Getting text messages back

So I was having horrible battery problems and instead of Apple replacing the phone they told me to restore as new phone and to NOT restore from a backup. I hated to do that, but I finally got it done after an hour or two of manually downloading all my apps again and putting them back in their right places.
Now for the text messages. I backed up my phone last night before I took it to the store today. I really would like all those years of text messages back on my phone. Is there anyway this is possible? I know I can get it by restoring from backup, but Apple said that's the reason my battery was dying so fast was because I had a bad app or something.
Anyone?

well I back up frequently, the only problem was they told me NOT to restore from a backup.
I understand what you're saying about the Photo Stream, but the pictures on the iPad are actually showing up in the Photo Stream section of the iPad...not the camera roll.
I'm sure they'd disappear once I did something to refresh that data, but shouldn't they fall off automatically or does it take me actually doing something to the device to make it refresh the stream data?

Yes, you could Restore your iPhone from your backup on iCloud and get the text. Any texting, or other items, you did between the backup and the Restore would be lost.

You also said "I have yet to back it up." Therefore, all your information that had been on your iPhone is now gone.
Your iPhone has (and will continue to) been refreshed from iTunes.

Since the last update for my Iphone 4s i dont get text messages when connected to wifi. my wife is getting them. Imessage is switched off on both phones.

since the 6. version update. of my Iphone 4s My wife was getting my text messages. I found the problem was caused by Imessage when connected to Wifi. I deactivated Imessage on both phones to solve the problem. I now have updated my Iphone to 6.1.1 and i dont get text messages anymore. I have Imessage deactivated on my phone but my wife is getting my text messages again. my wifes phone was not updated to 6.1.1 because the last update lost all her contacts from her phone and we had to but them back in one by one from the outlook list. Her contact are listed in outlook on a seperate list to mine but we can only get my contacts download to her phone. We use the same laptop to sysc phones.
My Iphone does not download photos to My Pictures anymore. I have to copy them across to a folder. I cant find where it backs them up to.
I have lost all confidence in Apple now as i was forced to update to 6.1.1 because of 3G reception issues and not reciving calls and now back to spending several hours trying to fix my phone to recieve a basic text message.

Are you and your wife sharing apple id?
If you are that is the reason why she is seeing your imessage.
On both phone go to settings - message - send&receive - make sure the cell is the default.
You will have to uncheck or remove the apple id.

My Mac no longer gets text messages in the Messages app

I use a Macbook Air that had the Public Beta of Yosemite 10.10.2. I also use an iPhone 5s and a retina iPad mini. The iPhone and iPad have iOS 8.1.2 on them.
I was able to get text messages on my Macbook Air and iPad up until January 20th. The last 3 days, the text messages only go to my iPhone. The iMessages go to all of my devices. I didn't update anything that day, but it just stopped working as it used to. I have AT&T for cell phone service if that has anything to do with it. Does anyone else have this issue? A message has come up a few times on my Macbook saying that an iPhone 5s and iPad mini started using iCloud. I didn't change anything on my phone or iPad, so I don't know why that came up.
I've tried restarting all of the devices and that did nothing. They are all updated to the latest versions of software now.
I have the public beta of Yosemite, but I didn't update anything on the 20th that should have changed anything from working properly. I logged out and back into FaceTime on my Macbook Air to try to fix a separate issue on the 21st. That is the only thing that I know of that changed. Is there an iMessage or iCloud outage? Is it an AT&T issue? I don't see anyone else mentioning it on here though. If anyone has had any experience with this issue, I would greatly appreciate any help.

I have figured it out. In Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, everything was turned off. I did not turn these off at any point. I still don't understand how or why they were turned off, but they are back now after entering a code again.

Are you talking about text message or email?
The only way to get a text message back is to restore from a backup that included that message.
For email I would check your trash folder on your PC.

Yes if the messages are sent to an ID which is in the receive section of Settings > Messages > Send and Receive on both devices.

Another thing to remember is the phone is actually usable for 911 calls and maybe others. Not a real good idea. Especially for a child.
It would depend however on the age of the child.

Hi,
The Mac has an App that is called Messages and one of the accounts in it is the iMessages one that can sync with the iOS one.
Open the Messages app and go to the Preferences (In the drop down Menu in the Apps name in the Menu Bar)
In the Preferences select the Accounts tab.
Select the iMessages account if it is not selected.
Untick the iPhone Number to stop iMessages sent to your iPhone Number appearing on your Mac.
Also go to the General section of the Preferences.
There is an items that reads "When I quit, set the Status to Off Line" select this.
This will stop any incoming Messages (from any source that Messages can join) from launching to app when you have not started it but your Computer is On.
You may also want to go to your iPhone Settings and remove the Apple ID.

If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and you use iMessage, you can use it in your Mac if you want. OS X Mountain Lion includes Messages, that allows you to use iMessage.
First, check that your computer is supported > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If so, open  > About this Mac, and see what OS X version you have:
10.5 or older: you have to upgrade first to Snow Leopard > http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
10.6 or 10.7: open  > Software Update, and install the most recent version. Then, open the App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion.
10.8: you are already using OS X Mountain Lion, so open the Messages app.
While OS X Mountain Lion is being downloaded, make a backup of your files and check that your apps are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com
If you aren't referring to iMessage, you can't send text messages in your computer

mono 8 bit 8k is 64kbps, yes. 8 bits times 8,000 = 64,000 = 64k bits/sec.
And yes I think that's a typo - there's no such thing as 'Mone' that I've ever heard of...
But you might want to check to find out if this is a mu-law non-linear format, possibly - there are several ways that 8 bit 8k wav files can be encoded, and typically phone systems don't use linear ones. If you have a log-in to Zultys' user-base system they have an FAQ there, I believe - the answer might be in that, and it won't cost $500.

I was told it was just worn out. So I ordered another Octane from ebay, and it wouldn't connect to the internet. I was told by Verizon that the software had been changed.
