Getting something to lock on the Y

lets try this again. I guess I made the mistake to try and
ask too much in my last post. so I will start off with something
easier. (well, at least to you all who understand it)
first one. how would I make an object stay along one path?
like say, I have a box, and when I mouse drag it, I only want it to
be able to move up and down. so if I try moving the box off to the
side, it wont move, but up and down it will.
and if I can ask, how do I make a start button work? have it
so my code and game does not start until I hit this specific
button.

A week or so back I noticed my computer running differently so I looked at it, and I am very good at taking care of all of my computer issues. But this is something that I did not do, and do not understand how it happened. All of a sudden the computer is running in MOZILLA FIREFOX (PRIVATE BROWSING)---CAN YOU HELP ME GET OUT OF THIS, OR IS THIS THE WAY IT IS SUPPOSE TO RUN??

To Reset Firefox do the following:

Working with Elements 12, in Expert mode, with the first layer, I did something to lock up the whole Expert mode. I can't get rid of the eyedropper tool, or cancel the layer I started. Now, when I put in a new image to edit, I can't even get the normal Expert editing dialogue that normally appears on the right side of the screen. Can you help me?

Oh and to add, when I downloaded the skype app onto my dad's air...I got a notification to my personal yahoo mail, it says:

GTT table getting Row Exclusive lock

I have a procedure which loads a table which is used for reporting.
Currently it is a single process which picks up most of the data after joining 2-3 big tables(around 70-80GB) and then loading the main table.
The joins are on PI and also partitions are also being used. Then a lot of updates are done on the main table to update other columns which are being picked from different tables.
As the processing is happening on huge amount of data(around 1M), so processing is taking a lot of time.
This process is taking around 40-45 minutes.
I am planning to use parallelism to run it in 75 sessions. So the initial big insert will be faster and later on all the updates will be done on smaller chunks which will benefit the performance.
I planned to use GTT table so that i dont have to create 75 temp tables for each sessions.
But while using GTT table(ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS) in parallel sessions, i am seeing that the GTT table is getting Row Exclusive lock and the time taken by overall process is increasing by lot.
So i tested by using 75 temp tables. There i saw that the performance has increased by lots as assumed initially.
Please let me know if there is any other way or how to remove the locks on GTT table.

First you should question why you think you need 75 GTT.

so basically your questions boils down to
- Hey I come from a sqlserver background (this is just an educated guess), how can I find a workaround to wreck Oracle to make it work like sqlserver.
75 parallel sessions on say 4 to 8 processors is a very bad idea, as these sessions will be simple competing for resources.
Also a row exclusive lock is just that: a row level lock. This isn't a problem, usually.

Hi there. I also bought an iWires mini Display port to HDMI cable and have an LG LED/LCD TV. I plugged it in to my MB Pro and followed the very small writing that came in the package and got both audio and video going. You need to change the audio settings from within System Preferences on your Mac to select your TV as the audio output.
My concern is the data latency - do you experience a delay between moving your mouse on the MBPro and the TV displaying the movement? It is only a fraction of a second, but certainly enough to be annoying, especially in a cable as expensive as the iWire.

Hi, I have recently purchased an iPad 2 and only just found out after trying to use a Giffgaff sim card that it is locked to the Orange network in the UK. I don't want to be paying any extra over and above what I have already paid so my question is, is there any way to get the iPad carrier unlocked via apple or orange. I am waiting a call back from apple today and have read on the web that orange will charge me to unlock it.

Some iPads which were subsidized by the carriers are locked to the carrier, and in that case only the carrier can authorize an unlock. You'll need to talk to Orange, and pay their fee if necessary. They may well only unlock for the original purchaser, in which case you'll need to contact the person from whom you purchased the iPad. Apple can do nothing directly in the matter, since they can only issue the unlock when the carrier provides authorization.

So if a download is in progress and so forth when the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data, if this setting is left on. IMovie has frozen up on me. I've tried rebooting and reinstalling the apps- no help. I can play some of the files- but I can't get into the libraries.Even when I can get something to play the whole system crashes after a few minutes. What can I do?

I desperately need your help. I was working on iMovie last night when the thing froze up on me. I've tried rebooting. I've tried reinstalling the apps. No change. I can play some of the files- although I can't tell which ones will play until they magically appear. I can't get into the project library or the event library. The bar that lets me scroll through the clips is gone. Even when I can get something to play the whole system crashes after a couple of minutes and generates a "problem report" that says "iMovie Quit Unexpectedly". This all started when I was adding cutaways- and one clip just would not load. After I tried several times everything froze up. Have you ever heard of something like this? Maybe I pushed a button or somehow changed a setting? Maybe some of the video is corrupt? What do you recommend?

Couple of things to try:
Restart your mac and try launch iPhoto again.
If that fails:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a file called ‘iPhoto’Lock.data or similar. Drag it to the Desktop. Make no other changes. Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If not: Where is your iPhoto Library stored? If it's on an External Disk, what format is that?
