Getting Rid of chord grids

Using logic 9 to create Jazz lead sheets but when I manually input a major 7 chord (by draging 'chord' from the part box) it sypmlifies it to just the root note and puts a chord grid underneath the chord symbol and I cant delete or move the chord grid without deleting the whole symbol. all i want is 'B∆7'
i could input it as plain text but then i wouldnt have the upper line for extensions or be able to do slash chords.

Hi fone, just to make sure we are on the same line here, I’ll try to explain my method on how to insert chord symbols without chord grids:
1) Open score and insert >chord< derived from the >A< label in the part Box.
2) Type a chord name on your keyboard and hit return.
3) Select the chord symbol and double click it.
4) you’re now presented with an editor wherein one can adjust chord symbols.

How do I get rid of the grid lines that appeared when I opened my picture in Photoshop?

So I was going to edit a .jpg file in Photoshop and when I went to place it or open it in the software, it showed me this weird set of lines that sort of make a grid. How do I get rid of them since it overlaps with my picture?

I just downloaded the update for garageband and I realized that I can no longer find the grid button! Did Garageband get rid of the grid button??? How can I change the bar to 1/32 and 1/64 or swing 1/32 for better, easier, and precise editing?

The visible grid is automatic - it will depend on the zoom slider setting and is no longer as versatile as in the previous version.
And you can set an automatic Time Quantize in the Track Editor.

Help, How do I get rid of the grid marks when converting Numbers spreadsheet to PDF?

I'm having an issue when Converting numbers documents in to PDF. When I export to PDF, I get an additional page or two of gridlines..
I also get the chart lines and cell lines showing up on my PDF.
My equipment is MacBook Pro Mid 2012 - OSX 10.9.2

Any way to get rid of the awful white background in grid view?

The old dark background was infinitely easier on the eyes, and more attractive. When I look at stuff in grid view now it gives me a headache. Any chance of changing this back via terminal or something?

I would also like to know how to get rid of ugly *** white background. It ****** me off every time I have to look at it. There is nothing that I see here as being an improvement over the last itunes.

I downloaded CS5 trial and, when it ran out, I got grids over all my pictures. I just bought and installed CS5 and put the download in the trashcan, but the grids are still there. How do I get rid of them?

Photoshop doesn't work that way.
When the trial ends, Photoshop just stops launching.

this behavior sounds unusual. Normaly you insert each component individual.
Did you just insert a table or die you "open query"?
If you opened a query, your query is inserted into the standard workbook and if this one includes the filter then you will get it ...
If you switch on the design mode, you will see each component and you can delete the ones you don´t want to use - just make roght mouse click on the component and select "delete".

How do I get rid of the pop-up ads in Safari, OSX 10.9.3

I've just bought a MacBook Air one month ago and it's been working fine till recently when all of a sudden I get redirected to various pages whilst surfing the web. It seems the first page to load on the popped up tabs is Adcash.com. This problem occurs on varoius websites, but not on all of them. For instance I don't have this problem with apple.com and other secure sites. Is this some kind of virus, malware or similar?
Apple support hasn't been able to help me and I've tried to remove cookies, and looked around here for help, to no avail. One thread contained advice to remove certain files on my hard drive but none of those files were present on my disk, so I was back to square one. What can I do to get rid of the pop-ups?
This is my first Mac and I'm not particularly computer litterate so I hope you guys can help me out.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Get rid of intrusive HUGE and UGLY dark bands behind HUGE icons on Home Screen

How do I get rid of the intrusive, huge and ugly dark bands behind the huge icons, and reduce the size of the icons on the Home Screen?
On my 8320 I can use pictures of my kids for wallpaper. On the 8900 they have wasted half of the beautiful screen with these huge ugly icons and dark bands - cuts right through two of my kids eyes and two of my kids mouths and below.
What were they thinking? They advertise the 8900 (and the 8520) by emphasizing a full screen picture - but when you actulally buy the phones, they have inserted these cursed screenscape hogs. Any firmware fixes yet? Or, now that Nokia has released their E71 that not only handles email as well as my BB, but also allows me to create and edit docx, should I abandon the 8900 as a lost cause and buy the E71? And, as long as we are discussing RIM's myopic short sightedness, why no 3G on this device?
Please hurry, my buyers remorse clock is ticking and I need to send this thing back to the carrier if it can't be fixed.

Hello, to change the size (I have six icons per row not five) go to options>advanced options>accessability and change the amount on the grid. Default 6x6, then 4x4 3x3 etc., you can also change the colours. Hope I`m not barking up the wrong tree but have bbn of help! Regards Kew

How to get rid of the Unwanted background shadow

Problem solved by change the
popup = PopUpManager.createPopUp(this, Popup_HomeState, true) as Popup_HomeState;
to
popup = PopUpManager.createPopUp(this, Popup_HomeState, false) as Popup_HomeState;

How do I get rid of the "other" space that's taking up my disk space?

So my mac has been constantly giving me notifications about how my hardrive space is almost full. So I went into my storage space to find out what was taking up so much space on my laptop to find that this "other" seems to be taking up the most space. So I was just wondering how I can decrease this or how I can get rid of it?

Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash first:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Do the same in other applications, such as Aperture, that have an internal Trash feature. Then restart the computer. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation—not the mythical 10%, 15%, or any other percentage. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of the data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
When Time Machine backs up a portable Mac, some of the free space will be used to make local snapshots, which are backup copies of recently deleted files. The space occupied by local snapshots is reported as available by the Finder, and should be considered as such. In the Storage display of System Information, local snapshots are shown as Backups. The snapshots are automatically deleted when they expire or when free space falls below a certain level. You ordinarily don't need to, and should not, delete local snapshots yourself. If you followed bad advice to disable local snapshots by running a shell command, you may have ended up with a lot of data in the Other category. Ask for instructions in that case.

Triple-click anywhere in the corresponding line of text below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.

How to get rid of '+' sign in front of ASM in OEM

I have the target name like '+ASM1_cad2updb001' in the OEM. For our program to work, I need to get rid of the plus sign at the begining. Can you tell me how to achieve this? Thanks!

I think there is a need to clarify what it is you are actually looking to a achieve. I assume from you posts that all you care about is the display name in Grid Control? If this isn't the case then what I'm saying is not relevant... Anyway, I've just done a quick bit of testing in Grid Control and the most straightforward way to rename the ASM instance would be:
Targets -> All Targets -> Select the ASM instance you wish to rename and click remove (confirm removal)... Then you'll want to add the ASM instance back in, but without the "+", so use Setup -> Agents -> Select the appropriate agent and Add "Automatic Storage Management". You will then be able to name the ASM instance as you wish providing is does not duplicate the name of another target.
It is also possible via editing targets.xml as described here
Please comment about why you want to lose the "+" from the name and let us know if you are using Database Control or Grid Control?

How to I get rid of the small gap between overlapping objects

Hi
I can't seem to get rid of a small gap/line between 2 objects I've used the shape builder tool on.
I do as follows:
1. I have 2 objects overlapping
2. I remove the red sektion, so I'm left with a pink circle and a red obejct inside, using the Shape Builder tool
3. If I place an object below the 2 objects, in the same color as the red object, I get a small line between the 2 red colors. It almost seems like the pink circle and the small red object is not aligned, but they are.
I've tried to turn off Anti aliasing and align to Pixel grid, but nothing seems to work.
Is there no way to have 2 objects on top of each other, without having the bottom one making a small line/gap?

Although I've seen a result like that before, I can't seem to reproduce it here now. It's one of the reasons I never use the Shape Builder tool to do anything that can be done without it.

There is, of course. There is also always more than one way to do something. It might be better if you cut the dark ellipse out of the light one completely using the more mechanical Pathfinder > Minus Front feature rather than inducing an "interpretation" with the Shape Builder.
