Getting Rid of Holiday music

Anyone know if/when Apple will remove the holiday music from my front page. I'd love to see some suggestions - but since I bought about 30 holiday tracks half my suggestions are holiday related. Holiday is also appearing as one my preferred catageories up top.
I'd love to be able to filter out holiday music. It's really annoying.

You could make a playlist of all of your songs. (I'm assuming you will recognize all of the things you added to the library and be able to pull them into a playlist.) Then when you want to listen to things, you can click on this playlist and when you want to sync things to an iPod (assuming you have things set to update manually) you could sync only this playlist to your iPod.
(As an older mother who likes all of the music in our household in one library, I'm not sure why this is a big problem. Don't you like knowing all the songs your family owns? Won't this prevent duplicate purchases?)

You want all music on your iPhone removed from the iPhone?
If so and you have Sync Music selected under the Music tab or setting for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, deslect Sync Music under the Music tab or setting for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync.

I had music on my i tunes that I deleted.  When I sync my iphone the music that was deleted shows up.  How do I get rid of the music I do not want on my iphone?

Connect your I-phone to i-tunes , click on music . Not the one in the library but the music that opened up when you connected to i-tunes . Highlight the complete album or songs you want deleted, then right click and delete. Once you deleted the songs off you i-phone, then click the music from the library of your i-tunes. If that same music or album is also in there then repeat what you did in the i-phone to delete . This should take it all out.
    good luck

  • Getting rid of icloud music (not just hiding it)

so, I just bought a new car with Bluetooth music capabilities. I was very excited to have a small selection of music to be able to select from, and I actually added music to my phone for the first time. My issue, is that on the car's screen, I am seeing all the music I had purchased from icloud previously. I would like to remove these, but I cannot figure out how. These songs showing up are not on my phone, and are not on my itunes library.
    what I have tried:
i have done everything I can to hide t he music. I've switched the selection on iTunes and AppStore to not show all music. When I look at my library on the phone, it only has what I had added. The things NOT on the phone are still showing in my car.
i went onto iTunes on my computer, and clicked on the little x to hide all the things that had been purchased. This works on the iTunes Store, but the items still appear when pairing the phone to the car.
the one thing I haven't done yet is sign out from iTunes on the phone, which I have read works. I feel there should be a better way to do it though. it seems this would only be a temporary solution, because as soon as I sign in again, the music would come back.
If anyone has a way to get rid of this music, it would be very much appreciated.

I don't claim bigger insight into how apples servers work but if I were to make iCloud music then rather then having a copy of each music number to give people who buy it and then store the very same data for every single one of users who bought it then I would keep the data 1 place and handle iCloud music streaming by controlling who could access the 1 place the music file was stored if that was the case then if you deleted it it would be gone for everybody forever

  • How do I get rid of the music I didn't transfer to my iphone?

I had a certain playlist synced to my phone, since the new update absolutely everything in my library shows up on my phone.  The only thing about the new version I can't stand.  How do I get rid of the music I don't want on my phone?

if you are seeing a cloud symbol next to the rogue tracks, settings/itunes & app store then turn off show all music & video
then go to settings/music and check that 'show all music' is turned off - this solved my problems

  • I just upgraded iTunes to version 11, how do I get rid of shared music on my computer?

I have two computers in my house: my dad's, which is basically the family computer, and my personal one. I just upgraded iTunes to 11 only to find all the music on his computer is on mine as well, even though it wasn't there before. All of these new things have little cloud icons in the corner. I really don't want this stuff on my iTunes, but I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I've tried deleting it to no avail, and I can't find any way to turn off the Cloud sharing. Is there any fix for this, or will I just have to downgrade to 10.7?

  • HT1481 How do I get rid of my music on my ipod shuffle and re enter new songs?

How do I get rid of old songs on my ipod shuffle and re enter new songs??

This is document lists the four iPod shuffle models and the ways to sync music to the shuffle.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1719
The way you remove songs depends on the model (1st and 2nd gen versus 3rd and 4th gen), and the method being used to add songs.  I don't know your specifics (please provide), I'll go with one possibility...
You have a 4th (current) gen shuffle and you use the manual method to load the shuffle, by dragging songs to the shuffle from your iTunes library in iTunes (or using the Autofill feature). If that is your shuffle model and how you load it...
First, in the latest iTunes, the sidebar can be hidden.  To show it, go up to the menu bar, under View, and select Show Sidebar.
To remove songs, select the shuffle in the sidebar, under DEVICES.  "Drop down" its content list, which is indented below the iPod.  Click on Music there.  Over to the right, you see a list of songs currently on the shuffle.  Select the song you want to remove, and hit the Delete key on keyboard.  Confirm action.  You can do this with one song, a selection of songs, or the entire list (by selecting Select All from the File menu).
If you have a 1st or 2nd gen shuffle, or you use automatic syncing (not manual loading or Autofill), please post back.

  • How to get rid of dupe music icons on iPhone, one with cloud, one without?

After getting a replacement iPhone, restoring from backup, and re-syncing, I have dupe entries for every song on the phone.  One has a cloud icon and one doesn't.  These weren't there before!  What happened, and how can I get rid of all these dupes (there are thousands)?
-- I don't see dupes in my library, nor on my iPad, nor in "On This iPhone" from iTunes... just on the phone itself.
-- The dupes exist even after syncing.
-- I tried deleting all music storage on the phone and re-syncing, but I still wind up with dupes, one with the cloud and one without.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

unsync the music from the phone. the songs with clouds are 'itunes in the cloud' which you download from the cloud server
the reason you don't see them in 'on this iphone' is that they're not technically on the phone nor are they taking up capacity yet
when you unsync your music, the songs with clouds should remain. you download them by tapping the clouds

  • How can I get rid of shared music off my i phone

My son and I both have music from I tunes stored on our computer at home.  Ever since the IOS7 update, his music is now on my I phone and my music is on his I Pad. How do we get rid of them?

Thanks.  I have been using the built-in battery monitor as well as the application manager.  It helps seeing the processes that are chewing away at your phone's RAM and battery, but at this point, it's not even helpful anymore.
I don't think 'Samsung.Settings' is something I can disable on my phone and that is what's hogging up 80% of my phone's resources.  (Fresh boot and all)
What really irks me is that I've never signed up to be a BETA tester for Samsung which is basically what we all are doing... Factory reset, remove all apps, add each app back individually, find what app(s) are causing the problems, etc.
No - this should have been vetted out long before they decided to push out an OS update that has no backward motion of loading the previous OS...
    <Rant off>

  • How can I get rid of background music on Safari

There is a backgrund music on my Safari and I cannot get rid of it ... Please help

That must be the websites you're viewing, and not Safari itself.
Doesn't your keyboard have mute, volume down, and volume up keys (as F10, F11 and F12 ?)
And BTW: this is the forum for the Mac Pro, not the MacBook Pro...

  • How can I get rid of the music that plays when people call me?

I get complaints about the music that plays when people call me. They expect  a tone that indicates a ringing phone and get frustrated with the music.
How do i change from the automatic music to a ring tone? Thanks-

I read this OP's post better then I did that other one from this morning.
I am not crazy about those that have ringback tones on their phones.  It is a good thing that no one I call has one any more.

  • Getting rid of "My Music" folder

I want all my music in a folder labeled "Music", NOT "My Music", with the iTunes folder as a separate folder (I don't want the music files in the iTunes folder). If I delete the "My Music" folder or rename it to "Music", iTunes recreates it with a blank library. How do I make iTunes store its library where I want it?
Holding down Shift while opening iTunes does nothing.
I had it set up the way I wanted it for a while, but I had trouble with the folder settings and had to rename and copy some things, and now I can't get iTunes to cooperate again.

I didn't see this thread before posting a similar question.
If there isn't already a way, Apple should modify the behavior of iTunes and allow you to choose an explicit library location. I know a lot of people don't want to use C:\My Documents\My Music\iTunes as the default location.
Even though you can tell iTunes that you want to use an alternate location for your music files, it still uses the default location to store the database and it attempts to use the default location if your alternate location is unavailable (i.e. an external disk.)
I want iTunes to display an error when my external disk is unavailable instead of attempting to use it's default location. I don't think I should have to leave my external disk powered on all the time just so iTunes doesn't try to use it's default location.
It seems like such a simple programming fix and yet I have no confidence that Apple will ever change this behavior.
