Getting rid of gaps in iMovie 09 file import

When I import a project from DV to iMovie 09, how do I get rid of the gaps put there between clips by iMovie? I don't want any gaps as my DV already has the finished cut of the project.

I'm having a similar problem. Back in my PC days, I edited an entire project on Pinnacle Studio Ultimate HD. Exported the entire 71 minutes movie back on HDV tape. Now I have my Macbook Pro, and am trying to import the finished product into iMovie so I can tinker a bit with it, and ultimately burn it using iDVD. Yet when I import off my Canon Vixia HV30, all of the clips are completely rearranged with annoying gaps in between where one clip begins and ends. How do I change the settings to simply import the HDV as is? I really don't want to have to drag every clip into my timeline and then rearrange them all into the original order.

How do I get rid of the Not Using SoftArtisan File UP notice that is slowing down my uploads to class where I teach? A notice now appears every time I upload an image to class as an attachment that says, Not Using SoftArtisan File UP, and this appears to be slowing down my uploads tremendously. I want to get rid of this. I never used it before and don't need it and don't want it. I just want the uploads to work like they did before this idiotic notice started slowing things down.

  • [SOLVED] Can't get rid of a wine-polluted text file icon [KDE]

    Hello folks,
For some reason, my KDE system likes to use a Wine program based icon for all text files when I'm using a Faenza theme. The problem occurs only for my user (not root) so I think this is an user-specific issue.
I've already checked .local/share/icons folder for matching icon images. I found one which was named "text-plain.png", being equally the same "W-space" icon image as shown in the picture below. Thus I removed this png file from all necessary subfolders (22, 24, 32, 48...), so as far as I can think, there should not be any traces for the old icon image left. I've already re-checked all folders which I think are relevant to the issue. In addition, I've updated icon cache by using gtk-update-icon-cache and kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental commands. However, the system seems to disagree with me and the annoying icon appears still in text file icons.
The problem appears practically like in the following picture:
W-space icon image is very likely related to Adobe Photoshop which I've installed on my PlayonLinux installation (.PlayonLinux/wineprefix/photoshop). I still don't understand by which logic the system decides to use this W-space image for text files.
I wonder if I need to take further steps to get rid of this annoying icon. Am I missing something? All I want is that KDE would use basic Faenza icon for text files. Any hints are welcome!
    Thank you!

Allright, this was, after all, a very simple issue. As expected.
I simply removed file /var/tmp/kdecache-fincer/icon-cache.kcache, rebooted the system and all icons are fine now.
    Topic marked as solved.

  • How do i get rid of grayed out EXPORT IN FILE on PSE 12? I am trying to export a panoramic photo file.

I am trying to export a panoramic photo file in PSE 12. but EXPORT under file is grayed out, how do i get rid of it being grayed out?

    Hi,
This is a follow up to the dialog about "exporting" files back to LR5 after adjusting in PSE12.
In simple terms, as I am no expert at all, just a long time film photo pro always struggling with the digital technology, even though it is great to use, here is what I need to accomplish.
After transferring raw files from LR5 and creating a panoramic image file in PSE12,  which shows on my editor next to the several files i created it from. Is it possible to send the newly created panorama file back to LR5 so I could use the print module there. If so, how, what steps need be taken.
Thank you for your help, I am in no rush, and am very appreciative of your imput.
    Carl
My overall aim it to create the finest quality panoramic print for exhibition.

  • Getting rid of gap  between title banner image  and Spry Menu bar?

    Hi,
    Here's what I have so far :
    http://www.artbywaqas.com/TEST/index.html
How can I get rid of the gap between the banner image and the menu below it?

Please explain, what is the center element as in line 43 with the closing tag on line 94?
Also, wrapping the banner image in a paragraph element ensures that you will have a margin and/or padding above and below the element unless you specifically change the style rules to eleminate the marging and/or padding.
The quickest solution is to remove the center element (which does not exist) and change the paragraph elemnt to a div element.

  • How do I get rid of letterboxing in iMovie 9?

I just imported some clips from my camera, and found that iMovie 9 automatically letterboxed them.
    I don't want them letterboxed!
I should add that I was using an older camcorder.  What is weird is that with my previous newer camera, I never got the letterboxing in iMovie 9.
Now it seems that using the older camera has somehow activated a letterboxing feature.
How do I turn that feature off?   I couldn't find anything about letterboxing under iMovie 9 preferences.  Thanks.

Turns out that it's the camera's fault.  This is a very old camera and its default is letter-box, which it terms "Cinematic."   You can get rid of it, but then you just end up with a square aspect ratio.

  • How do I get rid of gaps between songs??

    Hi,
I am trying to record a mix CD into iTunes but there are gaps between songs.
I know that you can take these gaps out by making the CD into one long track on your ipod, but is there anyway I can get rid of the gaps and keep them as seperate tracks, like on the CD?

In the burning options, change the time between tracks from two seconds to zero seconds.

  • Trouble getting rid of gap under navigation (SS Provided)

I am creating a page from scratch and I used the Insert
navigation option. Now there is a gap under my nav buttons. As you
can see, In dreamweaver it looks fine. Exactly how I want it to be.
But when I hit F12 to preview in browser I get this lil gap under
my nav that throws off the look of the site. Anyone know how to
    remove it?
Here is it looking correctly in dreamweaver:
    http://www.geocities.com/coreysnyder042/ss4.jpg
Here is it looking wrong in web browser:
    http://www.geocities.com/coreysnyder042/ss3.jpg

All of my buttons are the exact same height. It is not
larger. I just put a grey area above the other buttons. This
allowed me to have the page the user is browsing to have a "lifted"
    or "selected" feature.
I am not sure what you were trying to say in your message
BTW. There is no refresh button in my dreamweaver properties panel
so I'm not sure what your talking about.

  • I have iMovie '11, and I am unable to access mpeg HD video files that I want to edit.  The files are fine (I can open and watch them using VLC), but I cannot seem to import the files into iMovie. File Import does not work.  Any suggestions??

More detail: I have a bunch of mpeg HD video files that were shot on a SONY HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder.  I would like to edit these into a single video production.  I can access and view the mpeg files using VLC (Quicktime does not work with them).  However, I seem to be unable to get the mpeg files to interface with iMovie '11 -- I cannot use the File --> Import command, nor can I drag-and-drop them into iMovie.
Is there something anyone might suggest to get this to work?  Or are these files incompatible with iMovie?  If so, I assume I must purchase a different video editing software program (e.g. Adobe Premeir Pro).  Suggestions???
Many thanks in advance for your time and consideration

Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time  from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation?  Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.
        Thanks

  • I have absolutely no use for "Events" in iPhoto: can I get rid of this concept? I am importing photos maybe one or a dozen times a day and cannot avoid creating a new event each time. Or can I?

As my long question implies (sorry, should have kept it shorter) I have a problem with being forced to have Events in my iPhoto'11 9.2.3 (629.52) on my MacBook 10.6.8. My habit is to unload the camera constantly, whether I have taken a single shot or a whole series. Each new addition creates an Event which actually bothers me!
Is there a way of avoiding this? If I erase an event from iPhoto the photos will disappear from the Library it seems ... Please help with your advice. Thanks! Sigrid.

    Thanks, OT!
When I look at my odd(?) habits of dealing with iPhoto anyone will see that I have a very simplistic approach: I never let one single Library get bigger than 300 or 400 photos, then back it up as is and make a separate, manual backup of the different albums as named by myself on an external HD. Then I delete the Library as such from my Mac but can reinstate it from the backups as I please. The backups are properly labelled, of course.
I get dizzy when I read about libraries of thousands of photos, of keywords, ratings, smart albums etc. because this just wouldn't apply to my so-called system. So instead of using Faces and Places, my album names show clearly what's in them - "skies and scenery" Euskadi, "bugs and birds at Fancourt", "inventories", "people" (separate for my circle of people and characters from media), "my dog" etc., usually a bunch of 20 albums or so depending on my whereabouts. Quite manageable!
I've been doing just fine with this method and would recommend it ... but others are much brighter ;-) and use the offered (and to me too advanced) features of iPhoto, if they prefer these. Now that I know how to get rid of Events by merging them into one, I at least feel a little freer there.
Well, it's 1:25AM my time, gotta go ...

  • How to get rid of empty lines in a file?

How can read a file "text.txt", delete all the empty lines and restore it to same filename "text.txt" without using a temporary file?

Ages ago I ruined an 8" floppy disk drive by doing something similar to
this: let b1 b2 ... bn nl be a series of blanks followed by a newline
character (nl) and let c1 ... cm be a sequence of other characters. Let
    the total relevant sequence be:
    b1 b2 ... bn nl c1 ... cm
Reverse the entire sequence: cm ... c1 nl bn ... b2 b1 and then
reverse the first m bytes: c1 cm nl bn ... b2 b1. Now repeat the entire
thing for the sequence c1 ... cm by checking for more blank lines in it.
After this has all finished, simply truncate the file.
The advantage of this method was that I only needed to be able to swap
two bytes in a file; the disadvantage was that the floppy disk drive
    couldn't handle it ;-)
    kind regards,
    Jos
