Getting someone to come to the house to check internet issues

Our internet has been going up and down for WEEKS now and we have reset the modem ourselves several times. I called Comcast last week and they reset the modem on their end, but we are still have connectivity issues. Today I tried to call customer service 7 times. 4 times it was busy or a crazy sound. 3 times the call was dropped when I was finally (after multiple voice recorded messsages) able to speak with an agent. I just want to get a technician out to the house. Metronet is coming into our neighborhood and they can't get here fast enough. SO FRUSTRATED WITH COMCAST!!!

Is your formula attached to basic salary element or some other element? You need to make sure that basic salary element has some value and is processed before this formula is called. Are you able to see value for basic salary element after payroll run?

I Did all the regular modem diagnostics but that computer won't connect and it's a hard wire connection, not wireless (too far from the wireless signal). Is anyone else having this problem?

System Preferences>Network, top of window>Locations>Edit Locations, little plus icon, give it a name.
10.5.x/10.6.x/10.7.x/10.8.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
IFor 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...
208.67.222.222

(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
Click OK.

Can't get signal in part of the house

I have a new AirPort Express (802.11n) which works fine except that I get a very weak signal, or sometimes no signal, in the third floor of the house--and unfortunately that's where my home office is. The router is on the second floor below. I can get a signal on the first floor, and in the stairwell of the third floor, but not in my office. Any ideas of how to make it work better?

(a) Move the AirPort Express (AX) up to the 2nd or 3rd floor.
(b) Place a 2nd AX, AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) or Time Capsule somewhere between your office and the current AX. Use that device to extend the wireless network provided by the current AX.

Hi, I am having problems with Safari loading web pages as I am getting beach ball effect quite often today. I have checked that the Internet connection is good, I have also removed webpages in history. Can anyone give me advice please as I am fairly new to iMacs and not young?

1. Reset Safari.
   Click Safari in the menu bar.
   From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
   Uncheck the box next to " Remove saved names and passwords".
Click "Reset" button
2. Empty Caches
    Safari > Preference > Advanced
    Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
    Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
    Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
3. Turn off Extensions, if any temperorily.
    Safari > Preferences > Extensions
    Try Safari again.

On my 4gen ipod i have to move close to the internet router to get a better signal.while on my iphone and other devices they connect from anywhere in the house

If you have that problem with all networks that tends to indicate that the antenna connection is lose.

Problems with signal level around the house ????

I have had my BT Home HUb 2.0 for just about a month now and after having very little luck with my new laptop which i have replaced twice and am now on my 3rd (Samsung) all working well, i am still having problems with using my laptop with the home hub about my house.
I have strong signal downstairs obviously cause that is where home hub is situated, and it is central to the layout to the house, but if i take my laptop upstairs i have no signal again, i say again as when i first fitted home hub i had good signal upstairs of 3/4 bars. I have tried changing the channel and have found that channel 11 is the one for here.
The only thing i can put it down too is that the other day i tried to get the router set up no more than 5 feet from where it is now as i am also trying to get my old pc tower to work from it too (pc tower has no internal wireless card so have a wireless adapter) but signal again is very poor, since i tried that and also laptop has manufacterer update for a new driver to be installed which i installed which was for the wireless facility on laptop ( which since i have done a system restore ), since all of this i have struggled to get strong signall all around the house only in fromt room as hub is situated in hallway next to front room.
Please help, as i am not having very muchg luck ???

Other external interference maybe.
I had a problem last year with my car remote transmitter not working unless within a few inches of the drivers window.
Using a radio scanner, I found a signal on the same frequency that my remote uses.
After eliminating all other possabilities, including total power down of our house to eliminate ANY of our equipment, I contacted Ofcom http://www.ofcom.org.uk/complain/inter/intbr/ and made a formal complaint.
A few days later the investigator arrived with some really hi tech scanning gear, and within 5 mins had identified the scource was eminating from next door.
He found the culprit....next door had a Sky remote extender which had gone faulty, and was flooding the area with a constant signal.
There is no charge for this service as long as its not your own equipment, which is why I powered off the whole house to see if the problem persisted.
Maybe you could use an extention lead from next door to power your router while turning your mains off to check?

I dropped my iphone and when i picked it up it was working but as soon i got inside the house and turned it on, the screens lights up black then it goes completely white

You can try resetting it: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If you are able to see the Apple, then the reset is in progress, and the Home screen will display shortly.
If you are not able to see the Apple, then you are going to need to make a trip to the Apple Store.

Bob Timmons reply to you is absolutely correct.
That being said, I'm going describe my setup, which works very well for me.
I have a two story split level frame house, about 2,000 square feet. The airport express is located on the second floor -- I get full coverage all over the house, and even into my smallish backyard. We do have a blu ray player down stairs, located about 20 feet away. We stream Netflix video most evenings, with very good results.
Wifi signal propagation is a vague science, which does make predicting individual results very "ify," as Bob mentioned.

Back up all data. Rebuild the mailbox. Try again to delete the message.

How to get Fibre to the house

If anyone could suggest how I can get fibre to the house and how much it might cost please?
The Bt infinity 3 package is advertised and in a recent email to me it was mentioned via an advert also.
If I have (according to BT) the maximum that they can offer, does that mean to my house or to the cabinet, if it is to the cabinet, an upgrade would not be worth it....slightly confused....

If you are referring to the BT infinity upto 300mbps (though this can be increased in the future), then this is a FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) service.
You will only be able to get BT Infinity upto 300mbps if your in a FTTP area and not available to FTTC areas.
At the moment FTTPoD (FTTP on demand where FTTC areas can request to get FTTP) is not supported by any ISPs at the moment, though may cost you thousands if you go down this route once ISPs take up this FTTPoD service.
