Getting rid of Waves Plugin Demos

I downloaded Waves Diamond demo and tried it out. It didn't float my boat and I let it expire. Now if I accidently click on the Waves demos, Logic crashes. I want to totally get rid of the plugin demos. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Go to /Library/Audio/Components/Plug-ins and drag all of the Waves items to the trash. Make sure you also remove the WaveShell-AU component (same directory). That will fix your Logic issue.
There will also be a Waves directory in your Applications folder; you can trash that too if you want to completely remove everything.

I installed Snow Leopard. At some point in the past I must have had Growl installed. Every time I start Mail I the following message:

Mail has disabled the following plug-ins:
GrowlMail

Growl was not installed when I installed SL. I did, download, and reinstall it in hopes that uninstalling it would get rid of the plugin. That didn't work.
Since SL does not have a "Don't show this message again" button I'm stuck with this every time I open Mail.
I have searched high and low for this 'plugin'. There are no visible signs or folders of Growl on my HD.
Any suggestions how to find the file or disable the message?

quit mail and go to the folder /users/username/library/mail. delete the folders with the name like Bundles (Disabled) (there may be more than one such folder). start Mail and you should not see this message. also check in the folder Bundles in the mail folder and if Growl is in the in there, delete that too.

How can I get rid of Shockwave plugin has stopped working hangup?

Hi, my first time here in your forum. I am constantly getting the "Shockwave plugin is busy or has stopped responding error message every time I go to this website: Forum - The NewsTalkers
and randomly at many others. IT is extremely annoying, as I often have to close out of my browser entirely in order to get out of the hang up. And it makes no difference what browser I am using, it does it in FireFox 33.1 and IE11. I am using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, SP1.
How do I stop this endless error? The only way it seems to stop is if I uninstall Flash player, and then a lot of other stuff won't work.
So I hope someone here has an answer that will help get rid of this error.

I downloaded and installed the DEMO for Arturia Brass 2.0 and a Moog vst. The trial period had expired and I couldn't load my Logic9 song anymore. So, I tried to delete the Arturia demos from my computer. Now, the song will not open, as it freezes during the load process?HELP please. How can I rid my computer of the Arturia stuff. Thanks.

To remove the offending plugin from your project, start Logic and immediately hold down Control whilst Logic is booting. THis will give you the option not to load the Core Audio drivers, such that the project will open, but no audio will work. Remove the plugins from the project, then re-save. Re-start Logic normally and you should be good to go.
To remove the plugins from the system completely, go to Library:Audio:PlugIns:Components and delete the offending plugs.

How to get rid of extra plugins tab on Firefox 3.6 startup

After a no-error crash Firefox 3.6 came back with extra tab. Tried every listed method could find but this tab could not be stopped from coming up when starting the program.
Help.
Don't want to upgrade!!! Everything was working fine until this. I changed nothing. Was working when all of a sudden it disappeared - no warning, no error message. When restarted instead of coming up with the usual list of tabs to restore, it came up in a new tab with a list of plug-ins it wanted me to update.
Would like to get back to where it was before crash. Some of the plug-ins can't be upgraded and were fine before this happened.
I do a lot of legacy work - all the way back to Windows 3.1, 4.0 along with DOS, and Mac OS 7, 8, & 9. I have two machines that are dedicated to hardware and software that are over 15 years old, whose output is in the same time, and at least the quality, of today's machines - These were high end machines in their day. Certain functions on any machine are limited by physics and mathematics, making these ol' clunkers comparable to today's in speed and quality. On a third is software whose functionality was never duplicated, whose producers are extinct as companies. Doing this kind of work has unearthed a dearth of folks who need legacy support, who don't want to (They are my customers. They are right! I can only question so much of what they want, very tactfully and carefully.), are not going to, or especially, can't afford to, upgrade, especially after hearing of costs and problems. I see a lot of early versions of Firefox, as well as other browsers, especially Netscape. I even keep one PC that runs DOS in order to work with folks who still use DOS based programs that work, especially POS stuff.
That's why I'm retro. I deal with fossils which include paleo-Firefox.

I just want what I had a few days ago back. Everything was working fine. I stay with the old version because it works for what I do. Foreign concept in today's world.
Our gripe is that we are having upgrades forced on us that don't increase our productivity and cause losses of time and money in the process. None of this is free. Time is money. Switching to Windows 7 has cost me more money than I could afford, for instance. Upgrading Firefox throws out the use of some plug ins - they don't work on the newer versions and can't be upgraded - function gone.
The Macs I still maintain are classic examples of upgrades not being useful forward steps for what I do. There are several programs were made for them that once their operating system upgraded became unusable, even in emulation. Their ease and functionality have never been reproduced in today's software. The old browser works fine on them today. I don't need the new features. I use VMWare in Windows 7 to run a program that, according to the maker, upgrades for the "insignificant" price of $999. That ain't chicken feed! It's the only way it will run. There was no problem with this on XP.
In addition, I use these old machines in order to work with customer's old systems. When there are problems, a lot of what they have won't run on the newer machines at all. We get stuff so old we have to build machines to run it on as needed. And yes, a nightmare in extinct data, file formats - fun, fun fun.
Yes, we are helping folks stay in the stone ages of computing. We can do no more than advise them on what is available and how it works. The final comedown is theirs since they are the people paying the money. On my machines I am the final say and I too keep legacy equipment both for working with customer problems and as I said, I have old software as well as hardware that does not work on today's OS and still works fine and is too costly and troublesome to upgrade as well as offering no improvement in quality and speed of output.
Theory behind us now, how about some answers for the original question. Only in an ideal world is upgrading smooth. We don't live in one, nor would most of us want to. We are individuals.

How do I disable or get rid of the plugin Supreme Savings? It is not listed as a plugin yet it still appears. Please help.

Somehow a plugin with the name of Ads by Supreme Savings plugin has gotten on my computer. It slows everything down and I do not want it. It does not show up on the list of plugin's so I can not disable it. I have gone through regedit to take out all references to Supreme. I even uninstalled Firefox and downloaded the newest version to no avail. I did leave my bookmarks, etc. - could that be why this plugin is still there? Has anyone else had this issue? actually it is a third party software that need to be uninstalled from the control panel .As you have not mentioned the operating system or if it is windows ,just click on the link you will find the solution

I have two things attached to my firefox browser which I cannot get rid of. Plugin-container.exe and a tool bar called MywebSearch. How do I get rid of these things?

The tool bar called MyWebSearch has replaced the Mozilla Firefox start page which is Google. I want to remove it. The Plugin-container.exe is something that I do not know about.

You can normally uninstall MyWebSearch from the Windows control panel.
# Close Firefox and any other browsers
# In the Windows taskbar, from the "Start" menu select "Control Panel"
# Select "Add/Remove Programs"
# In the list of installed programs select "My Web Search Bar"
# Click "Change/Remove" and you should be asked to uninstall it

Hello, recently I read in an article that the Skype plugin for Firefox was banned so I went to uninstall the plugin but it would not allow me; What do I do, how do I get rid of the plugin?

to try to uninstall it manually, I went to computer > Uninstall or change a program > "selected" the skype toolbar and then selected unistall but then it comes back with an error message saying "the folder path 'entire copy' contains an invalid character.'

How to get rid of plugin in use lego icon?

How do i get rid of this annoying lego like icon next to the back button whenever i go on facebook, youtube or any site that uses a plugin? When I click the icon it opens a dialog that has 2 buttons, block or continue allowing on the use of the plugin on the site.. Anybody here know of an addon or about:config thing i can set to false to hide the lego icon?

Actually, I just saw this "lego" piece for a page using Silverlight, and I do not use click-to-play.
It would not be difficult to suppress the little icon using a style rule (userChrome.css or Stylish extension) but this would leave a slim notification area (second frame of attached screen shot). This could be suppressed entirely, but I can't think of a way to suppress it conditionally for some notifications but not for others -- and there are many (third frame of attached screen shot). Perhaps someone else has an idea about that.

Yahoo adaware installed, now i cant get rid of it in firefox, tried changing settings/deleting plugins folder.. HELP PLZ!

Tried installing what i thought was a legit file, turns out it was PC OPTIMIZER PRO/OPERA/YAHOO (why cant firefox make fix for this "force install" crap.. or windows a "black list" for this crap... any way these were force installed on my pc, was able to get rid of "pc Optimizer pro / Opera" but YAHOO is still lurking somewhere.. I USE GOOGLE LIKE THE REST OF THE PLANET! But no matter what i do i cant uninstall this crap.. tried deleting plugins folder C:\program files (x86)\Mozilla\browser/plugins or what ever it is.. also removed YAHOO from my settings... and its still forcing me to use yahoo as my search provider.

open firefox.
go to Settings > Options > Search
un-check every search engine
change the "default search engine" to the engine of your choice and close firefox.
next go to Start > Run > regedit
Click search box and type "yahoo" it will take you to the folder containing the registry for "yahoo" delete the whole folder.
restart firefox.
Check to be sure it worked, (you may need to reset the "default search engine" again.)
