Getting text messages about facebook activity
On my iPhone with iOS 7, sometimes I get a text message that someone has replied to something I said on facebook. Why is this, and how can I turn it off? This never happened until I got iOS 7.
I have had the same problem for the past two weeks, i have figured out that it is something that is with my ATT acount, I can take my SIM card out and put it in any other Iphone and it recreates the problem ( I have replaced Sim card twice).
ATT people have deleted my account and recreated it and its still not working.
I can put my roomates SIM card in my phone and group messages start working perfectly.
All of ppl on my group text are ATT and have iphones.
Please let me know if u fixed yours or find a solution.

Hi, I have had an LG Octane for 4 years and loved it. I used it for email, surfing the web and facebook. But 6 weeks ago I stopped getting text messages, I could send but not receive. I was told it was just worn out. So I ordered another Octane from ebay, and it wouldn't connect to the internet. I was told by Verizon that the software had been changed. So I ordered a NEW in Box Octane and I am having trouble with that too. Bing won't work, nothing will work that will enable me to download Verizon Opera mini that still works on my old phone. I have a smart phone with another number but I LOVE the Octane for daily use. Why will my old Octane work but I can't get a NEW one to. Verizon guys are stumped too:( Please help!! Thanks!

I have not used my CS3 version for about 3-4 years. I tried to use it recently and I get a message about activation. Called the phone number recommended but no longer in use. How do I start using MY version I paid for? Using PC
Can you activate CS3. If you lost your serial you can retrieve it from Adobe.com. Sign in at Adobe.com the use this link https://www.adobe.com/account/my-products-services.html When your Adobe Product list is displayed click on your CS3 product your serial number should be displayed.

If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and you use iMessage, you can use it in your Mac if you want. OS X Mountain Lion includes Messages, that allows you to use iMessage.
First, check that your computer is supported > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If so, open > About this Mac, and see what OS X version you have:
10.5 or older: you have to upgrade first to Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
10.6 or 10.7: open > Software Update, and install the most recent version. Then, open the App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion.
10.8: you are already using OS X Mountain Lion, so open the Messages app.

great Problemes after installing Yosemite (10.10.2 ) with Photoshop CS6....The program crashes --last time 10 times during my work session..wacomtable doesnt work..it is slow...and get error messages about the graphic card....It s a Terror to work with my beloved Photoshop!
The Yosemite upgrade very often damages existing Photoshop installations. Thank Apple for that.
You need to uninstall and re-install Photoshop, then apply all the Photoshop upgrades from scratch.

I seem to have lost carrier settings on my iPad1,I've tried a restore and update but get a message about the original sim card,which I still have but is inactive,really inconvenient as I can only use in wifi spots and off line mode,please help,sibear.
You might want to download something called an undelete utility. These can find files and recover them even after they appear to have been lost. There are some undelete utility programs that are free. Look at tucows.com
Also, it appears that you have POSSIBLY overwritten the actual files, which you moved manually, with I don't know what, which you moved in PSE's folder location view.
Next, in the future ... NEVER (that's: don't even think about it) move your photos in Windows. NEVER. NEVER. Not ever. Not once. This always (that's ALWAYS, as in 100% of the time) causes problems and usually makes things difficult to fix.
Lastly ... make regular backups! I must say this in the forums about seventy bazillion times a month. Make regular backups! Regular depends on how often you take photographs and edit them. Since my photographic activity usually happens on the weekends, I make backups every Sunday night. You may need a different schedule, depending on your activity level. MAKE REGULAR BACKUPS! -
Not getting text messages in group message
When I am in group messages on my iPhone 4, fw 5.1.1, I randomly dont get text messages. I will get about 50% of the messages while everyone else in the group gets every message. I have already tried restoring my firmware teice, once normal, once while in dfu mode. i then set up my phone as a new iphone and I still had the problem. I use at&t while others in the group messages use sprint verizon and at&t.

You are correct but to a point. I thought so too, however, like you, I am "second in command"...under myself.
I was in the same situation and tried others' successful workarounds. Nope. It shows you how to access the Administrator login, literally. It worked for me.
This is from a Microsoft support page (SJ has probably been alerted, so I don't have much time, LOL). I did not want to hit that "final" option and reinstall Win 7. The first time was trying enough and I was about to give in.

I was opposite on this one. What led me to think it wasn't the above was seeing this user " ` " , also known as Accent grave. The Users first file is labeled " ` " and has a little gold lock on it. When I scanned Task Manager, under Processes Tab, the User Name column showed " ` " attached to certain processes. I knew it was me, but did not realize it was the Alpha me
I cannot say if the system automatically did this or I or Alpha (I'm blaming Alpha). If there is a way to change this I do not know, and if I should. Either way, I will do some more research and pray another personality isn't isn't lurking about

since the 6. version update. of my Iphone 4s My wife was getting my text messages. I found the problem was caused by Imessage when connected to Wifi. I deactivated Imessage on both phones to solve the problem. I now have updated my Iphone to 6.1.1 and i dont get text messages anymore. I have Imessage deactivated on my phone but my wife is getting my text messages again. my wifes phone was not updated to 6.1.1 because the last update lost all her contacts from her phone and we had to but them back in one by one from the outlook list. Her contact are listed in outlook on a seperate list to mine but we can only get my contacts download to her phone. We use the same laptop to sysc phones.
My Iphone does not download photos to My Pictures anymore. I have to copy them across to a folder. I cant find where it backs them up to.
I have lost all confidence in Apple now as i was forced to update to 6.1.1 because of 3G reception issues and not reciving calls and now back to spending several hours trying to fix my phone to recieve a basic text message.Are you and your wife sharing apple id?
If you are that is the reason why she is seeing your imessage.
On both phone go to settings - message - send&receive - make sure the cell is the default.
You will have to uncheck or remove the apple id. -

Yes if the messages are sent to an ID which is in the receive section of Settings > Messages > Send and Receive on both devices.

My Mac no longer gets text messages in the Messages app
I use a Macbook Air that had the Public Beta of Yosemite 10.10.2. I also use an iPhone 5s and a retina iPad mini. The iPhone and iPad have iOS 8.1.2 on them.
I was able to get text messages on my Macbook Air and iPad up until January 20th. The last 3 days, the text messages only go to my iPhone. The iMessages go to all of my devices. I didn't update anything that day, but it just stopped working as it used to. I have AT&T for cell phone service if that has anything to do with it. Does anyone else have this issue? A message has come up a few times on my Macbook saying that an iPhone 5s and iPad mini started using iCloud. I didn't change anything on my phone or iPad, so I don't know why that came up.
I've tried restarting all of the devices and that did nothing. They are all updated to the latest versions of software now.
I have the public beta of Yosemite, but I didn't update anything on the 20th that should have changed anything from working properly. I logged out and back into FaceTime on my Macbook Air to try to fix a separate issue on the 21st. That is the only thing that I know of that changed. Is there an iMessage or iCloud outage? Is it an AT&T issue? I don't see anyone else mentioning it on here though. If anyone has had any experience with this issue, I would greatly appreciate any help.I have figured it out. In Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, everything was turned off. I did not turn these off at any point. I still don't understand how or why they were turned off, but they are back now after entering a code again.

Itunes was working fine. Tried to install latest upgrade and get error message about an invalid character in the path "Program Files (x86)". PC, Win7, nothing else appears to be having same issue. Program still works, simply cannor upgrade.

I tried this solution without success. After FixIt ran and didn't find a problem, either in looking for issues with "software upgrade" or "iTunes" it kindly offered to help me uninstall iTunes. I had thought of this as a possibilty but it seems to me that if you do that you lose a lot of "non-native-to-Apple" information you might have entered. I did this once and recovery was painfull. Is there a way to uninstall iTunes without losing all of that sort of thing? Any help would be appreciated. -
I want to use my old iphone for my kids as an ipod. How do I keep from getting text messages on it when it is turned on? If it is on, and my droid razar is on, text messages will go to the iphone. It is either a 4 or 4s ...I don't have Siri, so I think it's a 4. Thanks
Another thing to remember is the phone is actually usable for 911 calls and maybe others. Not a real good idea. Especially for a child.
It would depend however on the age of the child.

The Mac has an App that is called Messages and one of the accounts in it is the iMessages one that can sync with the iOS one.
Open the Messages app and go to the Preferences (In the drop down Menu in the Apps name in the Menu Bar)
In the Preferences select the Accounts tab.
Select the iMessages account if it is not selected.
Untick the iPhone Number to stop iMessages sent to your iPhone Number appearing on your Mac.
Also go to the General section of the Preferences.
There is an items that reads "When I quit, set the Status to Off Line" select this.
This will stop any incoming Messages (from any source that Messages can join) from launching to app when you have not started it but your Computer is On.
You may also want to go to your iPhone Settings and remove the Apple ID.
