-clicking the main button, and then sliding your thumb right. You should get some controls at the bottom of your screen, and the button on the far left is the Portrait Lock button. Try unlocking your phone, and see if your earbuds will then work.
Hope that might help!

• Remote Control No longer works after 10.3 upgrade

I have begun pushing out ZCM 10.3 to my infrastructure and I'd like ask WHY the Remote Control Policy no longer works.
The managed device was unable to initialize Novell encryption scheme for the session. Ensure that the managed device is UTC time synchronized with this system. If the problem persists, contact Novell Technical Services
I had a clone with ZCM 10.2.2 which i upgraded to 10.3 and sent it back to my ZENimaging servers.
What is going on here?? Why does this not work?

• Remote Control Optimization under Windows XP

Hello -
I am having problems getting remote control optimizations activated
under
Windows XP. RC works like a dream on our 98 boxen, but XP is slow as
molasses.
Zenworks 3.2 (non-SP1)
Our server is Netware 5.1 sp6 (I think)
Novell Client 4.83 (non-SP1)
Dell Optiplex GX240
Windows XP (non-SP1)
16 mb ATI Rage Pro Ultra Video Card
driver: ati2dvaa.dll
version: 6.59
This is the newest one on Dell's site, albeit dated August 2001.
The thing that gets my goat is that the Zen 3.0 readme says the
Installer
can tell which cards are bad so it doesn't install the .dlls, but then
doesn't list the bad cards. Also, all my machines have drishi.dll in
the
right spot. If anyone has any tips other than 'apply all patches' I
would
greatly appreciate it.

• Remote Control and MediaSourc

I hava an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. I formated my HD last night and reinstalled XP. I then installed the new drivers and Media Source 5 and new DTS Neo plugin. But when I tried to install the old Remote Control plugin, it didn't work, it said I don't have a new Media Source. I couldn't find a new version of the plugin (compatible with media source 5), so, how am I supposed to make remote control work?ThxClaudio Lima">[email protected]?

It is a known issue that the remote does not work in MediaSource 5.
See this thread....
http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=soundblaster&message.id=85763
You only alternati'ves are to:
. Go back to MediaSource 3.
2. Find alternati've Remote control software solutions that work regardless of the version of MediaSource. There are many alternati'ves if you search these forums.
Hope that helps!

• I cant get the control center to swipe on my iphone 5 with ios 7

anyone else haveing the same issue.  the notification center works when you swipe down as well as the search iphone feature.

Yeah, I got fat fingers and have jammed into the most bottom part that the screen will let me touch with the case on and stilll can not get it to work.
Again works fine with the case off and I start the swipe up off the illuminated part of the screen and it works every time. Just does not work with the case on to get the Control Center swipe to work.
Not a great big deal but it is a feature that would be nice to have with my favorite Otterbox Defender Case.
