Getting rid of Click Bios on P45 Platinum

So I thought I'd test Click Bios. It was fun for a while but is incredibly slow to boot and is most definitly not finished at all (Disabeling the onboard soundcard made it imposible to enter Click Bios again).
So I want to reflash the old BIOS, I tried the guide on the Click BIOS page (http://www.msi.com/html/popup/MB/uefi/guide_u_l.html) but it says that the BIOS is write protected. I cannot find that feature anywhere in Click Bios at all, so I cannot flash the old BIOS.
Does anybody know where I might find that feature or anyway around this?
Thanks in advance.

    Whenever I try to uninstall this crappy program I get an error message

    I've had this happen before (it always installs wrong) and somehow I figured out how to get rid of it but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it. Disabling the plug-in on the chrome toolbar does absolutely nothing.

  • Content Pane: Help getting rid of "Click to activate this control"

    I know this came up a long time ago when IE
    changed--Flash/swf content needs to be clicked to be activated
    first. I thought Robohelp 6 would address it, but not.
    The challenge: Cannot use the fixes publised because the html
    pages created by Robohelp, like the Content pane, are generated
    with Javascript. Ironically posted solutions use Javascript to
    change the Embed, object, etc. tags! And I don't know Javascript!
    The entire Content pane needs to be clicked first so you can
    click an item in the contents. Its html file seems to be
    wf_master.htm and when you look at the code, the tags are fed in
    like this:
    // Build tag to document.write
    strObject = "<OBJECT
    classid='clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000' codebase='
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0'";
    strObject += "WIDTH='100%' HEIGHT='100%' id='masterSWF'
    ALIGN='' VIEWASTEXT>";
    strObject += "<PARAM NAME='movie'
    VALUE='wf_master.swf'>";
    strObject += "<PARAM NAME=quality VALUE=high>";
    strObject += "<PARAM NAME='menu' value='false'>";
    // FlashVars for Object tag:
    strObject += "<PARAM NAME=FlashVars VALUE='" +
    strFlashVars + "'>";
    strObject += "<EMBED src='wf_master.swf' quality=high
    WIDTH='100%' menu='false' HEIGHT='100%' NAME='masterSWF'
    swliveconnect=true ALIGN='' ";
    // FlashVars for Embed tag:
    strObject += "FlashVars='" + strFlashVars + "' ";
    strObject += "TYPE='application/x-shockwave-flash'
    PLUGINSPAGE='
    http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer'>";
    strObject += "</EMBED>";
    strObject += "</OBJECT>";
    Adobe's solutions 1 or 2

    *Question/request:
    1) Has/can someone come up with a way or code (or function?)
    that can be added somewhere centrally (in a key file) so when
    robohelp renders the above html tags are replaced therefore
    eliminating the need of clicking the swf content to activate it?
    I don't know how Robohelp renders to help me find the file
    where a change like this can be made.
    2) Or can the output Javascript file be modified?
    Robohelp seems to ride on Javascript and the 'solutions' are
    in Javascript. I can't believe RObohelp developers have not
    addressed this with the Robohelp 6.
    I upgraded to Robohelp 6, use Robohelp HTML, publish using
    FlashHelp, and my users use IE,

    just search forum - this has been discussed almost everyday
    since the issue surfaced a few
    weeks/months ago - in fact somebody actually posted a link to
    an article explaining it 11 minutes
    before you posted your question
    Subject: IE Changes Due: What you can Expect.
    It's not a flash issue - it is an Eolas/Microsoft issue. Also
    google around - tons of articles on
    news sites about this and also on adobe and macromedia that
    explains it all.

  • Getting rid of click to continue

    Hey everyone, this may be incredibly simple. In my quiz the success caption of "Correct - Click anywhere or press 'y' to continue." pops up (or the incorrect alternative) after each question. I can move this off-stage, but how can I configure it so the user does not need to press anything to go to the next slide? I couldn't find this in the preferences anywhere.
    Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hello and welcome to the forum,
    The default behavior in the Question slides is two steps:
    the user clicks Submit button, and the Success/Failure captions show up, slide stays paused so that the user will be able to read the captions
    the user clicks on the slide or presses Y when he is ready to move on, then the playhead is released and will continue AND eventually the actions you specify On Success/On Failure (after last attempt) will be executed.
    You want only one step? OK, then you'll need some work and have to estimate for each question slide how much time is needed for the user to read the captions:
    create your own Success/Failure Text captions and set them invisible
    delete the default Success/Failure captions (Success can be turned off in the Properties panel, Failure you'll have to delete on the slides)
    add as Success action to show your custom Success caption, and as Failure action to show your custom Failure caption
    be sure to provide enough time after the pausing point of the question slide so that the user will be able to read the caption
    Now, the two steps are reduced to one step: when the user clicks the submit button, the playhead will move on, the actions will be executed showing the text captions but when the end of the slide is reached the next slide will pop up. So, no pausing after clicking the Submit button because you deleted the first step.

  • When will firefox get rid of 'Click Me' as it continally crashes and freezes my computer.

    My question says it all.

    Quoting '''the-edmeister''' and '''cor-el''' from https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1025706
    That Click Me game is part of the Humble Mozilla Bundle promotion on the default Home Page [about:home], that loads from the Mozilla servers in the "Brand Logo" (DIV) section of about:home. A feature that was first used in Firefox 29 [IIRC] just prior to the start of the Olympic Games.
    Also, part of that promotion is addressed in the "Snippet" below the Search Container on the about:home page.
    If you want to block the "Brand Logo" section (and the "snippet" below the Search container) from ever being seen again, you can install [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/ Stylish] and this UserStyle. https://userstyles.org/styles/104673/about-home-hide-snippets-and-hide-brand-logo
    If you prefer not to see the snippets on the about:home page or otherwise experience problems with a snippet then you can set the '''browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl''' pref to an empty string on the '''about:config''' page. Delete the '''storage\persistent\moz-safe-about+home''' folder in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed ("3-bar" Firefox menu button > Exit/Quit) to remove snippets stored in IndexedDB and make Firefox use a default snippet set. You can reset the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref via the right-click context menu to the default value to re-enable the snippets and make Firefox recreate the moz-safe-about+home folder. You need to close and restart Firefox after changing the value of the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref.
    You can open the '''about:config''' page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
    You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:
    Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
    Alternatively you can just change your home page to another web page at:

  • P45 platinum bios/oc issues / Click bios info

    damn board is annoying me, it's currently running bios 1.7b9 but it's being a twit, firstly getting it to run the memory at 1066 (I've got 2*2gb kingston hyperX pc8500) is proving really difficult yet it was easy on my previous gigabyte p35 board. The only success I have had so far is to knock the multi down to 11 from 12.5 and thats got me fairly close, cpu is an E5200 btw and currently at fsb of 341 with the ram at 511 , ram voltage doesn't have any effect though I haven't messed with the finer voltages which are on auto
    more annoying is the fact that it will do the power up / power straight back off thing 2 or more times when switching on before staying on yet is completly stable when it's on, also it seems to have trouble with the time which keeps changing when powered off, bios battery is fine and I've cleared the bios several times including with the battery removed
    I'm putting the time and possibly the power up issues down to the bios version as it was fine on the old 1.6, but is there any other bios between 1.6 and 1.7b9 that would be better to use or shall I just go back to 1.6?
    also this Uefi "click" bios which seems rather secretive and mysterious, noticed that there is one available for the P45 platinum but there is absolutly no info on it, has anyone tried it and is it worth me trying it?

    Try:
    - DRAM Voltage = 2.1V
    - DDR_Reference Voltage Settings (Both): 0.9550V
    - Spread Spectrum = Disabled

    If you expect it to solve system and memory overclocking issues:  No.
    If you have no special needs for an UEFI Implementation (Software Wise): No.
    If you simply want to look at it and see how it works:  Well, go ahead.

  • P45 Platinum - Vista works just fine, but unable to get into BIOS

    This is my first build, so I'm still learning a lot. Be kind!
    I'm using the P45 Platinum with an Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz Wolfdale cpu, 2 2gb sticks 1066mhz G-Skill ram, a Corsair 750w PSU, EVGA Nvidia 8800GTS video card, a 74gb WD Raptor HDD and a 250gb WD Caviar HDD (both SATA). I'm currently running 32bit Vista until 64bit has more support.
    I have never been able to access the BIOS - before Vista was installed the splash screen was too fast so I kept missing my oppurtunity to enter BIOS, so I went ahead and put in the Vista install DVD. It installed just fine - it doesn't see my second HDD, but I expected that due to it being SATA.
    I want to enter the BIOS to disable the audio so I can download the new Realtek audio drivers (I have no sound, even after installing the driver off the CD), but when I start up the computer and hit DEL (when prompted), it takes me to the Windows Boot Manager. Several times I have repeated the process and every time it takes me to the boot manager instead of the BIOS. The BIOS is obviously working, I just can't access it.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Simply keep hitting  >DEL< as soon as the Splash screen appears.  If that doesn't help, clear CMOS with main A/C power cable removed from PSU.  Upon restart the system should hold with a CMOS Checksum error and give you the chance to hit F1 to enter BIOS Setup.  Now you can load "Optimized Defaults" and disable the BOOT LOGO.

  • P45 Platinum [MS-7512 PCB 1.x]: BETA & Performance BIOS Versions

    I will upload the latest Performance BIOS I could get my hand on.  Unfortunately, I cannot provide changelogs at this point.
    The BIOS is labeled A7512IMS.P0D and will appear as v25.0b13 on the POST Screen and in BIOS Setup. The BIOS was released on June 13th 2008.
    I have just flashed it on a P45 Platinum Board that I have here for testing and found that memory compatibility has somewhat improved.
    For those that are considering to give this BIOS a try:  remember, the risk is yours and yours alone!
    The archive contains the a flashing utility an can be used with the MSIHQ Forum USB Flashin tool (Method I):
    >>Use the MSI HQ Forum USB flasher<<
    /EDIT: I added the latest BETA-BIOS of the official BIOS series: A7512IMS.115.  It was released on June 13th as well.  Again, use this BIOS at your own risk and don't complain if anything goes wrong.

    Quote
    If the only versions that work with certain hardware combinations that are claimed to be compatible are Beta or Performance Versions then they should be available for public use
    Every official BIOS-Version is based on the preceding BETA-BIOS-Versions.  The Final A7512IMS.110-Release will be based on the preceding A7512IMS.11x-BETAs.  Sometimes, BETA-BIOS-Versions that have proven themselves are renamed and released as an official version.  So the changes will be made public at some point.  I uploaded the non-official versions precisely because they may be of help to others even though they are not available on official MSI Download Sites.

    I feel like a child who has been chastised for daring to question the standard "because I said so"
    I opened this thread to share (not necessarely stable) BETA-BIOS-Releases with users that are willing to test not officially released BIOS Versions and are aware of the risks involved.  Feedback (positive & negative) on system behaviour is welcome and in the best interest of everyone who has this board. The intention behind this is to offer alternatives to help users that have problems with official versions and to collect experience based information.
    I did not open this thread to discuss MSI's BIOS Release Policies (nobody here has any true influence on it and I am aware that it does not meet the wishes and expectations of every user) and I did not start this topic to talk about the experience different users have had with MSI Technical Support.  If you want to discuss these questions, open your own topic and if you have concrete suggestions that concern MSI policies and procedures, direct them to MSI directly (nobody here works for MSI).
    This said, I invite you to share your own experiences with specific BIOS Versions in this thread to provide information that may be helpful to other users.

    except in this case it is the child doing the chastising!
    If you want to insult me because you feel personally offended by the way I am trying to point out that I do not want to let this thread about specific BIOS Versions for the P45 Platinum mainboard be turned into a general discussion of what MSI should do to enhance individual customer satisfaction, please do that via PM and I will gladly respond.
    Now, back to topic:  I will post future Performance & BETA BIOS releases as soon as I get my hands on them.  So far, vP0D & v1.1b5 are the latest versions I had access to and I have no idea when there be further updates and at what point a final and official version can be expected.

  • P45 platinum gets stuck on Base and Extended Memory Test

    First my system specs:
    MB: P45 platinum
    CPU: Intel Core Duo Quad Q6600
    GPU: Nvidia Evga 8600 GTS 256MB
    RAM: 1x 1GB OCZ Nnvidia PC2 6400 dual channel 1x 2GB Corsair
    OS: Windows XP Pro sp3
    Well my current problem is that when i turn on my computer it gets stuck on Testing Extended and Base Memory according to the LED lights, sometimes if i wait it will start up the system and sometimes it wont, this has been happening for about a week. Also another thing that happens is that it blue screens me sometimes when its starting up and restarts not sure if this is a OS or a motherboard issue. Previously when it was doing the extended base memory test it would reset right there several times even before starting, when it does start i have no issues though, would really appreciate if anyone can help me with this, thanks before hand.

    If you got hang while trying to go into BIOS, it means that a hardware is failing depending on where it is stuck at. I suggest you hit esc key during bootup and see where the bootup hangs at.
    I have the splash screen disabled so can see exactly where its happening. Initialises USB devices, two beeps, then stops at end of memory count 4gb. The only other time it doesnt load is when my monitor doesnt kick in and the LED's stay on initializing video interface.
    After work today it took about 20 reboots to get it on. You can still input keyboard commands when it seems to halt, i shall describe:
    if you press 'del to enter setup' you get loading setup... (doesnt enter BIOS screen)
    or
    press 'f11 to load [something]'... (doesnt enter BIOS screen)
    The only other information I can give is a three letter/digit code on the bottom right of screen.
    I seem to have ruled out overclocking and BIOS versions as they still happen now I have controlled the factors (changed BIOS' and default non-overclock settings).
    This used to be very infrequent however is every time I boot up now. Like you say some hardware is failing, whether its a cable, psu or other component I just do not know...
    * also it seems to be happening to other users who have completely different hardware to me

  • P45 Platinum Q9550 boot/bios problem

    Guys,
    I've recently built a machine with a P45 Platinum board and Q9550 CPU. It has a Corsair 650w PSU, 4gb Corsair ram and a Samsung 1.5tb HDD. GPU is 2x Radeon HD4770 crossfire setup. I'm running Windows 7.
    The problem is, when I first boot the machine it starts up and then I get the windows 'blue screen' and it tries to reboot, but does the same thing over and over. If I press the the reset CMOS button it wil then boot fine, and will switch on and off fine all day, until the next morning, when it does the same thing over again.
    Any ideas anyone?

    Just quick add:-
    Bios is upto date?
    I was running bios 1.5, now updated to 1.6. I've also pulled the jumpers so the FSB runs at 400mhz and set the RAM settings to what the Corsair data sheet says for 1066Mhz, (5-5-5-15, 2.1v) and it seems to be stable. It shows 1067Mhz still though, but I'm guessing this is right?
    I'm not that mad for overclocking, but it seems happy at 3.4ghz, CPU temp is about 42 degrees.

    You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised the value of Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
