Getting rid of songs that have an "!"

I changed the location of my ITunes folder and once I did that it found a number of songs that could not be located. The new folder location has all the songs I own so I would like to get rid of all the songs that have the "!" next to them in a fast and efficient way. I can not sort by just the column that has the "!" otherwise it would be easy to remove them all at once. I could have sworn I have done this before. If anyone has a good way of removing songs that can not be found please let me know. Thanks.

Settings/ Music/ Show All Music/ OFF
There is a parallel setting in Settings/ Videos/ which also includes Videos in the cloud, as well as Settings/ iTunes & App Store/ where you can set both Music and Video preferences. But you only need to change a setting in one location.

You copy them from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
The iphone is not a backup/storage device.

It sounds like you may need to hide these purchases in the iTunes Store in order to prevent them from displaying on the Apple TV. Take a look at the article below for more information.

I have the same problem and I am very upset. I have heard that Apple/iTunes is removing all songs that are unlicened for this type of download. Apple does not want to be responsible for pirated music. Much of mine is down loaded from CD's. I have to go to search and put in every song and then, if found, put it into My Music then back into iTunes. WHAT A HASSLE. I don't remeber reading anything about this. 224 songs so far. NOT HAPPY.

Assuming that you synced the photos from iTunes - or whatever downloaded means - you must use iTunes again in order to remove the songs from the iPad. You have to uncheck the albums in the photos folder that you sync from in the Photos tab of iTunes and follow that with a sync.

Like whenever I want to delete a song from my phone, it shows the icloud sign. When I shuffle the music, it will still play the song. I think there must be a bug somewhere. Some songs I can delete and they disappear. But none of my attempts to remove the Justin Timberlake song from Apple's 12 days of gifts have gotten me very far. I can 'delete' it so that it is listed as needing to be downloaded again. But it seems to be just marked as deleted. If I turn off 'Show all music' in my Settings, the song remains there, but no longer has the cloud icon beside it, but also will not swipe to show the delete button. If I turn 'Show all music' back on, the cloud icon reappears. Regardless the song will play, even in airplane mode. So it is clearly still on my iPad.
I have tried resetting my iPad - changes nothing. Apple seems determined that we keep this song!
Also, since I attempted to delete the song immediately after it downloaded, it doesn't appear on my iMac iTunes synch page. So I can't try to get rid of it that way.
Very frustrating.

Hello why cant we store more then 25,000 songs that have been uploaded in the Icloud from my cd's, I'm a DJ and the purpose of getting the Icloud was not only for backup but to have access to all my music and this 25,000 song limit is not acceptable for me. I also upgraded my icloud drive to 200gb in hope that this would help, did it? I dont know as of yet, I just did it any thoughts out there??

Can't play songs that have a "old" account name?

i have a number of songs that have different account names.... some have my user name and then some have my user name plus "@.mac.com" at the end of the name... the ones without the @mac.com will not play? any ideas?

I'd suggest you start a new topic with your issue (use the "Post a new topic" link at the top of each main topic page). It's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. Other people have been having similar problems with songs over a number of days.
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting it from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

You can view tracks in a given format by selecting to show the Kind column. If you mean you want to determine which specific MP3 tracks you have that were converted by iTunes as opposed to being imported in MP3 format, Get Info on a track and look at the "encoded with" field.

Here's how iTunes works. You add a file to iTunes. iTunes makes a note of where that file is located, gets information from it about artist, etc, and writes the information to its library file. iTunes doesn't look at that file again until you play it. It knows where to find it when it needs it. However, sometimes things happen so the file is no longer where iTunes expects it to be. In many cases this is because the user has renamed a file or folder in the file's pathway, or moved the file. In extreme cases it can happen because a hard drive is dying.
When iTunes invites you to find the file, it is asking you to do exactly that. If you renamed the file you need to remember what you called it and where you put it and point to it to rebuild the link. Sometimes if people move all their files to different drive you need to point to one and iTunes may be able to find others given that information and assumptions as to where the others should be located relative to that.
It is also possible files have gone missing. In that case you need to restore them from their original source or a backup you make regularly of your computer knowing that some day it is 100% guaranteed your drive will fail and you will be very happy you have a copy of everything on another drive.
