Getting rid of birthday notifications on calendar...

There have been a bunch of discussions on this but nothing very recent and none of the solutions I've seen are working.  I get these bloody birthday announcements almost every day from my calendar program on my Mac.  First of all, I'd love to know how in the world they even got on my calendar in the first place.  The only thing I can think of is that google is responsible - I synch with my Google Calendar.
Anyway, I have unticked birthday alerts AND what appears to be a calendar called "birthdays" and these darn things just keep on coming....
Anyone have a clue?

The software that allows this printer to function on Windows XP does not have an option to disable this feature. These are maintenance messages for the printer and the software has to show them.
I do not know of a workaround to this either. I hope this helps.

  • Hw do I get rid of birthdays on iPad Calendar?

I don't know if this has anthing to do with my Google Gmai, Google+,Facebook, or syncing issues but my iPad calendar is suddenly showing the birthdays of everyone in my contacts 6 or more times on the date of their birthday. HELP!
I don't want any birthdays on this calendar. They'r too distracting and leave no space for new events.
How do I get rid of them?

Open the calendar app the tap the calendar icon on top right hand corner. You will see the options there to hide the birthdays all at once

I updated my iphone 5 to ios 6.something (something about the speakers) to get rid of a notification and it went into recovery mode!!! My photos are not backed up or on icloud. i havent restored yet because i cannot lose my photos/videos, etc. but tinyumbrella wont work to exit recovery mode. HELP! please:(
i tried tinyumbrella (and another similar software) to exit recovery but it only remains on the apple logo stuck there. please is there anything else i can do? i've contacted apple and they have told me the only choice i have is to restore and lose all my data.
my iphone isn't jailbroken and i've updated before without this problem so i'm not sure what has happened. is there anyyy hope please ???

First I would try to hold down the power and the home button for about 15sec, but at least as long as the iPhone restarts, if it is still stuck or still in recovery mode then I can suggest you the tool "Wondershare Dr. Fone for iOS", it is both a Windows and Mac tool and I just used it today to get my iPad out of the Recovery mode.
Tell me if any of these options worked for you.

  • Can't get rid of Facebook notifications from somone elses account

I upgraded my imac27 to 10.8.4. My wife logged into her facebook account through Safari on my iMac and now I cannot get rid of her facebook notifications from showing up in notification center. She is not logged in to facebook on my computer and I have gone into her account on facebook and killed all of her sessions, but they still show up, even when Safari isn't running. There seems to be other bugs in notification center as well. For instance for facebook I have the box Un-Checked for "Show in Notification Center", and it shows as "Not in Notification Center", but I still get my wife's notifications.

It's actually controlled in System Preferences - Mail/Contacts/Calendars. Locate the Facebook account there and remove it.

    Hi All,
Suddenly, out of nowhere, the Nvidia notification are icon keeps appearing and I cannot get rid of it permanently for love nor money!
If I deselect it by unticking the option in both the notification area icon and in the main Nvidia control panel... it just pops again when I close my laptop and reopen it.
Driving me crazy... anyone got any ideas?
    Many Thanks

sometimes making those changes permanent requires a restart.

Last week I set up a location based reminder in notifications to test it out.  Worked great.  However, I can't get rid of it.  It does not show up on any of the pages, either reminders or completed.  I can search and find it, shows it should be in reminders page, but it is not there for me to remove.  Any ideas?

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

  • Update notification remains after update installed.  How to I get rid of the notification?

I installed the iPhoto update 9.4.1 but the update notification remains.  I've checked iPhoto and it is definitely showing that 9.4.1 is installed.
How do I get rid of the unwanted notification?
    iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Try deleting the cache, cookies, and preference files associated wtih the App Store then restart your Mac.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/LIbrary/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go then move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/Library/Preferences
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
See if that made a difference ...

  • How do I get rid of printer notifications that don't work?

I keep getting a notification from Apple about updating my printer driver. ("Would you like to download and install software for “Samsung SCX-4623 Series”?"). When I click OK it searches for the driver but says it can't find it, and that I should try again later.
As soon as I close out the dialogue it pops up again, "Would you like to download and install software for “Samsung SCX-4623 Series”?" I have to go through the same process again.
I even went to Samsung's site and downloaded the driver again. Soon after the Apple dialogue appeared.
How do I get rid of this dialogue? It's driving me nuts!

Have you tried removing and reinstalling your printer using System Preferences?
If not, open System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the menu on the upper left), and click "Print & Scan".
Then highlight your printer and use the minus sign in the lower left to remove it.
Then use the adjacent plus sign to add it again.

  • How to get rid of the notifications center from the menu?

I unchecked all the "in notifications center" boxes so there is nothing in there. But the notifications center icon is still up there on the menu, over on the right side.
Is there a way to just get rid of it completely?
    Thanks,
    doug

From the OS X Finder, hit Command+Shift+G and enter the path to /System/Library/CoreServices/
Locate “Notification Center.app” and click on the name to rename it to “Notification Center-disabled.app”, authenticate the change when prompted
Now launch Terminal, found in /Applications/Utilities/ and type the following command:
    killall NotificationCenterQuit out of Terminal
Notifications will no longer be posted, alerts will be gone, and the menu bar icon is no longer visible. If you do attempt to get to Notification Center either through a keyboard shortcut or the sideways swipe, you’ll be presented with a blank side of the screen.

  • TS1906 How do you get rid of birthday duplicates?

After setting up iCal and adding birthdays and other events in my contacts.  I now have duplicates of everyones birthdays showing.
I have tried several things but can not delete the duplicates.

You actually have hidden duplicates in your Address Book that you are unaware of; I had the EXACT same problem. I downloaded a program called Bento (http://www.filemaker.com/products/bento/mac.html) and it allowed me to edit my Contact cards. iCal duplicated every single contact I had (and thus doubled the birthdays in my calendar). This allowed me to delete one of the two files (although only one appeared in the Contact app) and my birthdays went back to normal!

  • How to get rid of the notifications on my text icon

So my icon for my text messages say that I have unread messages however when I go into check them there are no new ones. How do I get rid of it?

Have you tried to force close the Messages app. Double-tap the home button to bring up the task list. Swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the Messages app to close it. After that do the reset as I described. See if that will clear it. If not, then you will have to restore the device, first from a backup and if no change then restore as new. Restore as new will delete all content on your device.

  • Getting rid of Birthdays Calendar

I want to get the Birthdays Calendar off of my iPhone, because it doesn't seem to be behaving properly. For one, it isn't showing up in the color that I chose for it in iCal. It shows up as a three different color, blue in iCal, green in MobileMe cloud and red on my iPhone. If I could control it, I might keep it.
I deactivated it in iCal, which also removed it on the cloud, but it is still present on my iPhone. Sure, I can uncheck it so that it doesn't show its contents, but why is it still there and how can I get it off the phone completely? This is one area of syncing that I have found difficult.

    Thanks again,
Yeah, I've been to Apple's feedback page. I've often found it a bit discouraging seeing that they don't respond, and since most suggestions don't seem to get integrated too quickly, if at all. Obviously it doesn't hurt to send feedback via that means anyway, so I most likely will.
My biggest complaint with Apple's basic apps, such as Contacts and Calendar is that they don't even integrate all that well with their desktop versions - Address Book and iCal. I'm not asking for major improvements here, but can you (Apple) at least make your own apps work the same across your own different platforms (Mac, iPhone and MobileMe)? I don't know if anyone noticed, but Apple just allowed the function of actually changing the calendar of an event after the event was created. Before this latest version of the iPhone OS, you either had to stick with the calendar, or create the event from scratch in order to place it in the right calendar (if you didn't choose right from the beginning). It is stuff like this that seems hard to believe.
