If you are referring to iTunes on your Computer... Right Click on the Apps in iTunes and Delete...
If you mean the iTunes Store... See Here...Hiding and Unhiding Purchases

  • How do I get rid of myself and other users and just be working from the hard drive?

    Hi all,
I know this sounds odd, but bear with me...
I've just bought a new Macbook pro 10.7.4, as my loved old one died. At the store they tranferred all my old info to the new one, but my problem is this: Now I am a user on my computer and there are options for shared users. That sounds confusing, but on my old computer it was just me using it. No sign in or log in, and when I opened my finder window everything was just there in the one bucket (my hard drive): library, apllications, programs, etc. Now I open my finder window and find duplicates of things in all places( i.e. things on my hard drive are also (or not, maddeningly, such as library) there, and then they are also in users or shared.) It is only ever me using my computer, so I don't need all this extra clutter everywhere, or have to go searching for things in different places. Old system was like opening a drawer and finding all your posessions neatly arranged in there, in the one place. Now i feel as though I walk into a room filled with cupboards and things are in some drawers that are also in others, and duplicated.
I apologise for my long rant, but I had to find a way to explain it!
Basically, I want to get rid of other user or shared options on my mac, and myself as a user, and just have the one system staright off the hard drive, no other log ins, but still obviously retain my permissions (password etc) for making changes or installing. Is this possible?

Well, you're going to have two Library folders - one for yourself and one for the System, but you can delete other users and you can enable automatic log-in for yourself using "Users and Groups" in System Preferences. No need to turn on Sharing or have any other users. You'll still need to make yourself an administrator, of course, but if you delete any other users, you delete their home folders, too.

  • How to get rid of the SAP BPC "three globes" startup screen?

    Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the SAP BPC "three globes" startup screen when we start BPC. I do not want it to pop up.
I looked at VBA behind the workbooks but could not find anything. Could not make the sheet invisible.
Is there a way to get rid of the screen? This is the screenshot

OK then, now v7sp03 for microsoft has hit the shelves, you can change the logo !!!
    It is quite easy.
Have the logo file ready in either BMP, GIF or JPG format.
Put it in your "Server Install -> DataWebFolders[Appset]" folder (so where you keep your files).
In ApplicationSet parameters, add the parameter COMPANY_LOGO and in the options type the name of the file you just put on the server.
Now if you restart BPC for Excel, the second excel page that pops up should be showing your new logo or graphic (mine did).
The use of the logo has been documented in the admin manual -> working with appset parameters
    Some tips.
I wanted not to clutter the filesystem so i put my logo in the appsetpublications folder and added the path accordingly in the parameter (so now it reads appsetpublicationslogoname.jpg instead of just logoname.jpg).
If you do not supply a name (only the parameter), your second Excel window (normally holding the graphic) will not appear. That could be an alternative too if you find that whole thing annoying.
Hope this helps you build great BPC apps,

  • How do I get rid of blank pdf windows that appear in mission control? My adobe acrobat program isn't even open.

Everytime I go into mission control I see blank pdf windows. I can't get rid of them except when I restart my computer. Otherwise I have to put them all into 1 desktop in mission control so they don't clutter my other desktops. The windows only appear in mission control and not in the actual active desktop. I've tried closing any open application that uses pdfs but that doesn't help. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

    Hi Bill,
I came to the problem this morning with a fresh perspective and have solved the problem: I realized the text was in Cambria, so I changed it to the dependable Times New Roman. I created the PDF and NO pound signs appeared scattered around in the PDF.
    Ay, fonts!

  • How to get rid of shadowed border around screen on MacBook Pro?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of this shadowed border on the screen of my macbook pro. I think my young daughter made it appear when she was striking various keys at random on my computer when I was not there. The cursor does not work when its over the shadow (i.e. will not depress the red 'x' button to exit a window and I have to drag window out from under shadow to close it).
It also appears in the middle of screen when airplay is turned on. (See screen shots below)
I have been unable to find any other discussion on this issue.
Above is screen normally and below is when airplay is turned on. Please help, thanks.

    Hi rose_hedley,
I'm wondering if you have restarted your computer by now and if that helped.
That border is from Exposé with Show Desktop enabled (F11).

  • How to get rid of iCal Alias popup screen on reboot?

Every time I reboot my computer an iCal Alias pop up screen appears that is full of jumbled text like:

I always just X out of it.
What is this?  Why is it suddenly appearing every time I reboot (it's been doing this for the last few months but never did it before that)?
Most importantly, how can I get rid of this permanently?
    If it makes any difference I'm running a 2008 20" iMac with OS X 10.9.4 and Calendar v. 7.0.

  • Each window that I open stays open on the screen. How can I get rid of this "tiling"?

On an iMac G4 with OS 10.4.11, recently each window I open stays on the screen when I open files within them. This creates what I think is called "tiling." I must have given an erroneous command, and I don't know how to get rid of it.  I hope someone can help.

Are you referring to Finder windows? Those are akin to Explorer windows on a PC.
If so, it is normal for them to stay open on the desktop when you open a file they display. If you mean they open a new window and clutter the desktop with tons of open windows, there is a fix for that.
Click once on the desktop so you are using Finder. On the top left, click "Finder - Preferences" Uncheck the box next to "Always open folders in a new window"
    The change is immediate.
    Hope that helps.

  • Getting rid of TM

    Hello all,
I do a manual back up every week using SuperDuper!
When I switched to Leopard, I found out that my internal HD has quite much less free space than it would normally have, had I not tried Leopard first on my external to see whether I liked it or not (BTW, I do not like it as much as I like OS X Tiger, but problems with a new internal HD forced me to switch.)
With Leopard installed on the internal, TM started to gobble up disk space on my external HD, so I stopped its function.
I actually do not need TM and want to get rid of whatever it has backed up but, I'm not allowed to do so; I get an alert saying that backed up files are protected and cannot be deleted.
Is there a way to permanently get rid of them?
    Thank you all, regards.

    Pondini wrote:
Are you sure the extra space taken up on your internal HD is really stuff that's needed? If not, see [Where did my Disk Space go?|http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/DiskSpace.html]
    Hi Pondini,
It seems to me after having taken a look at the web pages you indicate (#E6 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting, and the ones referenced therein) there is no back up: this is what the +Time Machine Buddy+ widget said booting from the internal HD:
    +Starting standard backup+
    +Backing up to: /Backups.backupdb+
    +Nothing to backup.+
    +Backup failed with error: 25+
And this is what I get when booting from the external HD:
    +No Time Machine information found+
I believe both results are right since I had stopped using TM. So, the logical conclusion is: it is OSX 10.5.8 what gobbles so much HD space, even without getting any help from TM.
The only reason why I switched to Leopard is, back at the end of last year I had to take my iMac for repair at Tekserve —a very reliable Mac specialist and retailer in New York City— because things started to go wrong ([here|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2765667&tstart=0]; and prior to that, [this one|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2585452&tstart=0].)
I was told the HD had to be replaced but, problems persisted even after replacing it, so I had to take it back to Tekserve.
The HD was replaced once more and most of the problems disappeared but not all, such as beach ball whenever opening an application, or a big folder, and even right at booting without the finder open yet.
I went back to Tekserve and discussed the situation with one of their technicians, a very helpful guy who asked me why didn't I switch to Leopard since it was much more stable. I told him that the main reason was, I would have to spend thousands of dollars replacing all applications that are not universal. He told me that I didn't have to do it with Leopard, that it was required only with Snow Leopard. And he gave me a Leopard install DVD to try the system.
I did try Leopard on the external HD during a full month and only on the external HD, so that if I didn't like it I could still revert to Tiger by cloning back the internal.
To tell the truth, I did not like everything Leopard has to offer. In the first place, it looks and behaves too much like windows; then, spotlight is not as user friendly as with Tiger's; folders seem to reproduce themselves like rabbits every time one trashes a file contained therein (a new window repeats what the old one has to the dot); dashboard's behavior is not comparable to Tiger's; and some other issues there is no point listing them all here.
Other than these, the computer works well, almost perfectly well except the beach ball which resists disappearing; lots of problems with entourage, but this is something that is dependent on microsoft's applications, not on the computer itself. Got rid of entourage and switched to using Apple's mail instead.
Many folks would say, a single backup, especially a weekly one, is not enough, especially with a Mac that old. All hardware fails, sooner or later, and while it's not common, we do see threads here where an internal HD or other failure has required a full restore but the backup drive failed, and everything was lost.
I want to use my Mac as I use my car: I take it regularly up to the shop for maintenance; keep everything in order checking tire pressure, radiator coolant, battery, etc. I don't want to have either my car or my Mac using me as their serf, doing what they want me to do. In the case of the Mac, all I want is to use it as a sophisticated typewriter, with the additional ability to surf the Internet, find articles, photographs, works of art, music, literature that I need or just want. Then, I store it all on the HD and use them as needed to make my own make my own drawings and pictures, etc. which, in turn, get to be stored on the HD. I regularly backup the internal to an external clone that I can boot from in case of need.
Your best bet is to get a second external HD, move the non-backup data to it, and use the existing one exclusively for Time Machine. Leave it connected, and let Time Machine do it's quick automatic hourly backups of changes to both your internal HD and the other external. That way, if either backup drive fails, you're not out of luck. Plus, if you accidentally change or delete something, or a file suddenly turns up corrupted, you have a much better chance of recovering a previous version.
I already have two external HDs; one more will add to the clutter of cables and power cords, etc. that is already asking for more space that I can't afford.
But if you don't want to to that . . .
Are the backups in the same partition as your other stuff? If they're on a separate partition, you can just erase it with Disk Utility. That will take a few seconds.
The external FW-HD which would have been used for TM, and which I use for my regular backups has only one partition.
If not, it gets more difficult. Your best bet is to copy the other data elsewhere temporarily, erase the disk, then copy it back.
The problem is, I don't know where the data you refer to could be; as I said above, there were no backups. It must then be just the amount of space Leopard takes up.
I am simply a mortal; if I have to become an expert like you and so many others in the forums are in order to be able to use my iMac, I'd better give it up...
If that's not practical, you should be able to delete the Backups.backupdb folder that contains your backups. You may have to do that while logged-on as an Admin user, and enter your Admin password. Be aware, though, that emptying the trash will take a very long time, and there may be problems with locked files, etc. If so, see #E6 in [Time Machine - Troubleshooting|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/Troubleshooting.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
I am the only user of my iMac and, I believe, am its administrator since every time an admin password is required, the powers that be accept the one I type.
In conclusion, TM is not working; it is Leopard who is the hungry fellow; am I right?
Does this mean I must go to a 1TB minimum internal and external HDs?
Thank you so much for your help; best regards.
