Getting rid of picture behind toolbar

There is a pretty picture behind the toolbar I want to get rid of because I can't read the tiny icons....how frustrating trying to figure out someone to answer this seemingly stupid question....

Sounds that you installed a Persona.
You can uninstall your current Persona and revert to the Default theme (Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
    Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist

Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.

  • Can someone tell me the steps to get rid of the Yahoo toolbar. I have gmail and the right homepage , and when I updatede Firefox I said I didn't want the Yahoo toolbar, but it is there anyway and I don't know how to get rid of it.

I just want to get rid of the **** Yahoo toolbar! If not, I want to go back to the previous version of Firefox. Can someone help me with the steps to do either one of these, Please!!!

I just figured out how to remove it. Go to the Tools menu and select add-ons. Click on extensions, locate Yahoo Toolbar in the list, and off to the right, you can click on "Disable" or "Remove." I disabled, restarted Firefox 4.0, and bingo, no annoying Yahoo toolbar. Hope this helps!

  • How do I get rid of the new toolbar that was added by versions 20 and 21?

I have tried both versions 20 and 21 and both have the bugs below so I ended up having to re-install version 19:
1.) Versions 20 and 21 add a new toolbar that has nothing but a "Firefox" button on it - and no way to get rid of this toolbar is provided. It wastes far too much space on my laptop's screen - that button should have been put on one of the other toolbars or simply made part of the icon set that users can use to customize their menubar or other toolbars.
2.) That new toolbar is not customizable. Hence, I don't have the option of recovering screen space by moving everything from my menubar onto the new toolbar then hiding the menubar.
3.) The back, forward, and stop|reload buttons on my menubar no longer work. Moving them back to the navigation toolbar and showing that toolbar does not solve the problem. Nor can I right-click on a web page and select those functions from the context menu: they are permanently disabled there too.
4.) I can no longer right click on the menubar or a toolbar and get a context menu from which you I can pick a "customize" option - I can't get a context menu AT ALL. In order to customize things for versions 20 or 21, I first have to reinstall version 19, do the customizations, then reinstall version 20 or 21.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • How can I get rid of the personal toolbar which is always displayed

    Hi,
Just migrated from xp to win 8.1 on a new computer.
In the process of cleaning up my firefox bookmarks and personal bookmark folder I must have done a wrong manipulation.
My personal bookmark bar is now always visible across the top of the screen.
I just don't want this and want to get rid of that continuous display. What did I do wrong and how can I mend this?
    Thank you in advance,
    LL

    Hi,
You can hide that by following:
    *Click the orange Firefox button
*Go to View > Toolbars > and uncheck ''Bookmarks Toolbar''

  • How do i get rid of the Yahoo toolbar?

Aster using Firefox for the last two years, I had to uninstall and reinstall it after downloading the latest version. Surprise, there is the ever-present Yahoo toolbar following me everyplace I go like a faithful dog.
How do I get rid of it and use Google when I do a search? When getting to a new website from my homepage, I want a new tab to come up for me to type the new address. If I cannot do this, the whole tab concept has gone out of the window. I should not have to go to a Yahoo search tool that in many cases what I see in the search results has nothing to do with the website I want to go to.
    Help!

The help page for REFRESH FireFox needs more info.
    1. By refreshing Firefox the new or default profile does not guarentee that the add-ons are all up to date or not vulnerable.
    2. It would be really nice if FireFox would give users advice on browsing safely.
    3. Do not click on pop-ups anywhere on the screen and to use Windows Task Manager instead.
    4. Only update from the program that you are updating not from pop-ups!!!
    My story:
I do not like to have updates automatically installed. Reason, it depends on what I am doing on the internet and how
much time I have if I will install an update and there are other reasons... Because I unplug the Ethernet cable from my
laptop whenever I am not on the internet. And I do update programs. I have been learning to more about using FireFox safely.
    Reason why I used REFRESH
I unthinkingly clicked on a pop-up at the right bottom of the screen over the tool bar.
It is now common that microsoft places update info in pop-ups at that same location. So I got used to it and I clicked on
a Fire Fox update. Well it was from Yahoo publisher with file named sxh.yimg.com. A very persistant Yahoo! toolbar
appeared in the main menu. And the address bar was redirected to - www.datatoolbar.com - an online data miner with yahoo
in the address. I have gone through a lot of uninstalls, deleting Mozilla File Folders in User/Roaming and Local to get
rid of this but it persisted. REFRESH did work, but one or two add-ons were vulnerable and I went through a 3 hour crash
    yesterday.

  • Can't Get Rid of Shadows Behind icons.

I left my imac on last night without sleep mode so that the linux would do any self repairs needed. In the past I have done that with success. Normaly the screensaver comes on during the period in which I've turned off the sleep mode. For some reason the screesaver never came on. When I awoke this morning I have an annoying shadow in the form of a square or rectangular box behind every icon on my screen, including the dock and also behind the cursor. The shadows are made up of small vertical black lines in rows of 6.  Is there anything I can do to get rid of these shdadows?

I've gone through Firefox's instructions, I've gone through the control panel, I even uninstalled flash player. But Yahoo is still there. I want it gone! How do I get rid of it???

  • How do I get rid of a yahoo toolbar & get my origional Firefox one back.

Somehow I allowed a Yahoo toolbar to be downloaded on my Firefox program & it has changed all my settings. How can I get rid of it a have the default Firefox toolbar back. Thank you.

Are you really running the ancient OS 8.6?
The following guidance, whilst not exactly for your toolbar, seems to work with others, so worth a try:
If you are running Tiger or Leopard:
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
    Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    Library/Application support/conduit plugins
    Also, as mentioned by Gilli2000:
Library/Receipts - If you read it, it has information in it at the bottom referring extensively to "CT" and "community toolbar".
Maybe it is harmless, but trash those items anyway!
    If you are running Lion:
From the Finder Menu bar, select Go ▹ Go to Folder, and in the box that opens write:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Delete the second item if it is there.
Now select Go to Folder again and enter  /Library
From the folder that opens, delete the following items if they are there (you may need your login password):
    Application Support/Conduit
    InputManagers/CTLoader
    LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
then close the folder. Now select Go to Folder again and write: /Applications/Toolbars
Delete that item and close the Finder windows you opened. Log out then log back in, and you should be rid of it.
Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.
