Getting the g1 or mass storage device to sync with itunes

Are there any 3rd party apps that do this and gets album artwork?

The "distinct" advantage to having a Samsung phone as well as a tablet is familiarity with the OS and screen layouts, and the Samsung apps available only on Samsung devices (and I don't use those anyway....)  Android apps will sync between devices whether you are using a Motorola, an HTC, a Samsung .... photos, contacts, etc all sync with Google and the Play store.
I would choose a phone based on other features, specs, camera, comfort, memory, SD capability, things that are priority to me - not necessarily the manufacturer.  If the phone fits your needs and it happens to be a Samsung, like your tablet, well, that's a plus.  If there's another Android phone that seems a better fit, I wouldn't discount it simply because it ISN'T a Samsung, all your apps, pics, contacts will sync across manufacturers.

Are you signed into iTunes on the computer with the same Apple ID the apps in question were "purchased" with?  Is the computer authorized for that account?

  • NO BLUETOOTH, NO STORAGE DEVICE, NO SYNC WITH OUTL...

What future are we talking about here ?

Feeling robbed & cheated, hope we get some kinnda support from NOKIA.

    Hi FRREDOM,
Thanks for the feedback, I'll try and answer your questions/remarks as best as possible
    1) Bluetooth use only for headset
    This is not unique to Windows Phone and well documented. In Windows Phone SAP and FTP are not implemented. Windows Phone supports Bluetooth audio (EDR) and connection profiles for use with a carkit (PBAP, HSP, HFP). Here is the complete list of supported profiles;
    A2DP 1.2, AVCTP 1.0, AVDTP 1.0, AVRCP 1.0, AVRCP 1.3, GAVDP 1.2, HFP 1.5, HSP 1.1, PBAP 1.0, RFCOMM 1.0
    2) Unable to connect as mass storage.
Also well documented. Actually you have at least 7GB of shared storage available to both the phone and other devices through SkyDrive
    3) Song to ringtone not available.
There are multiple apps available in marketplace which will allow you to setup songs as ringtones. Also creating your own is clearly explained here.
    4) No memory card slot.
This is well documented and not unique to Windows Phone
    5) Poor camera for a 5 MP, bad resolution.
There are several settings which will influence image quality. Also you may want to install the Camera Extras app from marketplace which will give you additional features and settings.
    6) No Java Support.
While Windows Phone does not support using JAVA natively there are options available like WebORB. Also this is not unique to the Windows Phone platform.
    7) No business card option.
This is available through the Contacts Share app
    8) No internal voice recorder app.
A number of alternatives can be found in marketplace
    9) Zune software restriction ( not user friendly)
Which restrictions would you refer to here?
    10) No Skype support, strange in these times of tech savvy age.
Skype for Windows Phone. Due to hardware restriction of the Lumia 610 this app is not available for it at this time though. This is well documented and relates to the Lumia 610 being an entry level Windows Phone device.
    11) 1300 amp battery, doesn't sustain full day when used for internet.
Having a constantly active internet connection would require a relative large amount of energy, this is not unique to WIndows Phone or the Lumia 610.
    12) No flash or silverlight support.
Not unique to Windows Phone. Flash is no longer being developed for mobile devices.
    13) Alarm does'nt work if cell switched off.
If a device is switch off it is not possible to use the alarm. If you refer to other Nokia devices (Sx0/Symbian) these devices do not switch off, but go to a sleepmode when you 'turn off'.
    14) Not the least, cannot be upgraded to windows 8.
This has been well documented, but will however not impact the functionality of the Lumia 610 in any way. Windows Phone 8 is a new mobile OS which main functions and enhancements over Window Phone 7.x will require hardware not available on the Lumia 610. Windows Phone 7.5 will receive an update to version 7.8 after Windows Phone 8 is released which will include at least the new start screen options.
Lastly, the Lumia 610 syncs with your Outlook contacts and calendars in real-time through your Microsoft Account. You will find more information on this in this post.
Hope this helps, feel free to post any additional questions you may have.

  • Is there a way to separate podcasts that I'll go to the iPad and others that'll go to the iPhone and be able to auto sync with iTunes?

So far the only way I'm able to pull that off is having the "sync podcast" on the iPhone and iPad turn off, otherwise everything on iTunes goes into both devices and is a real pain in the...

That's actually what I'm currently doing... but the problem is that by doing so I have to manually delete the podcasts I already heard on my iPhone on iTunes again... because the "sync podcasts" option on the iPhone and iPad is off, if I turn that on... all podcasts go in all my devices, and I like to keep podcasts for iPad and iPhone separate.

  • When will the iphone's ical be able to sync with iTunes and Mac's Ical

since the release of the iOS5 I've been unable to have a calendar on my iPhone that is fundamental to my life.
the ical still keeps recording 5, 10, 20, 50 times the same recording whenever I try to sync the iphone with the mac's ical.
I would like to know when will this mishap be fixed so that I can be able to work properly with the iphone schedulling appointments on the iphone and later syncing them with my mac's ical.
    thank you

I can't seem to find any icloud setting on my MBP. The calenders sync just fine between my phone, ipad and on the icloud account, but the MBP iCal has nothing on it.
When I go to itunes, it simply says that things are being automatically synced on icloud and there is no option for me to change anything.
I would just like to bring my MBP iCal up to speed?????

  • I cannot get my iPod touch or my iPhone to sync with iTunes.

At first it wouldn't even read that my devices existed. Now after restoring both devices from backups and re-installing iTunes (this was a last resort, no other suggestions worked) my iPhone gives Error 0xE8000065 when connected.
The iPod won't even restore, it starts by saying the restore will take 20h then after 15mins it gives me "Cannot restore from backup".
    Help?

Both are working fine now. I didn't do anything, I was just googling possible solutions and suddenly iTunes came to the front and synced both devices fine.
    Sometimes technology makes no sense...

  • With iCloud activated on iOS devices, how do I manage syncing with iTunes?

Guess it's time to take a class at the Apple Store (there's an app for that)
    Two Questions:
    Question 1
I have turned on iCloud in my iPad and iPhone5 for contacts, calendars, reminders, Safari, Passbook (iPhone only), and Find my iPhone/iPad.
I am not using iCloud for backups, email or photo stream because for many reasons I choose to avoid WiFi.In the iPhone User guide (page 57) it says, "if you use iCloud to store your contacts, calendars.....don't also sync them to your device using iTunes."
When I set up the devices in iTunes, i checked "Automatically sync contacts, calendrs, bnookmarks, notes and email."  Now I want to modify that setup.  However, if I simply plug in the devices to the computer I'm going to get an automatic sync and I understand that can unnecessarily duplicate data.
    How to resolve this?
Can I just turn OFF the iCloud features on each device, attach the device to the computer, and reconfigure iTunes to stop the auto-sync of the contacts, etc.?  Then after ejecting the device, I turn the iCloud features back ON?
    Question 2
I've been downloading apps, music, and books in iTunes and then syncing them to my devices.  How does this change with iCloud?
On each device I've gone into Settings-Store and activated Automatic downloads of Music, Apps, Books.
Now, when I go to my PC and log in to iTunes to order an app, book, music, do I still have to attach each device to the computer in order to obtain the downloads?
What about apps I obtain directly from a device?

For your first issue, without connecting your iPad open iTunes on your computer and go to Preferences and on the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically".  This will disable automatic syncing when you connect your iPad, allowing you to change your settings without syncing.  Next, connect your iPad, click on the name of your iPad on the left side of iTunes and to to the Info tab and uncheck the data you no longer want to sync with iTunes (such as contacts and calendars).  When done making you changes, click Apply at the bottom (this will sync your phone with the new settings).  If you prefer, you can then go back to iTunes preferences and re-enable automatic syncing.
You will continue to sync your iTunes media such as music and apps with iTunes as you did before.  These are not stored or synced with iCloud (although you can redownload media purchased from the iTuens and app stores in the future if you need to; however, this has nothing to do with your iCloud account).
If you have enabled automatic downloads for your Apple ID, when you purchase apps, music or books in iTunes using this Apple ID it will automatically be downloaded to your iPad.  If you purchase them on your iPad, they will be automatically added to your iTunes library when you sync your iPad.

  • How do I get my music to sync with iTunes?

I couldn't find this answer, Basically, I added 2xSSD's in my Windows PC and reinstalled iTunes. I had certain songs on my ipod touch (about 900) and I have about 3000 in my iTunes that are all checked now after the reinstall of iTunes. I never created a list, but rather just chose music along the way and sync'd them that way. How can I get just the Music on my iPod touch to sync with itunes in a way that I don't have to uncheck all the songs in iTunes? Or do I have to start all over again?

Try to Maually Add/Delete songs from your iPod.

Have you tried opening iTunes?  Does iTunes detect that the iPhone is connected?
