Getting saved ipod stopwatch sessions onto my mac?

I could have sworn that there was a way to sync the stopwatch from the ipod to the desktop or right into itunes but I've searched and can find nothing on this board, google or the ipod manual.
was I dreaming this? did apple kill this feature in a version or firmware update (which, BTW, makes my ipod scrolling horribly slow)?

To begin with, you can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. You should then be able to change your settings: iTunes for Mac 7.3 Keyboard Shortcuts
There are various programs out there for recovering photos from an iPod, have a look at the ones below. If you search the internet you can find more. Just be aware that what you'll be recovering will be photos optimised for the iPod so they won't be the same quality as the original full resolution versions:
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
Keith's iPod Photo Reader Mac only
If you have full resolution copies of the photos on the iPod have a look here: Apple Knowledge Base article - Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod

About 3 years old...pretty dated now I guess.  Am thinking I may just need to have it upgraded by a Mac tech.
For what the Apple Store's charge you can buy almost buy a new computer.
Just for giggles I brought my old laptop in for a drive upgrade and asked, they wanted $600 for a drive that only cost $120 at the time and it was a slow 5,400 RPM drive. The new Mac's of a similar make were going for $1000.
I did the drive replacement myself, got a faster drive of better quality for $300 instead.
Then another time I asked for a RAM upgrade from 4GB to 8GB, they wanted to charge $400 + $35 for the labor.
The same RAM is on Crucial.com for $90 and all I need is a 00 micro phillips screwdriver.
So you see what's going on here.
I think what you should do, if your out of warranty/AppleCare, is to call up the local PC tech guy who also does Mac's and have them fix you right up.
They can offer more personalized care which you need. Clone your old drive to the new and everything.
With Apple they are overworked at the Genius Bar and just place roadblocks so you buy a new machine instead.
For instance, all new iMac's now have proprietary drive software installed on the hard drives for heat monitoring. So now the only choice a user has is to bring their iMac into a Apple Store for a very expensive drive upgrade, which a person then decides the money is better spent buying a new machine.

  • How can I get my VCR-c recordings onto my mac?

    Long but simple story:
I have dozens of old VCR-C cassettes with a lot of memories on them. I now want to digitalize them and get them on a DVD(or my computer for now). I have the VCR adapter for the vcr-c cassettes so I can watch them through a VCR. My original idea was to record them onto mini-DV tapes then transfer onto my mac. I have a Sony DCM-HC38 camcorder that has a firewire(i.Link) port, except none of my TV's and VCR's has a firewire port. My Tv's do have a VGA, RGB, HDMI, and normal ports though.
So how can I do this? Thanks.

    Drumwiz
You're going to need to digitise that video before the Mac can see it, and no, copying it onto Mini DV tapes is not the way to go - you'll lose a generation of quality for a start, even if you could do it.
To digitise the video you'll need to get the signal from your VCR to the Digitiser and then on to the Mac where an app such as iMovie can import it.
So what's a digitiser: many middle and upper range video camera will do this function for you, but as yours has no RCA inputs then I doubt that it has the capability. So, upgrade your camera to one that will or buy something like this:

I have a brand new mac book pro, I want to plug my iPhone into it & transfer everything from it onto the mac book, pics, music etc. I'm worried if I plug my phone into the Computer I will loose everything. How can I make sure this doesn't happen?

When you plug your iPhone to Mac,click the Summary button and select “Manually manage music and videos".Then iTunes would never delete your original music.
The most easy way to solve your problems is to move your music to your new Mac.Please refer to this article from Apple.com

  • My hard drive crashed with no backup.  How can I get the data from iCloud onto my Mac?

My hard drive went bad and needed to be replaced and I've lost everything that was on it (no backup - I know, I know...).  Fortunately much of my data was backed up either on icloud or my ipad but I haven't been able to find any information about restoring it FROM icloud or ipad TO my Mac, only about how to restore to an ios device.  I am running Lion.  Thank you!

I guess what I meant to say was that I can log on to icloud to see my contacts, calendars, etc but is there a way to get that data onto my computer?  In other words, how do I associate my new hard drive with my icloud account?  I am probably not phrasing this properly - sorry.  Three days ago (pre-crash) my desktop was configured to reflect my icloud info but I don't know how to make it do so again...does this make sense

  • How can I get my iPod to sync with my Mac (running OS X 10.5.8) if I don't want to upgrade my Mac to OS X 10.6.8?

I just tried to sync my iPod and got the message that I have to update iTunes, but my Mac is running OS X 10.5.8. I wouldn't have updated the OS on my iPod if I had known this would be a problem. Any suggestions on how I can get my devices to sync again without updating my Mac OS?

  • How can I get info off iPhone back onto my Mac

My computer had a heart transplant (hard drive replaced - lost everything . I now need to get my info (contacts, photos, tunes, calendar, etc.) off my iPhone (original generation) back on my hard drive. Can someone help me do this please? I was smart enough to update the iPhone a couple of weeks ago, but yet stupid enough of not to make a back up and keep it on an external. I really need the contacts off the phone and put back on the computer.

Do you have a huge HD?  And I mean HUGE!  You do know that a bunch of  2+ hour movies will take up all of your HD space right?

  • HT1848 How do I get my iPod touch apps onto my new iPad. Can I do it cloud/wirelessly?

I have an iPod with some apps that I want to put the apps onto the iPad I just purchased, what is the easiest way?

You can do it wirelessly by downloading the apps again onto the iPad. You cant transfer them directly from the iPod to the iPad. As long as you use the same Apple ID that you bought the apps with, the downloads are free.
If you want to include all of the app data that you have built up in those apps, you will have to restore from a backup of the iPod as vazandrew has explained.
If you want to download all apps to not devices in the future - do as Mr. Saphique has explained.
If you just want to download the apps to the iPad again, go to the App Store on the iPad, and tap on the Purchased Tab. There you will see all of your purchased apps. Just tap on the cloud icon next to the app icon in order to download it to the iPad.

  • Trouble Getting my iPod recognized after restoring from mac...

    Hey,
I used my old iPod photo with my Mac for a long time. Recently I got a new iPod video and enjoy it a lot. I ended up selling my old iPod to my dad on the conditions that I had to put all the music on there for him .
Anyway, I know that Mac formatted iPods aren't recognizable on Windows PC's. Thus, I restored my old iPod to its original factory settings using the iPod software updater/restorer before trying to load my dad's library from the PC. However, the iPod is still not being recognized by the PC. And when I try the update/restore on the PC it says "iPod service error." It does show up in the "My Computer" folder, however it says the disk must be formatted. If I formatted it manually on the PC and then tried restore on the PC would it then work?
    Thanks.

NEVERMIND. My issue has been resolved. Thanks

  • Getting the ipod to work on a Mac after being formated for a PC

I just received a 60g video ipod for christmas. I ran it first on my parents PC. It worked great. I was able to copy songs and even use the ipod as a portable HD. Then I took it home, plugged it into my PowerPC G4 and nothing happend. It wouldn't show up in itunes, or on my desktop. Then I used the ipod updater from 11-17. It wouldn't recognize my ipod being plugged in. I then went into itunes prefrences and it said "no ipod connected" and when i try to run itunes with the ipod connected itunes just freezes until i unplug it.
I have a PCI slot USB 2.0 that i plugged it into. (i even tried the 1.0 just to see if it would at least read) I tried everything. I know it should be able to at least read the ipod even if it's formated for the PC. but it doesn't. The weird part is the ipod says "Do not disconnect" when i plug it into the machine. So the ipod is reading the usb cable.
i later took it to my friends, house who has a PC, and was able to format the ipod. but when i brought it back home it still won't work. i am sooo frustrated right now. i don't know what to do except throw this thing against the wall. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
    Dual 1 GHz PowerPC G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I tried replying to this message earlier but it never appeared. Thats probably a good thing since I think I finally found a solution.
I was having the exact same problem as kriutta (pc to mac, powermac g4, pci usb 2.0 card).
Since my Mac wouldn't let me format the iPod, I took it to the Apple Store and had one of the techs there format it on a new Mac in the store. I brought it home and this allowed iTunes to see the iPod.
I still had another problem that I couldn't format the iPod using the iPod Updater, the icon for the iPod was for my old 3G iPod and iTunes wouldn't let me transfer photos or videos (no tabs in preferences).
To fix these problems I deleted /System/Library/Extensions/iPodDriver.kext and replaced it with the newest version from the iTunes 6.0.3 package. I then ran disk utility to fix permissions and rebooted. It worked!
iPod Updater works, iTunes shows the right 5G icon, I can transfer my videos and it's right now transfering my Photos.
One last thing....some of those PCI USB 2.0 cards are crap. I've heard that the Belkin one works the best but a lot of them aren't supported by Apple's USB drivers (even though they say they're Mac compatible). So be careful that the USB 2.0 card you're using is a good one.
    I hope this helps.

  • How do I get contacts from iCloud back on my mac?

How I got to this place is too long a story, but I ended up with a system iCloud dialogue box on my macbook pro, and the gist of the questions were Do you want to make it so if I quit iCloud my contacts (Notes, Reminders, etc) will no longer remain on your mac? I didn't want to do this, but it seemed it wasn't letting me proceed without hitting the highlighted agree button, so I did.
I definitely want my contacts back on my Mac. How can I go about getting them from iCloud back onto my mac? I don't intend to quit iCloud, but I have years worth of contacts that I don't want to ever lose.
Notes would be the next most important one to get back onto my mac. Reminders after that. Thanks much in advance for your help.
    Michael

    Hi Michael Gorsline1,
I understand that you turned off iCloud on your Mac and subsequently lost all of your contacts, notes, and reminders. If your information, remains on iCloud.com, you can merge that information back onto your Mac by signing back into iCloud and selecting the services you would like to sync.

  • Deleted "On My Mac" calendars trying to share to iPad. Have a good copy still on iPhone4s. How do I get the phone calendars back on my Mac?

Accidently deleted "On My Mac" calendars trying to share to a new iPad. I still have a a full set of calendars on my iPhone4s. How do I get the phone calendars back onto my Mac?
Not knowing how to move theiPhone calendars I tried this.....
I have tried importing a .icbu file of each calendar exported just before the deletion.  Every time I import a backup, it restores fine initially with all my old events, but as soon as it syncs with iCloud it empties all the events prior to my deletion of the "On My Mac" set of caledars.

I had walked away from the computer and found another mouse hanging out on my wife's computer, I was able to plug it in and got the blue tooth set back up. Thanks for your responding to this.

My 1st ipod was lost. My library is on a Dell with Windows.  I registered my new ipod to a Mac.  How can I get my library from Windows onto my new Ipod?

Thank you for your help.  I am still having trouble.  As you can tell, I am not technologically advanced AT ALL.  My music is all showing up in the library but when I go to file in the top left corner, Sync is greyed out and I cannot select it.  I'm gonna continue to try this.  It's been a long time since I had my 1st ipod and things have changed so much I will probably need to research this stuff.  Thanks again for your help.

  • HT1766 i bought a song on my ipod how do i get it onto my mac?

i bought some songs on itunes on my ipod, after backing up onto icloud they are not on my mac. do i need to connect and sync? or will that erase them from my ipod?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You have two options to get the music onto your Mac:
    1. Connect your device to the Mac, open iTunes and go to File menu (on the menu bar) > Devices > Transfer purchases.
    2. Download these songs in the Mac > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
