Getting Started in 8i Personal

Hello!!
Some days ago i download Oracle 8i Personal Edition.
I don't have any problem to install in my Win98
But is hard to me begin to utilizing it, already read all the documentation that find but as newbie is very dificult to understand many things.
Someone knows any web site with some step by step guide to 8i Personal, like configuring DSN, OO4O, make a database to from start to end..
Any help are welcome..

Iam new to j2me and iam in the learning process.
I have certain issues of getting started.
We are going to use Personal Profile in our project
I want to develop and test in Windows 2000 os.Is that possible?
How should i use Personal Profile ?

that PersoanlJava is no more in active development and its been

IBM's J9 supports Personal Profile on various platforms. One is Win32. If you use the IDE that comes with WSDD you can create an Eclipse project targetting Personal Profile. You compile against only the PPro classes, therefore you do not need a JavaCheck like tool.

Getting Started Quickly Personal 9i

Where can I find the steps to get personal oracle91 v2 installed on running on my PC? I just would like a stand alone version nothing fancy and I have a background as a developer not a DBA. I currently do not have access to metalink either.

Sir, your Apple ID can be used as an iCloud account as well. They are both the same thing.

Why does Firefox not acknowledge that I have Silverlight already installed. When trying to work with "Getting Started" in Windows 7, it keeps telling me I have to download Silverlight to view this information.

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7 OS. When trying to learn the transition experience from Windows XP to this new OS version, I was presented with this problem of going around in circles.
When trying to view "Discover Windows 7" via "Start>Getting Started>Discover Windows 7", a Microsoft website opens to; (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/videos/personalizing-your-pc). It tells me; To view this contents, please install Microsoft Silverlight. Once I install it and get back to this page, I get the same message. I can not view any of the help content before installing Microsoft Silverlight. So now it is a never ending "CIRCLE of LIGHT"! Is this a problem with my Firefox or with Windows Microsoft 7?

I'm not seeing the Silverlight plugin in your More system details list, so Firefox doesn't find it if you have it.
I assume that you also do not see it in Tools > Add-ons > Plugins ?

Getting started with an iBook G3?

Hey,
I just got an iBook G3 (500mhz, snow, airport, 10gb hd, upgraded ram), to compliment my iMac (G5 rev c) and I'm a little new.
It was used, I got it via trade.
Does anyone have some tips for me to get started with it ? I'm wanting to upgrade the HD to at least 20 GB, and to max out the ram. Any hints on that ?
Also, where can I get a new battery and charger ?
Also, what else should I know about it ?
It will mainly be used for writing (novel, fan-fics), surfing the web (wirelessly), and when I'm traveling...
Oh, it has OSX10.2 installed.

How much RAM is installed?
Does it have the original AirPort card installed? (You may want to install one, if not, to enable wireless access to the internet.)
Did the original system CD's and the OS X 10.2 software CD's come with it? If not, try to get the person you got it from to give them to you. You will need them if you intend to upgrade the hard drive (and for maintenance, even if you don't upgrade the hard drive).

Enough dual USB G3 iBooks suffered from a logic board problem that Apple began the iBook Logic Board Repair Extension Program in January of 2004. Check out the FAQ page and be aware of how this logic board problem manifests itself.
It has been suggested that you can minimize the chance of a logic board failure of this sort by never picking it up by the front left corner alone. Pick it up with both hands or in the center under the trackpad.
It's also a good idea not to close it any more often than you need to in order to minimize the chance of the backlight cable (and other cables and wires) becoming pinched in the hinge or broken. When you have some time, check out the Discussion thread in the Displays Forum entitled 90 degrees and black out!!!!

Whenever i click on the 'getting started' icon on the bookmanrks toolbar, the page appears in Hindi language, what should i do so that it comes automatically in english ?

i just want to know the changes that i should do so that whenever i click on the 'getting started' icon, the page should appear in english language and not in hindi language.

All-in-all, this is a pretty sophisticated piece of malware, and if neither of those links help, I'd suggest going to a forum site that is dedicated to fixing computer problems/infections and asking for some more targeted help there. It's something that is beyond my level of expertise to remove.

Acrobat X - getting started - create pdf

When I open Acrobat X Pro, there is a window that says "Open a Recent File" on the left and "Getting Started" on the right. The first choice under "Getting Started" is "Create PDF." When I click on "Create PDF" I get an "Open File" dialogue box. I don't want to open a file. I want to create a PDF. In my particular situation, at the moment, I want to create a PDF from the scanner. This is an option from the pull-down menus and the buttons, is there a way to make it an option from the "Getting Started" window?

Thanks. After a while, I started using the big "create" button. It works to create a new scan to .pdf. But, can't find a dependable way to insert from scanner.

You cannot customize the entries on the Welcome Screen, but very few people use the right side of the Welcome Screen for routine tasks, it's there as a reminder of the type of things Acrobat can do. Creating PDFs from your scanner is usually activated via the large "Create..." button on the main toolbar, or the File menu.

Getting started porting Linux driver

Hello,
If this question has been posted somewhere else please point me in the right direction.
I'm new to solaris and my goal is to port a Linux driver (vmebus pci device on Redhat) to Solaris (X86 v5.11). The Linux driver is all written in straight C. I've installed Solaris Express Dev Edition 2/07. I see that gcc is there (under /usr/sfw/bin) but it seems like a bare-bones development environment (no enviroment variables set up , etc).
My question is is this the right set of development tools to proceed forward with or should I be downloading something else ? Is there some easier to use graphical 'IDE like' set of tools that is more appropriate for a Solaris newbie like me ? I know Forte is a commercial product, what is the best freeware for graphical C development ?

Here's what I would do... go to this website and download an ISO of a live CD. You can burn it, stick it in your CD drive, and start your PC. It will boot to Linux without ever having to format anything, that way you can tinker around with how it feels. After you are happy with that, you can download and install a distro...

As far as disrtos go, I would choose one of the following for a first time user:
Kubuntu (because it's easy to get started) http://www.kubuntu.org/ or
Fedora Core 5 (because it's easy to download and add packages -- most in the Add/Remove Programs app) http://fedora.redhat.com/
Both of these distributions have a lot of help and howtos when it comes to Oracle as well. If you don't like KDE (I do but that's personal preference) then FC5 gives you the option of Gnome or KDE and Ubuntu is the non-KDE version of Kubuntu.

Is there any good guide that will allow me to understand the advantages and disadvantages of:
PowerBI on SharePoint vs PowerBI through Office365?
And that also shows me the tools:
PowerMap
PowerView
PowerQuery
PowerPivot
I feel like these are all awesome things that could benefit my company, but I don't know enough about them.

Your best bet on getting to know these tools are the Microsoft documentation pages on getting started with any of them.
This page has an intro to Power BI and links to specific pages on each of these 'Power' tools.
An important note, Power BI is a specific product, which is available on the cloud only. The tools used with Power BI, Power Map, Power View, Power Query, and Power Pivot, are all available in regular Office 2013 Pro Plus and in Office 365 Pro Plus.
You can upload the workbooks utilizing these tools to SharePoint on premises, but you will not be utilizing the Power BI service, which is currently only available through the cloud and offers extended features to this stack of personal BI tools.
After you've read through the documentation, perhaps we can answer more specific questions here.

Help needed to get started

Hi I am very new to Solaris and had not even seen what a UNIX screen looks before. The sys admin person left so it is all upto me to take care of the systems. That is a good thing, I'll learn, but I need some help. I have a brand new Sun V880 box sitting in the box. I have to install Solaris 10 & then Oracle 10g on it.
As I mentioned, I am very new to the world of Solaris. I don't even know how and where to get Solaris installable CD and whether I need license. Also I know that Solaris installation is not like XP that I just run setup.exe.
Could someone please guide me as where and how do I get started. I don't want anyone to do my work, but I need guidance. I know about Oracle 10g CD's but could someone tell me how do I begin with Solaris 10.

you can download the solaris 10 install iso's directly from sun (look under products). as far as the licensing goes, read the aup. i strongly suggest getting a book on unix basics, unix security, and another on administration. unix can be very complicated to learn how to setup and secure properly. i dont want to discourage you, but you are going to need to spend a fair amount of time on this one (learning what everything is, device names, services, package system, etc).

Actually the client and the server must be authenticated to the CA server and then send data between them..With this way I will be able to keep secret the identity of the person who vote..
I have never done anything similar before, just a server-multiclient application using just socket, not Secure Socket..
How should I do this? I have try to run an example with an echo server using a key which I made using keytool.. The CA should give a key to the client and the server? I am really lost and I have no idea how to continue with this!
Can you please give me any ideas, links to tutorials, some books titles to get started? Or some code it would be helpfull!!
