Getting the Brush Cursor

I can't remember just what setting is causing the problem, but having installed PS CS4, my brush cursor can be as big as possible or as small as poaaible and all I see is a small x regardless. I checked the preferences for cursors and they appear correct. Any thoughts? It also appears that my settings for CS3 were affected as well.

Agreed but I couldn't log on to the forum if the caps lock was on, my log in info is all lower case. I should have been more clear but I do appreciate all the help.

Spot remover tool / healing brush. How do I get the brush to show up and work??

It seems I can only get the spot remover tool to work on certain photos and in certain areas of said photos . On the one picture I really need this for--where the problem started--I had used it once without much success (it was working then, but I didn't do it right). So I left the picture and worked on another. When I came back to the first picture, I brought up an earlier version of it, before the initial spot removal, to work on. Now I can't get the brush to even show up on the frame, although other tools are working fine. I've checked on other pictures and it seems that many times the spot remover brush won't show up. WhY???

Great. There are other keyboard shortcuts when using this tool like the forward slash key and holding down shift if cloning an area that is a straight line. And don’t forget you can click on the word reset. Take a look at this short video tutorial from Adobe TV.

Every time I open iPhoto I get the loading cursor and nothing loads

Every time I open iPhoto I get the loading cursor and nothing loads. I have tried to sync photos from my iPhone, from my iPad and nothing works. I do not want to restore my whole computer to a backed-up version because I have been using the other applications just fine. How do I restore just my iPhoto and not lose any pictures?

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I just got my first macbook pro few days ago and its already been crashing on me! i keep getting the rainbow cursor evrytime i open new applications

Just like the above title, my macbook keeps freezing and I keep getting the rainbow cursor. also, is it normal for macbook pros for the laptop and the charger to overheat like crazy with just 20 minutes of usage in?

RE: Photoshop Cursor (Pointer, Brush Shape, Tool) not changing.
If you already know how to go into the Photoshop>Preferences>Cursors and change the Painting Cursors to your choice (Standard, Precise, Normal Brush Tip, Full-Size Brush Tip etc.) and what you have set (can see in the example window) is NOT showing up on your artwork (canvas, board, workspace, window) then the PROBLEM IS Adobe Photoshop NOT you.
SOLUTION: Quit Photoshop FOREVER (just kidding – I love PS):
1.Quit Photoshop
2. Find a folder called Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings (or your version of Creative Suite) Mine is in MacintoshHD>UserName (my computer’s name)>Library (NOT the System Library)>Preferences> Adobe Photoshop CS4 Settings (open this folder)
3. Here you will see a file called, “Adobe Photoshop CS4 Prefs.psp” and likely was modified “Today”
4. Delete it, or move it to desktop (elsewhere) IT IS CORRUPTED
5. Relaunch Photoshop and this file will recreate itself back to the default settings (Sorry your Recent items list will also go back to default)
6. Open the document you were working on (you saved it?)
7. Within Adobe PS go file, Photoshop>Preferences>Cursor and your OK will actually work.
By The Way:
Preferences Files are used by most applications (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint; Adobe Illustrator/SoundBooth; Web Browsers etc.) They record your personal choices on how to interact/interface with the app. They get corrupted – they just do . . . when you delete one and relaunch, the application creates a NEW Preferences File with the default setting and the “its not changing” problem fixes itself but you will lose all your preferred settings (having to reset them all over again). Still, this is better than not being able to change things - cause that creates, “User Madness”.

How to get the 'hand' cursor on an ALV drill down report?

I have a drill down on PO # going to trans ME23N that is working great.
But I have noticed on my other drill downs (E.G for billing doc VF03) that when the report is displayed the drill down field value is a) underlined and b) has a 'Hand' appear when you place the cursor over the billing document field.
This does not happen on my PO # - it is not highlighted with an underscore, nor do you get the small hand - but it does work when you double click the field.
The field I am using on the ALV report is RSEG-EBELN. This is not a KEY field in the table - perhaps that is why it does not have the underscore and the 'hand'.

When you build your field cat use the below code.
DATA : x_fieldcat TYPE slis_fieldcat_alv.
* Single click on the field will trigger double click event.Also, a hand
* will appear when the cursor navigates to the field
X_FIELDCAT-HOTSPOT = 'X'.

I am trying to use the adj brush but when i zoom in i cant get the brush only see the hand

each time i try to use the adj brush i zoom in and then hit either k or the adj brush but i dont see the brush just the zoom hand...can you help me or tell me what i am doing wrong...

You haven't exactly provided a lot of information on what you're doing, so it's tad difficult to say what you're doing wrong.
The brush will show as the Zoom tool until the preview is fully rendered.
To zoom in Lightroom develop module you can press down on the Spacebar and the Brush tool should switch to the Zoom tool, click on the image to zoom then release the spacebar. The cursor should switch back to the brush. If you continue to hold down the Spacebar the cursor changes to the Hand tool. The key is to NOT hold down the spacebar for any longer than necessary.
You can also use the Z key to zoom in/out. Some find it works MUCH better as it eliminates the need to switch the cursor icon.

How do I get the brush to stop snapping to the edges?

I use Photoshop 7.0.
Whenever I'm working on a sketch using the brush tool, sometimes my work will go all the way to the very edges. Then, the brush will just automatically snap to the edge where I don't want it to go. This is especially annoying when I'm making some kind of curve very close to the edge, but dont want it touching it.

One way is to hold down the Ctrl key when you get near the edges.
Another way is to go to the View menu and uncheck Snap.

How to get the current cursor position in word report?

I am generating a word report. But I would like to keep the table in one page. However, I did not find the way to do it in labview. Somebody would give me some suggestions? I appreciate a lot.
One way I think I can do is to find the current cursor position. Since I know the table size so I can figure out if the left space in the current page is enough to hold the table. But I do not know how to locate the curent cursor position in word document in labview programmatically. I appreciate any suggestions on this question.

Hi,
when you insert data in a word document you have to refer to bookmarks rather than cursor position.
If you are using the Report Generation Toolkit for Office it is explained in the manual chapter 3-1.
See also the example: Generate Report From Template (Word).vi included in the toolkit.
If you aren't using the toolkit, you still have to refer to bookmark as reference points to insert and/or fetch data.
The principle is:
- First create a document in which you insert bookmarks where you wish and save it as a template
- In LV open your template document and insert in it your data referring to bookmarks as insertion points
- At the end save your report with another name, so you still have the template

How do I get the brush thumbnail to show in CS5 please?

I have tried everything and no one can help me. I don't have the extended version,
I have upgraded to PS5 from PS4 with a download but according
to tutorials I have seen there should be a mini paint brush in a box that moves along with
the pen to show how hard you are using the brush etc...
It's not showing and I can't find any settings for it.

How do I get the returned cursor from a stored procedure to an asp.

Sorry if this topic has been answered before but I am new to Oracle and ASP. I have been asked to create some stored procedures and access the results from the ASP. I will be passing one variable in and could be getting upto 200 rows returned.
I have no trouble with the stored procedure but have no clue how to retrieve the data returned by it.

Assuming that the stored procedure has a single argument, an OUT cursor, you should be able to do
SQLExecDirect
{call <stored_proc>() }
SQLFetch
SQLGetData

How can I get the mouse cursor to display the Link Cursor on a text field?

true yet the cursor changes to an I beam cursor when I hover over

I think you would want the "selectable" property set to
false. That prevents the pointer from changing to an I-beam.
However you still need to have the pointer change to a link
pointer. Search online, "flex change cursor pointer" or something
like that. I hope that helps.

How can I get the mouse cursor from acrobat reader to use in other windows programs?

I like the pointer used in Adobe's Acrobat Reader and would like to use it as my regular mouse pointer. A friend and I were able to do it years ago, but I can't now. I am using Windows XP Home Edition.

Hey, this is a question that a few lingering google searchers have been stumped with.....How do you get the mourse cursor arrow icon that is white, to fade or disappear while watching iTunes visualizer?

I like having thw whole screen background black for the cool visualizer....

After a little more research in this forum, I found another user reporting the exact same problem... solved by downloading the Perian component for Quicktime. I downloaded Perian and it worked great! Problem solved.
