  • HT2731 how can i sync my Apple ID to my iTunes sign-in?  I have an old ID showing up in my iTunes sign-in window and cannot get rid of it to show my current Apple ID.  I don't have the old password to the old ID in order to "manage" my account.

how can I sync my Apple ID to my iTunes store sign-in window?  An old ID keeps showing in the iTunes sign-in window and I cannot get rid of it to show my current Apple ID. I don't have the password for the old ID in order to "manage" my account and make changes. Help.  Thanks.

Did you create a new account or did you update your existing account with a new email address ? You can tap on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stpre and sign out of it and you can then sign with the new/updated account.
If you did create a new account then your existing content will remain tied to your old account, so only that old account will be able to redownload that content and/or download updates to its apps. If you can't remember the password for it then you can try getting it reset via this page : http://iforgot.apple.com

  • How to Get the Login Window and/or Bypass Login Items?

    Greetings, folks!
This is a silly question, but the old standby of “hold down the shift key” doesn’t work in 10.6.1:
What key(s) need to be pressed to get the LogIn window and then after LogIn, to bypass LogIn Items?
    Thanks!!
    Richard Fairbanks

Not here, on a fresh (erased) install.
Pressed either before or after the initial gray Mac appears, the shift key does not access the LogIn screen. It is possible to bypass the account’s LogIn items by holding down the shift key after the LogIn screen has been called and successfully commenced, but how does one call the Login screen when the Mac is normally set up for automatic login?
It used to be the shift key . . .
    Thanks!

  • Oracle iLearning 5.0 on Windows and email notifications issue

    Hi!
We are upgrading from iLearning 4.3 to iLearning 5.0 on Windows 2000 server and I have a question related to that.
iLearning 5.0 is certified for Windows.
    The accompanying release.txt states that:
--'Email', 'Email and Web' notifications options for Learner Rating and Authorized Enrollment/Unenrollment are not available on Windows platforms. Only web-based notifications should be used.
Through a Technical Assistance request (TAR Number 4439000.992 ) I've found that this problem is due to the use of Workflow 2.6.2 stand-alone which requires sendmail, which is not available on Windows.
This worries me because I want the system to be able to:
    * notify admin when authorization is needed for enrollment
    * notify course participants about changes or a cancelled course.
    * Certification reminder and expiration
    * Assessment submission
    * Notification to all learners currently enrolled in an offering
The suggested workaround from Metalink is to use a Unix/linux server.
    Metalink suggestion:
"you can set up a notification mailer on UNIX to work with stand-alone Workflow
hosted on Windows. The following MetaLink article is a step-by-step guide on how
to do this: Note:254973.1 How To Configure UNIX Sendmail To Work With Oracle Workflow Running On Windows
This would be useful if UNIX was an option for me. It is not.
    I have some questions:
1)Can I use WorkFlow 2.6.3.5 on windows with iLearning 5.0?
I know Workflow 2.6.3.5 is working with MS Exchange.
2)Can I use sendmail in some form or shape?
IIS 5.0 (or 4.0) has a mail gateway that can be utilized by a sendmail program.
    Sendmail software for windows:

    http://www.ntsendmail.com/
    http://www.windowsitpro.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/5289/5289.html
Has anyone tried any of theese?
I'd like to make a suggestion to my IT department on how to solve this issue.
Thanx for any help in advance :-)
    Kristian Amlie, Bergen Norway

There are a couple of patches available that allow a customer to upgrade their Oracle iLearning database to 10g and with that, upgrade Oracle Workflow to version 2.6.3 which supports email notifications through workflow on windows.
    Patch #s are 4321769 and 4485520
    Thanks!

  • When I open FF I get 1 XP window and multiple Win7 type windows. Why?

Ever since I switched to FF 4 and now in FF 5, when I open FF I will get 1 window in the WinXP format (no orange button) and multiple windows in Win7 format (with orange button). When FF crashes, I get the apologetic "couldn't restore these" window and it lists multiple empty windows. After I delete them from the restore window and restore my XP window everything works fine. Once I start accessing sites that use "kill windows" such as banks and brokerages, the windows start reappearing again. Can you fix this?
By the way the text in drop down boxes is vibrating in FF4 and FF5. Can you fix this too?

    1. I know how to get the orange button, that is not the issue. I am interested in eliminating the problem of having 20 or more windows opening whenever I start FF. By the way the "kill windows" predated FF4, but the multiple window problem started with FF4. I am running FF 3.x.x on another computer without this problem.
    2. It seems that some major banks and brokerages open a "kill window" when logging out of their site. The term "kill window" is what appears in the blue band at the top of the window. The window contains no other information.
    3. When I say the text is vibrating, I mean that it is jumping up and down vertically. This does not prevent making a selection, but it is annoying.

  • When ordering on line, I click continue to get to next window and won't continue and shows a line at bottom with "true... false...true" and won't go to next window.

When I go into any website to make a purchase, when I click on continue to go to the next window, nothing happens. I wexploreron't go any further. I get a long list of numbers and letters with true false true in a banner at the bottom of screen. I have tried to click on the banner but disappears when I go to put the arrow on it.
This all started when I was on a government website, hit back arrow, and lost the site. Ever since, I have not been able to conduct any business on Firefox and have to resort to using Explorer to do my business. Explore works but not FireFox.
    Thank you!

  • When i connect the iPhone via bluetooth to my car, i get no acoustic sms and push notifications anymore. Any ideas?

Tested with Ford, Volkswagen, and with a fiscon-mobile hands-free...
    regards
    mleonhard

FH-P8000BT and iPhone 4 here. Same thing. Pairs fine with the phone, auto-connects and remembers the connection between starts.
BT Audio attempts to auto-connect with the paired device, and fails. You can do a manual BT Audio connection and it connects, but you have to repeat this process every time you turn on the stereo. Way too much for my wife to deal with, so she basically can't use the iPod app on her iPhone in her car anymore unless I'm riding with her. She already asking for her old phone back.
Anyone know definitively who's to blame here, Apple or Pioneer? And if there's a real solution?

  • Windows and iTunes won't recognize my iPad outside of recovery mode

    Okay, so there's a lot.
    1) Unless I put the iPad into recovery mod, plugging in my iPad to my laptop gets no alert sound whatsoever, meaning it's not being recognized. The only thing that I DO get, is the iPad charging. However, there's more! My iPad sometimes appears like it's not even being plugged in, no charging, no recognition. But it's not my cable, I tried my brother's newer cable and the same thing happened. I plugged my cable into my wall charger and into a socket -- works perfectly.
    2) Sometimes, the iPad would get detected by Windows and install drivers, but iTunes still wouldn't pick it up or start automatically. I checked into the device manager and Devices and Printers, it was listed there and the status said it was working fine. I tried updating the drivers, it said the drivers were the best ones available. This is no longer happening however, due to further developments listed lower.
    3) I tried everything here: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows and nothing works there. That includes uninstalling all iTunes/Apple related software in the specified order somewhere in the help sections, restarting the laptop, and then installing iTunes and restarting again. Didn't work.
    4) I tried stopping/starting the Apple Mobile Device process in Control Panel>Services. No effect.
    4) I tried the steps where you go into Common Files>apple>x>xdrivers and using the file there, but it would say it's incompatible or something to that effect. So that didn't work.
    5) I restored my iPad without iTunes. When I attempted to restore the iPad with iTunes, it gave me an error message (4005,I think), and said it could not be restored. Full stop. Thus why I wiped the iPad using the option in Settings>General on the iPad itself. But wiping it achieved nothing.
    6) I put my iPad back into recovery mode to get it recognized in iTunes and Windows again, where before I could get out of recovery mode, I can no longer do that and it appears to be stuck on that screen. Turning it off doesn't change that, because when I turn it back on, it goes directly back to the screen with the Cable + iTunes logo image.
7)Note again, that being in recovery mode will *almost* always allow my laptop and iTunes to recognize the iPad. If I look into Devices and Printers now, it doesn't show up as iPad, it shows up as Apple Mobile USB Device Driver. in iTunes, it shows up as iPad and I get the notice "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery..."
    8) My iPhone works fine and can update, get immediately recognized, etc. So I'm also sure there's no problem with my USB ports in terms of being functional.
Please help me. This has been really frustrating.

You should use a USB port on the back of your computer when you connect. What other devices do you have connected to the USB chain (other than your keyboard and mouse)?
You need to read this article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305136 Even if no new driver is available for your computer, reload the USB Driver following the instructions in the article.
Once your iPod can be seen in Device Manager in Windows, change the drive letter on the iPod to something higher (try M or P) and then reformat it (FAT32 format, don't do a quick format). After this Restore it in iTunes.

  • Can't Get Rid of Windows XP

So I have this white macbook running only windows xp. There is no os x on this hard drive. No boot camp and no parallels. Solely runs on xp. I have the original recovery discs for os x tiger and i cant figure out how to get rid of windows and go back to running os x. Can anyone help shed some light please...

Insert the OS X disk. Reboot the Mac, holding down the Option key. You should see the boot panel, with the option to boot from the install disk. Do so by clicking the arrow under the disk image.
When booted into the CD, click through the first (language select) screen. Go to the Utilities menu, and choose Disk Utility. Using the Partition tab, repartition the hard drive to 1 partition, Mac OS Extended format. Close DIsk Utility and proceed through the installation on the new partition you've just created.
    Good luck!

  • Signing in to use trial of cs6

I am having problems signing in to a trial version of cs6.  It has all downloaded fine but when I open the trial version it comes up with a box asking for me to sign in with my Adobe ID.  I click on the sign in button and after a while it comes up with a box saying I am not connected to the internet or my clock settings are wrong.  But  I am connected and my clock is right!  Any hints on how to fix this??

    Hi Vikrant,
I will try this.  The other thing I was thinking it could be is that when I set up my user profile I mistakenly left the country as USA.  If the trial software compares this with my computer dates and times it will be incorrect.  I am from NZ which is obviously a different time zone etc, so this could be confusing things.

  • Media and Effects manager and video windows won't show up when STP launches

Today I launched Soundtrack Pro (from FCP Studio 5 Academic) and neither the Media and Effects Manager window (with Browser, Search, Favorites, Bin & Effects tabs) or the Video would show up. All I get is the project window.
When I tried importing an audio file or opening a multi track file, I still don't get these two windows, and under the window menu, all of these options are GREYED OUT.
Is there a certain setting I need to bring up the other two windows this program needs? Shouldn't they just be there when the program launches? HELP!

    Update:
So, I just tried re-installing the software and I still only get the multi-track window when the program launches. I can not see any way to get the video viewer or Media and Effects manager windows to show up.
Please, what am I doing wrong?

  • I just downloaded the latest version of itunes for Windows and now itunes crashes every time i launch it

I just downloaded the latest version of iTunes for Windows and now iTunes crashes everytime I launch it.  I have tried re-downloading and selecting Repair with no luck.  Any suggestions?
    thanks

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • What we love, (and don't), about CS6

I am thrilled with the progress that Adobe developers have made with CS6.  The control surface support and metronome were my "deal breakers" for CS5.5, but in CS6, there is alot more to love.   It has crashed on me once in the last three days... when I was adjusting an effects plugin on the fly.... but other than that, it seems very stable on my AMD 6 core system running 32 bit Windows 7 with 4G ram.  I must say that the improvements over and above Audition 3.0 were significant enough for me to pay for the upgrade, even through full MIDI support is still on the horizon.  It would be nice to have it, but it is not a big deal right now for the way that I prefer to work.  I look forward to next editions, that are a bit more processor effecient (Audition 3 seems to play a large-scale multitrack configuration that CS6 will not.  In fact, CS6 seems to handle fewer plugins at a time than its predecessor.  No clue why this is.
I have even learned to live with the inability to change the tint of the user interface from various shades of sick brown to an almost metalic grey to death pallor, I have opted for the closest to flat metalic grey that I can get.... 3.0's ability to change UI color alowed me to make my visual display more appealing (at least to my admittedly quirky tastes).
All said, I am very happy with this software.   The control surface support is leagues ahead of the legacy cool edit support that was in 3.0.   Multiple control surfaces with android and ios devices working harmoniously together.  This is the way that the control surface universe should be for bargain-seeking kludgers like me.
Keep up the good work.  I was pleasantly surprised with the progress you are making on this.   I'm sure that many others must feel the same.  Perhaps they too will express their gratitude to the Adobe Audition development team for their impressive work, and encouraging them to keep moving forward to an even more impressive CS7.
    JPK
hmmm.. it says mark my discussion as a question.  Perhaps the question is, "Why do you love about the new CS6, and what would make you love it even more?"

    Claude,
One of the things that I love most about Adobe in general is the fact that they allow you to download fully functional, albeit time-limited, trial versions so that you don't have to have such fears.  Simply download the trial version and follow the instructions.   They give you plenty of time to play with the software and decide if it is worth the investment.   If after the trial period you decide that the upgrade is not for you, e.g. because it won't loop, poop, or whatever bell or whistle you desire, you can choose to invest in another product that suits your needs.  I doubt that the Adobe engineers will put up with bugs in their software, and I have faith that they will eventually address all of the functionality concerns, and perhaps even get to minor issues like being able to change the icky user interface color.  It looks ok with earthy wallpapers, but it still makes me feel like I am sitting at the controls of a high-tech tank.  Why, just awhile ago, I was mixing with Audition 6 and driving my tank through Stonehenge.
I knew for sure when I tried CS5.5 that it wasn't a viable upgrade for me after trying it.   It only took me a few days after I tried CS6 to make the decision to purchase an upgrade for one of my Audition licenses, mainly because the iPad and Android control surface app support was outstanding (i.e. multiple surfaces so no more bank switching, vu meters on the individual channels work, and the channel labels are no longer all screwy).  Since I use Audition mainly to record and produce my own music and don't sequence or loop, the loss of MIDI functionality from 3.01 to 6.0 wasn't a big deal.   Since they do have the control surface support, and the control surface support operates via midi, I can't help but to think that such functionality will appear in subsequent versions of Audition.
I started out with Cool Edit Pro back in the '90s,   I stayed with it because when Adobe came out with Audition 1, they kept the overall layout of the user interface and made the pricing structure affordable, just as they have with version 5 in CS6.   The upgrade price from CS5.5 to CS6 is really reasonable, and if you already own CS5.5, I can't see a downside to going to CS6 (I was a beta tester for CS5.5, and ran it on a home-made hackintosh / windows dual boot system, with the goal in mind of getting away from Windows and eventually moving to Mac.  I was impressed with the fact that the software was exactly the same in 32 bit OSX 10.5.9 as it was in 32 bit Windows, but the lack of control surface support made it not viable for me at that time).  Now that I am running a stable and responsive 64 bit system with an overclocked processor, I have no need to move in the Mac direction at this time and dismantled the Hackintosh..   I have a feeling that the next version of Audition will have native 64 bit support, which should speed things up quite a bit.  As it is, CS6 loads much faster than 3.01, and in my opinion, is much more stable than its predecessor.
Their engineers often respond directly and quickly to concerns raised in these forums.   No software is perfect.  Audition is a fine product built by audio Software engineers in .a mostly visual work environment, and their relatively small development team has produced impressive results.  Adobe could have dropped Audition altogether, and I believe almost did, because it is by far not its cash cow.   I for one am glad that they chose to hang in, and am grateful for the continued efforts of the developers, because I really didn't want to have to learn a new software package.
When I started this forum, I deliberately made it about what we loved first, and what we didn't second.   People derive more creative solutions when motivated by carrot rather than stick, so I encourage users to try the free trial download and give the engineers a fair and honest appraisal, beginning with feedback about the many things that these high;y capable engineers have gotten right.  I am concerned that if there is too much customer dissatisfaction expressed, Adobe might abandon Audition altogether, or change its functionality so it is no longer that useful for people like me who use it as a complete music production solution.   Engineers have to answer to bottom-line oriented executives.  We as customers ultimately decide the software's fate.   I for one hope that Adobe continues to move forward in its development.
