Getting songs from my Ipod touch to my PC.

Hello, I've encountered a problem where I can not transfer music from my iPod touch 4th Gen. onto my PC. I know this is a renowned problem and has caused many people great problems, including myself. Firstly, I do not have this music anywhere except on my iPod, previously my music was put on my ipod via CD, on an old computer and with an old forgotten account. So I hope to do this simple procedure on my new computer with a new Apple ID. Moreover and secondly, my research tells me it is an anti-piracy device which is hiding the music files and preventing me from accessing it, has it got copyright protection? If there is no immediate solution, then is it possible for me to do this action legally at all? Must I wait for this: 'iCloud', being a resident of the UK, or is that something completely different? Thirdly, I'd like to indicate that I do not feel that this issue has been addressed properly and made clear to customers like myself, whether it is possible or not. I must beg your pardon but, this ordeal is far easier with MP3 players such as Sony's. Lastly, I think I might be out of my place to say this but, if you actually provided an easy solution to this problem, or just out right said you can't do this to your customers, you would have far fewer people hacking and pirating your software. I have contacted you in hope this matter can be resolved legally and having paid well for a premium product I expect quality customer service. Apologies for making a mountain out of a mole hill but, it really is that difficult to do this.
Help me Please.
Thankyou.
Yours, sincerely Feddyfreak.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.  If you have failed to do this, then you are asking for trouble.
The ipod is not a backup/storage device.  It shouldn ever be the only place you have anyhting.
The music sync is one way only - computer to ipod.  The only exception is iutunes purchases.
You may be able to buy a program ( not supported by Apple) to do this.
BTW, you are not addressing Apple here at all.  We are all users like you.
Backing up your copmputer is very basic and very important.  Failing to do this will certainly cause you problems.

Alright, so my ipod touch stopped working, but I can still connect it to itunes, but my friend gave me his old nano. I was wondering how I could get my more updated songs from my ipod touch onto th nano. My laptop crashed whitch had all my new music, and im afraid if I sync my Ipod touch to the desktop with all my old songs, ill lose all my newer ones which I dont want to happen because I want them on my nano. Im sorry for the confusing topic im just so lost.

All you have to do is connect your new iPod to the computer that has the library for your old iPod.
When iTunes comes up, click on your new iPod under Devices.
At the top of the Summary Page click Music.
    Click Synch Music.
Do the same thing for Photos, Apps, Movies and so on...
    Now just synch the iPod.

  • I got a new computer and backed up my iTunes library to an external hard drive.  The external hard drive is not allowing me to access the drive.  Is there a way to transfer the songs from my iPod touch to my new computer?

I got a new computer and backed up my iTunes library to an external hard drive.  The external hard drive is not allowing me to access the drive.  I no longer have access to the old computer.  Is there a way to transfer the songs from my iPod touch to my new computer?

That's a bummer, didn't realize the exHD files were corrupt, esp if you have tried from another PC and not just this new computer.
You can get purchases from the itunes store transferred from an iPod using these directions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848?viewlocale=en_US
If you want everything (meaning non-itunes songs, app data, photos, etc) you need to buy a 3rd-party ipod manager that support iTouch. Here is an iLounge article to start your research:

  • How do I get songs from my old Ipod onto my Iphone? I have a new apple ID for my phone... Do I need to use my old apple ID to get songs from my Ipod to my Iphone?

I need help getting songs from my Ipod to my Iphone. I have a different Apple ID on my ipod... I am not sure of that Apple ID. How do I figure that out? How do I get my songs to all be on my Iphone.
I do not want to repay for songs I have already.

Are the songs on a computer? Right mouse click on a song and on the summary page it will tell you what AppleID was used to purchase it.
If you are going to carry on using the same computer then just plug in the iPhone and sync the information there. So you will have a copy on your iPhone and maybe different stuff on your ipod.

  • How do you get songs on an Ipod touch from your previous one?

My Ipod touch recently had a glitch that completely messed it up. As a result, I went to get another one. Typically, when we sync our ipods to the computer, everything that you've changed on the ipod is saved onto the computer as well. However, I had purchased about 15-20 songs on my Ipod touch and added about 6 or 7 new apps before it started to mess up on me, but I never had the chance to sync it in to the computer. So I'm wondering if there is a way for me to reclaim the songs that I've purchased because--well, because I've purchased them and I really do not want to pay for them again. If anyone has a legit answer, I'd really appreciate it if you posted a response!
    Thank you! =]

Here's a short and simple on the legit way since I actually had this happen to me as well.
Open iTunes, and go to the store. At the top right corner should be your iTunes login name (or "Log In"). Either way, click it and it will ask you to log in.
Once you log in (or re login), you should be brought to your account. Somewhere in the middle is an option to view purchase history. Click that.
Once it's open, it should pull up all your purchases (grouped somehow...I think by day?). Find the purchases you're looking for. And click the arrow to pull up the order (for multiple orders, you're going to do this a couple times).
The order should pull up with ALL purchases associated with that order. At the bottom is a button to report a problem.
When you click it, all items should now show a link that says "Report a Problem". For each item, click the link.
A new page will display with a drop down menu and a comments box. Pick the option "I didn't Receive this Song" and note that it was purchased with an iPod Touch that was unable to transfer to back to iTunes. Submit, and repeat for all SONGS.
For all your apps, find the apps you need to download, and iTunes will automatically allow free redownloads, which means you DON'T need to report a problem. When you finished reporting the problem, check your email box because you'll be spammed by the Apple Auto-Responses that an Apple Associate will take care of the problem. In several hours (or overnight), you'll receive a response from said Apple Associate (it will say the same thing all the time, practically automated) apologizing for you not receiving the songs. They will credit your account and you can "repurchase" that song (since you will technically receive a "gift card" on your account of 1.29 per song). That should solve your problem.

  • How to get music from an iPod Touch to an iTunes library, even if some of the music wasn't purchased from the iTunes Store

So I just got a new laptop,
    I downloaded iTunes
I Authorized the computer and all that,
I transported my purchases from my account and all went well,
But I just want to know if it's possible to take the music from my iPod Touch 4 and put in on the laptops iTunes library?
    I have a Windows laptop
The songs that I have on the iPod aren't from the iTunes Store and I've been looking for ways to try different things but nothing is working
I don't even care if the steps are complicated or if it will takes a couple days or if I have to download the songs one at a time, I just NEED to figure this out

  • How do I remove a nonplaying song from my iPod Touch that doesn't appear in iTunes?

I found a song on my iPod Touch (3rd Generation) that doesn't play.  Yet it doesn't show up in iTunes when I connect the iPod Touch to my computer.  How do I delete it it off my iPod Touch?

    Try:
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try unsyncing all music and then resyc what you want.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

  • Can't get songs from my iPod into the library on my new mac

I recently had to get a new hard-drive on my dell laptop, and iTunes was uninstalled from the computer. When I re-installed iTunes, my iPod was not being recognized by the laptop, so none of my songs on my iPod were in the library anymore.
Now I have a new MacBook, and my iPod is being recognized, but I can't get most of my songs from my iPod into the library in iTunes.
I'm sure there is an easy solution, but I can't figure it out!
    Any help is much appreciated!!!

If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of content from other sources such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. This is just a small selection of what's available, you can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    Senuti Mac Only
    PodView Mac Only
    PodWorks Mac Only
iPodDisk PPC Mac Only (experimental version available for Intel Macs)
    iPodRip Mac & Windows
    YamiPod Mac & Windows
    Music Rescue Mac & Windows
    iPodCopy Mac & Windows
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available at this link: Two-way Street: Moving Music Off the iPod

  • Can I back up the songs from my iPod touch on my computer if my iPod Touch is lost or breaks?

I have over 700 songs on my iPod Touch and am worried that I will lose them if my iPod is lost, stolen or breaks. If the songs are already on my hard drive, I cannot find them anywhere in the iPod directory.  Are they there? How can I find them? If not already, can I make a copy on my hard drive?  How?
