If there is a list to choose from those are the names of the available wifi networks that are visible to your iPad's wifi. Some of them will be locked, you will need the password to connect to these. Some will be unlocked(open), you will not need a password to connect to these.
If it is your own wifi network then do not leave it open. Set up a name and password in your wifi router. It will show up in your list to choose from. You then provide the password you set in the router when asked for the password. -

TIMES AS FAST AS THE FOX LATELY ON LOADING PAGES.For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

I purchased 20gb of iCloud storage but want to change it to 50gb. However, I cannot find where to get the original purchase cancelled so that I can upgrade. I purchased an Brand New iPod Nano on ebay and I have
finally recieved it. I have registered it but
everytime I go to the support page and type in the
serial number, it says that this iPod was purchased
back in January, and asks you to register it with
apple. Now I know that January is probably when the
ebay seller bought the iPod but when can I actually
veiw my warranty? I recieved an email from apple
confirming my registration. And another question,
will my 1 year warranty go all the way to "next"
April or will it go to January of 2008?

Safari fails to start and Apple support chat not answering..
Safari now repeatedly fails to start following an update to 8.0.2
Rebooted machine (iMac - mid 2010, 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7 on Yosemite), fixed disk permissions etc etc. but no joy.
Went on Apple Support Chat today - but seems they've taken an early holiday - no response whatsoever.
Everything else works fine.
Anyone any ideas?

You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates
if it's not already checked. -
Everytime I start firefox since the last update I can't get the stupid Getting started with firefox page to stop opening up. I downloaded the version 8 and it still opens ..
Well the latest and Greatest Firefox Version 8.0. Won't let me change my home page no matter what I do it always comes back with the getting started page and my orignal home page.

Message at start and end of page load
Hello,
I have a page with a tabular form and a display region.
The tabular form has many rows and the region contains the outcome of
some SQL that can take some time to process.
As a result,the complete page takes a rather long time to load
(or maybe its just apex.oracle.com with too many users).
I need to inform the user at the start of page load to wait until
the page has loaded completely, a message like
"Please wait.." at the start.
When the page has loaded completely,another message to inform
the user that the form is ready.
I tried placing a dummy PL/SQL page process in the "after region"
that simply says "RETURN;" and a success message to inform that the
page has loaded,but the message does not display.
Any suggestions please.

Get Start and End times for each step in a job
Can someone tell me how to get the start and end times for each step in a background job? Table TBTCP only stores the time that the step was saved in a background job. Table TBTCO stores the times for the entire job and not each individual step.

I woke up this morning and found my iPhone 4 is off condition, With the assumption that is needs to be charged, I tried to hook up for charging, I haven't succeed in this attempt, The phone is not getting started, even i charge it, Help me out.
Try a reset:
- hold the home button and sleep/wake button down at the same time for atleast 15 seconds
- if you see the Apple logo appear rlease both buttons
If that fails try charging the iPhone while plugged into the wall adaptor and also while plugged into the computer. Try cahrging both ways for atleast 15-20 minutes. Also while its plugged into the computer check and see if the computer or iTunes will recognise that the iPhone is connected.
