Getting rss feed to xml

ok does anyone here know if there is a way to have a geocites html site into a xml, if not do u know a free websitie that i can put my rss feed on. thanks

You can use Blogger, GCast, Blogspot,... Then use Feedburner to point to your RSS feed at the free site and only give out the Feedburner URL.
The real issue is in the free hosting of your MP3 files - Gcast offers that, you can also use Internet Archive.

  • Download RSS feed as xml file from Sharepoint Online using PowerShell

    Hello
Our company sharepoint (Office 365) contains also several RSS feeds.
How it is possible to download xml file out of this feed (website) using PowerShell?
I can authenticate with sharepoint using CSOM but do not what to do next.
As service user is not administrator I cannot use "SPOService".
This script works OK for standard website, but not for Sharepoint.
    $doc = New-Object System.Xml.XmlDocument
    $doc.Load("http://www.{CompanySite}.com/feed/")
    $doc.save("C:\temp\feed.xml")
I am getting this error when using for company Sharepoint:
"The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden."
Thanks for your time considering this question.

    Hi Scott,
    thanks for advice.
Combination of WebClient and Sharepoint Credentials is working OK:
    $client = New-Object System.Net.WebClient
    $client.Credentials = New-Object Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.SharePointOnlineCredentials($User, $SecurePassword)
    $client.Headers.Add("X-FORMS_BASED_AUTH_ACCEPTED", "f")
    $client.DownloadFile($SiteURL, $file)

  • Newbie here trying to load an rss feed thru xml in Flash AS 2.0

I have never looked into RSS feeds before, I now have someone that wants  Yahoo rss newsfeed  embedded in his main.fla. I have an AS 2.0 rss newsreader he sent to me, knowing nothing about RSS I started to look around and eventually got to a point where I went to a Yahoo RSS feed and copied the source page and dropped it in the xml file that came with the feedreader. When saved, published and uploaded to the server the file displays the feed from yahoo fine, but it never update the stories. I would think this has to do with the xml as it is embedded in the page so it can't change so my question is how do I get an rss feed converted to xml to update???
I gotta be missing something here, I hope this isn't too dumb of a question.
    RD

Yep, as I suspected a dumb question. All I had to do was replace the xml file name with rssurl and it worked.
sorry guys. I have another question regard this I will post separate.

  • How to get rss feeds in mountain lion mail

I don't see any way to get Apple RSS feeds to show up in Mountain Lion like the previous OSX. Does anyone one know how?

You don't. apple has removed the RSS feed features from Mail and Safari. You have to get a third-party RSS reader now.

  • Can I get RSS feeds on iPod Touch?

I was on a site, and clicked on their RSS link (in .xml format), and Safari said something about the link being invalid.
So is there a way to check a sites' RSS feed on the Touch?

Maybe the link really was invalid. I suggest you try some other feeds.
There's an online feed reader at reader.mac.com. You're supposed to be able to enter the feed url directly into the Safari title bar and reader.mac.com will display it in the browser window. I've tried it with a number of feeds, with no problems. I then bookmarked the feeds and put them in a separate bookmarks folder (called "Feeds").
As far as I can see, there doesn't seem to be a way of telling whether a feed contains unread items.
I had been using the mobile version of Google Reader as my feed reader on the touch. It works pretty well but I'd like to find an alternative, mainly because I don't use Google Reader on my desktop/notebook (too much AJAX for my taste).
I like reader.mac.com but some way of telling which feeds contain unread items, before you open the feed, would be a definite improvement.

  • How to get rss feeds onto the Journe Air 801 via the external memory card?

I've bought the Journe Air 801 digital photo frame and the manual says "save the rss feed of the album you wish to display in the .rss format and add to the external memory card" but it doesn't say how you create this .rss file or copy it onto your memory card. does anyone know how i can get a picasa rss feed into this format?
I've successfully added a picasa feed manually in the frame but as picasa only updates the rss feed if new galleries are added, not new photos, the photo feed is not updating on the frame so I'd like to alter the rss address.
    Thanks

    Hi guys,
i will use this thread now also to document my contacts with the toshiba support hotline:
    Early December
I called the hotline the first time and told the support guy (#1) the problem.
He promised to look into this and that he would call me back.
I did not get an incident number.
He called me back the same day and told me, they don't have an air 801 to test, just an air 1000.
The air 1000 has a different menu and does support rss without any problems.
He said, he will try to to find an air 801 and get back at me.
    A week later
Since there was no response I called again and got a different guy.
I told my story again and the support guy #2 promised to ask support guy #1 when #1 is back in office.
He promised to send me an email and include the incident number.
    December 11th
I got an email from #2 saying that he could not find my original request. He did not include the incidient number, although that was promised.
He promised me again that he will get in touch with #1 and ask him for information.
    December 18th
I sent #2 a mail asking for current status.
    December 28th
I called hotline again and had to wait really long (the prerecorded message at the beginning informed me that support staff was hit by a flu).
So I told support guy #3 my story and this time insisted on a incident number and got one. Unsurprisingly #3 could not find my first two requests.
He promised me to hand this to level 3 support and somebody will get back to me, but probably not within this week. I told him I hope for a response within the next four weeks...
So let's see what will happen next.
Maybe you guys could get in touch with toshiba support in your countries, I have the feeling that this increases the chance of getting a "correct" answer.
    Cheers,
    Kai

  • How to get RSS feeds in Safari

I had several RSS feeds set up in Safari.  After upgrading to Mountain Lion and Safari 6.0, those links do not seem to work.  Wondering how I can get my RSS feeds to work in Safari or is there another trick that needs to be used?
    Thanks

    Unbeleavable,
    totally idiotic and useless,
money spent and time spent to find a solution to something that has been there and working.
    sad sad
but good news, google chrome works perfectly, look is the same as safari s old ssr reader, bit nicer than firefox,
so chrome it will be, anyhow, safari took all from chrome,

  • How to get RSS feeds for publishing?

Hey everyone, I hope everoyones having a great St.Patricks Day! I have just posted my first podcast on Sound Cloud this past Thursday and now Im ready to branch out and get it onto podcast directories like iTunes. However, I am not that computer suavy, and I understand nothing about acquiring RSS feeds or making them and Im really lost at all this. One website says to publish an episode then get the feed but I dont know how to publish it, another says to make a blog then upload it to the blog using some OurMedia website or something, I dont know what to think or how to start. If anyone can explain these or know a website that really explains everything in depth I would greatly apprecaite any help at all this is really frustrating me. Thank you in advance, I appreciate all the help!

Could I invite you to read my 'get-you-started' page on podcasting:
    http://rfwilmut.net/pc
which also provides a link to Apple's comprehensive (if a little daunting) Tech Note at
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/specs.html
for additional information (I should use it as a reference rather than trying to read it straight through).
All this will doubtless raise specific questions for you, and do please post back with them.

  • How to get RSS feed url for site?

Is there a way to get the RSS feed url for a blog using Safari?  I'm currently using FF for this since it is very simple.  But that's about the only reason I use FF.  Would be nice not to need two tools.
I don't want to subscribe to the site in Safari.  I have an RSS Reader app that I plug the url into.  I just want to see the url.

For some reason they removed that handy feature from Safari. But, there is an Extension called RSS Menu, which will add a button on your toolbar, giving you that function back.

  • In support forum, signed in,where do I link to questions I've asked? Years back, could get RSS feed for question. Still available?

Where can I link to my questions from my account? Searching for username gives no results. Some years back, you could subscribe to an RSS feed for a question, yours or others. Is that gone, if so, why? How do you save the question, without saving the text of your question in a document, and copying and pasting it into search? FF version 19.0.2.
    Thanks.

The My Contributions link only appears if you are looking at a page of questions people have posted. It's a filter that doesn't apply to other pages, so I guess it's bit of a secret.

  • How do I get RSS Feeds to work in Kerberos?

    Hi,
I am migrating from sharepoint 2010 to sharepoint 2013. The SharePoint 2010 site used kerberos and I have kerberos working for the migrated site in 2013 (kerberos). However, the RSS feeds on front page show error
An unexpected error occurred processing your request. Check the logs for details
    and correct the problem.
It would be good to know what SPN settings are required for which specific server account in 3 tier farm.
    Help would be really appreciated.
    Thanks.
    John.

Kerberos is not a pain. It consists of Service Names and/or Delegations. That's it.
Kerberos does not really care about which server your running on. It cares about the service name and the security principal.
    So the service you log on to has a name: intranet.contoso.com - you need to register an spn for that;
You need to register the service name with the account running it. Basically that is the context your service is running in and that needs to be the same across the domain. aka you cannot have two services with the same name, running with different service
accounts. (Who is then the owner of the service?)
    HTTP/intranet.contoso.com <Application Pool Account>
If your RSS is comming from that service name, you're good to go. But in your case, it seems that the RSS is comming from another service name. So make sure that is also registrered, using the same principal as the above.
Note: the service type can be different. HTTP, MSSQLSvc, WSMan, MSOLAPSvc.3 etc. This will depend on your service type. All web requests are HTTP. This is not a protocol, but a service type.
Now in order to pass your credentials from service1(intranet.contoso.com) to service2.(extranet.contoso.com) you need to enable the delegation. Delegation basically allows your service account, to take your ticket and pass it on to another service.
So under your service1 service account, you enable delegation towards the service2 name.

  • RSS feed: Invalid XML

    Hello everyone.
I want to submit my podcast to iTunes, but I have a problem with the XML file.
    Feed Validator said to me:
    Sorry
    This feed does not validate.
    line 1, column 0: XML parsing error: <unknown>:1:0: not well-formed (invalid token) [help]{\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1036{\fonttbl{\f0\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset ...
    Source: http://*********/RSS.xml
    {\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252\deff0\deflang1036{\fonttbl{\f0\fswiss\fprq2\fcharset0 Verdana;}{\f1\fnil\fcharset0 Calibri;}}
    {\colortbl ;\red68\green68\blue68;}
For more details, here is the XML file.
I really hope you guys well be able to help me.

You appear to have created your feed in a word processing program: it's full of formatting codes such as \par, and the opening couple of lines are full of garbage: the required xml declaration is missing.
This page includes a sample basic feed so you can see what one should look like: your feed must be plain text.

  • How do I get RSS Feeds on my iphone?

I subscribe to several feeds and can view on my laptop, but want to see them on my iphone.  How do I do that?

If you are running Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, as your tag line indicates, see this:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4810
If you are actually running OS X 10.9 Mavericks, Apple no longer includes an RSS reader function in either Mail or Safari, so you'll need a third-party RSS reader. Search macupdate.com for "RSS" and you should find several options.
BTW, to avoid future possible confusion, the "Mac Pro" is Apple's desktop system. The laptops are the MacBook, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.
    Regards.
