We bought our daughter an iPad and set it up. My wife and I are now getting texts whenever our daughter gets a text on her iPad. How do we stop this?
Thats better than taking photos of my girlfriend and having them pop up on my wifes ipad!

You are not receiving texts (green bubble) but instead iMessages (blue bubble).
This is what happens when iMessage is enabled on multiple devices sharing a single Apple ID.
Either disable iMessage or use different Apple ID's on each device. -

Will the iPad power up by holding down on the power button until the Apple logo appears on the screen? If it does, try restoring using recovery mode.

Try a reset ..
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Why can't I watch videos that my daughter sends me from her iPad? I am very new on my ipad2. I have no idea what my operating system is.
Under the iPad specifications they support the following video types:

The iPad and iPad 2 support the same video types. You cannot open a .mov file via e-mail to the best of my knowledge (on iPad). Only YouTube videos and app specific videos* can be opened via e-mail on the iPad.
* Such as PBS News Hour, TED, etc.
If both of you use a social network such as Facebook she could upload the videos and can post them on your wall. -
My daughter put a password on her Ipad2 and forgot her password. She entered the password wrong 10 times and now her Ipad says that it's locked and disabled. How can I reset or unlock her IPad2?
thank youYou cant reset the password. You will have to restore the device within iTunes and you will want to use the same computer that you sync with if you want to restore all of the app data and app settings.

I have ipad 3 & daughter new ipad mini with RD. She has nano and I have classic. Her nano syncs to her own laptop and mine to my desktop. I bought iTunes Match and authorised both iPads and both iPods. I have now enabled iTunes Match in my ipad and was warned it would replace my library. I pressed "enable" and now the 1800 songs in my library are gone and all I've got is the music my daughter bought from iTunes. What have I done wrong and how can I get my songs back. When I bought iTunes Match I got 1 e-mail confirming subscription and another providing receipt but nothing else no links etc. any assistance would be appreciated.
ArccctwcYou can only upload music from your computer's iTunes, you can't do it from an iOS device - when you subscribe to iTunes Match on your computer it should have scanned your music library on it and matched or uploaded any non-iTunes purchased music to it.
Do you have copies of those tracks anywhere e.g. on an iOS device or on your backup of your downloads/library ? If they are iTunes purchases then they should be in the cloud. If they were copied from CDs or bought from other sources then if they are only on an iOS device (i.e. you don't have them on a backup) then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991

Do as the users guide states, connect the device to the computer it normally syncs with and restore from backup to remove the passcode.

After my cousin from California did an update on her iPad to 7.1 she could not start her iPad. It had only a message to hook it up to iTunes. She had to use my Mac to do it and it said she had to do a FACTORY RESTORE. This would mean she would lose everything!!! She does have her photos on her iPhone but other things are not backed up on the cloud. Is there a way for her to un up grade her iPad so she doesn't have to go through the loss of everything? Is there some way she can link her phone to her iPad to get the stuff off her iPad to the cloud first to save it and THEN to the factory restore? Any help would be appreciated.
She really wishes she had NEVER upgraded the software :-(
